Okay, so I'm bored , my co-worker/boss (She's not REALLY the boss, but she's the only one who knows this job. Our boss, doesn't have a clue as to what we actually do and doesn't sit anywhere near us) called in today. You know what they say..... when the cats away.......

So I haven't decided what to do with myself today. I do know that I am going to leave early so that I can get my exercise in before DH has to leave for work.

Just talked to him, he's tired and doesn't feel like going in. I am evil and selfish and don't want him to go either (because then I'll have the kids all to myself) . But I didn't say anything. I just told him to do what he wants.

My mom keeps trying to get me to go to Reno w/ her, my aunt and her family. They're going Thursday and coming back on Friday. I would love to go.....but we have no money ~ Mom offered to give me cash instead of buying me a present (if I go), then there's the guilt factor. DH would like to go too. He said I could go without him, but I would feel so guilty. He loves to gamble (again, no money), and then the biggest issue is my kids. Whose gonna watch them while DH is at work? Dang that Kryssie for going to San Diego . But as long as I don't think about it then I won't try to find a way to go.

Oh well, got all my water in this morning before 8 am! , but now I'm doing the pp dance every hour . Gggrrrr

Hello! water 3/4ths of the way done, exercise done....still up in the air on the eat'n plan....i want a lifestyle change...not an exact plan to follow....help.

I took the kids to DH's work's country club. Kinda scared going there, can ya hear it..."is that his wife?". Well, we had the pool to ourselves except for a couple little girls. I think the chlorine helped my poison itch. Now, I'm starting to ooze. Nice vision, heh?

Where is everyone....I know, work. That ugly four letter word.

I've been thinking about the food plan....help is still welcome.
What if my plan is to get in 3 fruits, 3 veggies and nothing over 30%fat according to the susan formula....does that sound like a plan?
I'm on my fourth bottle of water thanks to you guys. I'd been drinking water, but had quit counting....I'm sure I was falling short.
This challenge is probably just what I needed.

Aahhh Boogery! Started today! . I should have known it was coming. I just counted out the days, on Friday and ever since DD I've been pretty regular. Which never happened before. It also explained why the scale showed a huge gain today. Whew, whatta relief , I was secretly a little disappointed this morning. But Saturday is weigh in, so I don't post what the scale says on a daily basis. But I am proud of the fact that I got my exercise in and everything. If I had any symptoms they really weren't too noticable. This morning I said I wasn't feeling too well, but I thought it was from the water at work (out of the tap). I didn't even have the urge to over eat this month before starting. That's pretty cool . Even though it's that TOM, I'll still be weighing in on Saturday.

Here are my totals for today (or am I supposed to post it tomorrow?) A little confused.......

Food: 1 (1200)
Water 1 (64+ oz)
Exercise: 1 (walked 2 miles)

Total: 3

Hoping everyone had a great day OP!

Ooooh. Tiger is oozing.

Well, Tig, I think that plan is good. The 20% was really restrictive, in my opinion. I think 30% is much more do-able.

Ok...well...I did already do the water. I drank 50 oz. Which for me is a miracle. I HATE water. I simply can't stress that enough.

As far as the food, I am at 1300 calories right now and it is 6:20 in the evening. but I have a half a bag of pretzels left from earlier that has already been added into my total for the day. I still have a bike ride to take and then if I can get to bed and sleep until morning with no snacking, then I will have 3 points for my first day. Nice start. (I figure I will be going downhill in a hurry, but I am going to do my best!!!

Well, if everything goes well, tomorrow is my weigh in and hopefully I will hit the official 30# mark. I have worked my butt off since May to get to this point. (with many slips along the way) But I am still here and I am still doing it. With so much of the thanks due to you all. With no support system, this would be impossible. My family is some help, but they aren't overweight and they can't understand the triumph that comes with eating NORMAL for one day. Or getting that walk in. It's not a big deal to them. It is a huge deal to me, and I love that all of you can give me the pat on the back that I need so often.

Now Jello...are you going to be actively participating in the contest, counting the 3 points a day? Or are you just going along with us, not actively doing the challenge? I was not sure from your post.

Starting tomorrow, I will be logging our points. I will rag on everyone who doesn't post them the following day. *grrrr* Scared, aren't ya?

Probably, I will be doing all my checking in the evening, since my time in the morning is so tight. By the way, I HATE THIS JOB. It really stinks up the place. But, we all have to do things that we don't like and the money helps.

Anyway...here are a couple of jokes for ya:

Q: What is the difference between Michael Jackson and a grocery bag?

A: One is made of plastic and is dangerous for children to play with....The other is used to carry groceries.

Q: What do Tupperware and a walrus have in common?

A: They both like a tight seal.

Q: How can you tell which potato is a prostitute?

