Carolr Glad there are no blockages etc and that all went well. Tony has gone through some of that himself and he is only about 5 or 10 lbs over weight. The problem he experiences never shows up on tests. We just try to be careful what we eat.
I'm not losing on the scales, but my clothes are looser and my especially in the stomach area. So I figure that is good and that somewhere along the way the scales will catch up.
Trish, loose clothes are delightful. I have just been noticing how I can get tired of a food I thought I would never get tired of. Carmel corn is the most recent. I guess there really is something to biological feedback.
I am still doing IE and still losing weight but my major problem is random bites of food as I am cooking. Does anyone do this? I mean, you have to make sure what you are making is good right? I was thinking maybe I should just put some carrot sticks out while I am cooking or something like that. Any suggestions?
I do that too, Jelma, and the only hint I know is to chew gum while you're cooking. I'm getting better at not tasting just because I am not hungry. Keep up the good work.

I used to do that all the time too expecially when I cooked for my family of 5 or more. I didn't realize that I don't do it so much any more, but I think that is because I only cook for Tony and myself and we keep what we eat so simple. He is one of those people as a kid who didn't like his foods to touch each other and hasn't changed whick leaves out casseroles. Plus he is a picky eater so I don't get to cook foods that you have to taste while cooking. However, when I cooked certain foods when the kids were here, I did have to taste depending on what it was. Sometimes, I made DH do the tasting.
I do like carolr's suggestion of chewing gum. Works for me to keep me from munching all the time. It might keep you from tasting. Then if you are cooking something that you "really need" to taste and not a craving thing, you could always take the gum out long enough to taste. Hope you are able to find what will work for you.
Yeah, that is weird. I couldn't find it, and now it is over here. I thought they removed it. Anyway, I was just lurking. I like reading the posts, but I usually don't respond. Just saying hi to everyone.
I've been holding steady. I keep losing and gaining the same 5 pounds. I keep hoping it will go down gradually, but that has not really happened yet. I've started going to an aerobics class and it is really great. I love it.
The problem I have now is I have to stop eating tomatoes, peppers, and citrus. I have psoriasis and my mom (who has it also) recommend I try it. So I did, and my psoriasis stopped itching. OMG! I don't know if you can appreciate this, but imagine having a chronic itch that won't ever go away. It drives me insane! When I stopped eating tomatoes, it cleared up almost immediately. The problem with all of this is, I love tomatoes! They are in everything!! I have had to change my whole way of cooking to accommodate this, and I think it has caused me to gain weight. My jeans are suddenly tight. *sigh* Well, I'm just sad about this. I guess it's either itch or eat what I like. It's gotten depressing.
theCandEs, I wonder if cooking makes a difference with the tomatoes and peppers, and with the oranges, I wonder if it's the pulp/juice vs the peel (or both) that causes the problem.
Well, I think I have a problem with the acidity. I have eaten oranges and tomatoes on occasion, but then I have to put steroid cream on my skin to stop the itching. I can't eat honeydew or cantaloupe because it burns my throat. My friend who is a nurse said it was an allergic reaction and not to eat it anymore or my throat could close up. Not a pleasant thought. What is so ironic about this is most of the time these foods would be considered good for you, and I happen to love them. I go back to the dermatologist at the beginning of Feb. I will just have to see what she says, I guess.
I love tomatoes, too, especially garden ones in the summer. I have to avoid dairy products due to a health problem with high blood calcium and I love dairy products.
The Candes : I'm sorry you need to restrict your diet like that. Those are foods I love too =S
One of the principles of IE is that there's no good or bad foods. You really need to try them and determine if they make you, in particular, feel good or not. I guess tomatoes do not =S so, that should be a no-no for you but not because of weight loss but because of another condition.
So, I had another epiphany today (and counting...): IE is about control and self-trust! I may not be losing weight, but I feel much more in control when around food
Welcome, Katterina. Looks like you don't have far to go. That's great!

Katterina I too am working on portion control although we are supposed to learn to stop when we are starting to feel full. It seems that lately portion control is what I need to work on.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I started my "non-diet" on Thankgiving (of all days!), although I didn't receive my IE book in the mail until weeks later. The experience has been wonderfully freeing.