A: It's the one with the sticker on it that says "Idaho"

Ok, I know, they are old, but I still laugh!

Anyway, see ya all tomorrow!

Dyan, you can post in the morning from now on. That just allows for any food slips that can happen later at night. (NOT THAT THEY WOULD!) But I tend to eat late at night....and I don't want to post my totals and then have to take it back in the morning. LOL

Points for Monday

Food - 1
Water - 1
Exercise - 1

See, told ya I was gonna win!

Boy that walking around the strip center where my daughter has piano lessons was sure boring, but it did feel good to get moving again. I hadn't done anything since the trip. Had trouble getting all that water down too, guess I've just been lazy all around. So my 21 yr old is bugging me for the computer. Have a good day all.

Monday, 2 points for me....didn't score a food point. Today, I'm score'n the food point! I didn't wolf down a little debbie before I had my eyes open, that's a plus.

It's so hard learing to THINK about the foods I eat. THINK, THINK, THINK....I feel like Pooh....mmm, honey.

Dyan, new babies, that's good. Other people gaining pregnancy weight while u are loosing....even better. I know, I'm evil.

Kayla, I'm sure your dad doesnt hate you. Just give him time to cool off. Lay low and be good.

Tiff, wasn't that stinky job just for a few weeks? Do you know where u go next?

Jello, glad to hear u like the trainer. How does it work, does she tell u what to eat, do u report your food? Does she meet u for all your workouts? Do tell.

Tigerlily, still oozing...

Well, 3 for me.

1 for food, I did finish in my range for the day with no late night snacking.

1 for exercise, I went on a 30 minute bike ride and then a 20 minute walk later in the evening...

and 1 for water. YAY!!!! I drank the toxic poison.

Dyan, I am sure you are still officially at 3 for Monday! Congrats to your sister. I am always so happy for people having babies that REALLY want them. As I mentioned on the last thread, I carried a baby last year for a couple who were unable to have a baby on their own. Seeing them have the family they had wanted for so many years was SO rewarding. I can imagine the happiness that your Sister is feeling.

Kayla...EVERYONE has done that! It's part of stretching your wings and becoming an adult. It sounds like you were trying to keep it in check. Maybe after your Dad calms down a little, you can sit down and talk with him. Explain your side and how you learned a big lesson from it....you know, all that stuff a dad wants to hear.... And NO ONE hates you. Honestly!

Tig, the job was/is for 30 days. I am in my second week. They are supposed to let me know when the next job opens up, but time DRAGS when you hate what you are doing!

Don't worry about the food, you will get it!!!! I had to laugh at the Pooh reference. I am like Homer Simpson "Mmmmm donuts"

HAHAHA,
Well, I will check in tonight to see about Cafe and Jo....
Good job on the first day of the contest everyone! Dyan mentioned a new thread for the contest...that sounds good. I will do that tonight. Maybe have one official contest thread, just for our results and then start a new thread for us all to gossip and get long-winded on!

Have a super day,
Tiffany
Ooooohhh...it's weigh in day....let me run and check....
234!!! I have now lost 31 pounds since May!!! Ok, now I am in a super mood. (I even have to potty, so maybe I weigh even less!!!) LOL

Well, happily I can report a solid "3" for Monday! Yay!! (Yes, Tiff, I'm in!!!) Last night I had a huge salad for dinner and was stuffed! Later I found myself wanting something sweet.... So I turned off the lights and TV and went to bed.

Hmm, no that didn't sound quite right. What I mean is, I didn't eat anything more. And it didn't kill me!!! Go figure.

Sadly, however, my scale is evil. I'm thinking it's almost TOM and I'm retaining water but it doesn't help to see those big ol' numbers when you think you're doing so well.

Kayla, Tiffany's right. You're dad is just angry right now. He can't possibly hate you! My dad and I had some tough times when I was a teenager (back in the dark ages) but we get along great now. I always tell the story of me trying buying a "ready to assemble" table for my first apartment and, after spending hours on it, finally calling dad to come fix it. Sad, little lop-sided, some-parts-upside-down thing. Dad walked in the door, took one look and laughed so hard he had to sit down for a few minutes. Together we fixed my little table (which still sits proudly in my home) and went to lunch to celebrate ... and so he could tell every waitress in the place about my building skills. Anyway, your dad will calm down. Talk to him about it!

Dyan, congrats to both sis and SIL!!! That's so exciting. I keep telling my sister to have another one. (Hers just turned 4.) I'm one of those "babies are great if I can give them back after a while" people.

Tiffany, try sprinkling just a tiny bit of Crystal Light drink mix into your water. Just enough to add a touch of flavor. I also have a system of chugging a few mouthfuls of water and washing it down with caffeine free diet Pepsi to get the "taste" out of my mouth. Hey, whatever works.

At the festival last week, I had a Lime Fizz. I watched the guy make it and all it is is lime juice, seltzer and lots of ice. It was really good! Does seltzer count toward the water count? No calories, no sodium, etc.

To tell you guys the truth, I'm not exactly sure how the weight loss program works just yet! My trainer's working on the answers the the million questions I answered on the forms I turned in and is going to work on a sample menu type thing. We talked about cardio training and resistance training and are going to figure out a plan of action there. A lot of what we've covered so far has to do with exchanges, eating a balanced diet (proteins, starches, veggies, etc.) and portion sizes (my big downfall). All I really know is that I'm eating well, exercising, drinking my water and - gasp! - learning some things by reading nutrition labels!!! I'll say it again. Whatever works!

Tig, glad (!?!?) to hear about your oozing! (Now there's something you don't hear everyday. ) I'm one of those people who, if someone whispers the words "poison ivy" within a 6 block radius, I catch it. I went to my doctor once with it covering every square inch of my body. Eyes were swelling shut. Ears (!!) were swelling shut! (Eh? What'd you say?) It was horrible. I ended up with 2 shots and 3 different medications. That was years ago. Now I wear long sleeves even on the hottest gardening days. There's also a product out there that you can use to prevent it if you stop and wash with it every 30 minutes or so. Yeah, I know. Too late. Sorry.

I have to go. A guy here at work very proudly gave me a piece of peach cobbler that he lovingly made and insisted I try. I tried it, I did. It was very good. And after he left, I put the rest into a sheet of paper (squished it in there) and threw it in the garbage can. Yes, it's calling to me but even I'm not desperate enough to eat out of the garbage. Yck.

Hope you're all having a great 3 point day!

Tiff ~ Congrats on the weight loss, you go ggrrrlll ! Just think, by the time this challenge is up, you will have BEEN out of there!! (yeah, still 3 for me)

Tig ~ Man.....all that scratching is making me itch! You poor thing. As far as the points go....2 is better than 0 right? It means you got your bootay moving and drank your water. Hey we gotta start somewhere

Huntress ~ Way to go. If we put our minds to it we can do anything. Okay so the strip mall was boring, but cha felt good and ya did it!!

Kayla ~ Your dad is just pissed, and it will take time for him to trust you again, but he'll get over it.

Jello ~ Congrats on not eating those sweet and earning your 3 points.

I think we're all going to do great!!

After I posted about not having my normal TOM symptoms, they hit me like a ton brick. I was cramping do bad. More like some one stabbing me in the ovary! Took a 800 mg of motrin and moved on. I was so thankful that I got my walk in before I started feeling like crap.

Okay, so I just might be going to Reno. I was telling DH about me not getting in exercise, yada, yada, yada..... he is so supportive. He told me to walk around outside the casinos a few times, and just keep walking. The hotel might have a workout facility. I guess I'm still thinking about it.

Have a wonderful 3 pointer today ladies! Plus here's a round of applause for everyone. we made through day one!

Hey there - happy day TWO to all!

Tiffany - Congrats on crossing the 30 lb. mark!!

You can mark me down for 2 points for yesterday. No exercise...

I meant to walk around the neighborhood but first it was raining and then there was police activity. They were chasing someone on foot so when I went out on my balcony to check the grill I just flipped my steaks and jumped back inside to lock the door, LOL. So I didn't want to go for an evening walk that particular day.

Speaking of grill, they had sirloin on sale at the grocery store for 20 cents a pound more than the 93% lean hamburger. How could I resist? But I cut the fat off and stayed in my range.

Jello - WTG on your victory over the peach cobbler!! You're doing great - hang in there 'cause the scale WILL catch up after TOM.

Dyan - I got a minute to check out your cute kiddies! Excellent work, I must say. Hang in there with TOM junk.

Tiger - I am SO with you on the food thing. I think your plan is a great start! You can always tweak it as you go. It's good to be reasonable in our expectations.

I didn't know where to start with the food, either. So for now the points are helping me learn when to STOP, within that I can work on choosing better foods. Like Jello said, surprisingly it doesn't kill me to go to bed without eating anything further.

Huntress - You are the BOMB! Maybe you WILL win, but I'm going to give you a run for your money! Nah, I'm still going to win.

Kayla - What everyone else said, it'll blow over. And don't EVEN think your mom doesn't want you - she probably knows that your dad was a little over the top when he said that and that in 2 days he'd regret it so she's just going to make him work through it.

OKAY, I'VE GOT NEWS! Cafe wen't back to the gym today, breaking her 24-day exercise avoidance streak. When interviewed, she stated, "It's good to be back in the saddle again. I'm not sorry that I spent some time pursuing other goals but in the future I hope to keep up with those things along with with my regular workout schedule."

~skipping~twirling~singing:I'm going to get my 3 points today~~~
