Dyan, I respect your wishes about the prize thing...but I HAVE to have a little something to work for. Cafe...if you want to...we can swap months. I'll do the prize this month, you can provide it next month if you want....No one needs to feel obigated to put up a prize, that isn't necessary, and I also think we need to get it figured out who is in...

So far...it's Dyan, Cafe, Me, Huntress, Kayla...I think Tiger is in...the only thing is...we don't usually hear from Jello until Monday morning. So, is that it? Seven of us? Lucky SEVEN!!!!

Let me know if my brain in on vacation and I forgot anyone.

As far as posting the points...make it simple for me to find. I will keep a spreadsheet here at home with all our names on it. I will check in the evening and the morning, BUT...I think we should post the previous day on the following day. Like...Monday, we all do the best we can and then on Tuesday morning, we post our points for Monday. BECAUSE, sometimes, late at night I want to snack, and I COULD blow my points for the day after I have already posted how great I was. LOL

Well, I guess I should point out that is is almost going to be impossible for me to be perfect every day, cause there is usually one day of the week where we go out to eat and I have to guess-timate calories and stuff...so that will be tough. Maybe we can do this for a month, and then have a weeks break in between so we can not stress over points for one week before we start again!

Ok, I am off to get some work done around this house today!

Take care,
Tiff

Dyan - BIG CONGRATS! 5 lbs is great, keep up the good work.

Tiffany - I'm willing to supply the prize also.

Cafe - I love Starbucks too but don't have one in my neighborhood which makes it easier to stay away. It's not too much of a challenge in the summer, winter is a different story though.

Exercise is going to be my weakest point, been struggling since the very beginning. My daughter has piano lessons on Monday nights now at 8:00, so right there I have a problem since that is usually the time when I would go. Maybe I can walk the block for 30 mins while she is taking her lesson, didn't think about that at first.

Have I missed something...........anybody heard how Jello is making out with the gym people?

Looking forward to this challenge, it may be just the thing to get us all motivated. I know that since it is still summer and hot most people are not interested in talking about the holidays, but come on ladies, 4 months, can't you just imagine how different we will all look and feel this year. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself but most of us got into this about 3-4 months ago and look at the difference already. I for one am excited about the possibility of losing another 25-30 lbs before I see all those family members again that I only see once a year and being much slimmer than last year.

Yesterday was a totally wasted day, got absolutely nothing accomplished that needed to be done. Spent the whole day at the spa, didn't get home until 4:00. That masseuse worked me over, I was like a wet noodle. It was a secretaries day gift from my boss and believe me I deserve it after 20+ years.

LJ, what a great gift!! How wonderful!

Dyan, that 5 pounds is AWESOME! You go girl! I am constantly impressed with you! You will be at goal, and I will still be struggling with the homemade cinnamon rolls. LOL...although for the last couple of days, I have been good, and yesterday I was right at 1000 calories for the day. (even though my minimum was 1450, I was ok with that!)

I am gearing up for Monday and the beginning of the challenge.

I have printed off a sheet with all of our names and slots for the 30 days and I am ready to be tally poster. Woo Hoo! A position of authority!

I still think the water will be my weak point, cause I don't even want EIGHT ounces, let alone more than that! Well, ALL of them will cause me trouble one day or another!

Kayla, I hope you had a good time at your staff party. More teen angst!!!

Well, I am off to make a grocery list!

Hi everyone!

Well now, I don't think I would call a day at the spa WASTED, exactly. You deserved it!!

Yesterday WAS a waste for me. H and I went out to breakfast, something we haven't done for a long time which was really costly to my plan. Then I went to a BBQ at a friends and from there to the football game. This was a very evil day - worst ever since I started with the food thing. Still, I did not go as crazy as I might have before, because I was so AWARE of what I was doing.

But anyways, I'm back OP today (so far!! No, I'm not even letting myself think that.) And I'm ready to get geared up for the challenge starting tomorrow! I LOVE this idea of something to strive for. You know, besides the loss, LOL.

toodles~

So much to catch up on on Monday mornings. I feel so out of it! We went to Indiana Beach Amusement Park Saturday. Yes, there is more than corn in Indiana. Yesterday, my poison itch hit full bloom. I am go'n nuts here! I think I was exposed last Wednesday...how long does this have to last?! I've scratched myself raw in a few places.
The challenge sounds good. I'm gonna try for...
Eat'n only foods that are less than 20%fat (using susan's formula)
4 bottles of water a day (equals 8/8oz)
at least 30 minutes exercise...this one will kill me

I've already started my day with a Little Debbie...blame it on the itch. I'm a baby and I want what I want right now. So anyhoo, that was out of my fat range for the day. Guess I better get exercise'n and drinking that H2O!

I'm babysitting this week. 5:30am to 4pm every day. My boys are 10 and 5...the extra boy is 10. That means Owen, my five year old, is gonna be the third wheel all week. I can already feel my nerves begin'n to rattle.
Off to fix breakfast for the crew!

i'm rethink'n the "less than 20% fat"...maybe that is too hard...
argh! maybe this is the whole reason i tend to be bad sometimes....not enough of a plan....overall, i've just been trying to eliminate junk food, overly processed foods....i find it so hard to count calories...maybe i should count fat grams...keep my fat grams below a certain amount...
i'll have to figure this out....will have a food plan by the end of they day.

Talking

Good Morning Ladies!

I hope everyone had a good weekend! I know we're all ready to start our 30 day challenge. Okay, so it starts today 8/12/02 and it ends 9/11/02. Can we do it? YES, WE CAN!! (Okay my dd watches way too much Bob the Builder)

Tiff ~ on your spreadsheet can you also keep track of eveyone's weight losses, then we can see how much we've lost in the 1st 30 days, both as a group and individually.

Also, another question, I'm not sure how often you guys start new threads, but was wondering if we should, just so we can "Start Fresh".

I want to thank everyone for congratulating me on my weight loss. It's nice to have other people rooting you on.

I am so excited about the challenge, I know we are all going to do great. We're half way through on the other board, and I think I'm in the top 3 (points wise). But the coolest part is that I've lost 8 pounds in 2 weeks. I swear, it has to be the water.....It's only 6:30am in these parts, and I've already drank half my water (32oz or 4 glasses). I should have it all down by 8:30. I try to drink it first thing and get it over with.

So....yesterday I went a little crazy with the food! When we left the Discovery Museum it was so hot and there was an ice-cram cart outside.....well.....I went and did it......I had a Hagan daas bar w/ almonds! . It was sooooo good. So I only got 2 points yesterday. Oh well, today is a new day and the start of a new challenge. Weekends are always the hardest for me .

Not too sure how I'm gonna do this week. My sister, Krys, went to San Diego for a week (She'll be back Saturday) and she was my "baby buffer". While I'm trying to exercise, if one of the kids starts crying she'd get them for me. I have been dreadig this week. I'll have all 3 of my babies w/ no help. My birthday is Wednesday and my Aunt and her family are coming on that day from Minniesota, so everyone one wants to know what I want to do. My sister wants me to go to lunch with her, DH wants to go out to dinner just the 2 of us, my mom wants me to do cake at her house, HELP!! I have no idea what I (me, myself) wants to do! It ALL sounds nice.....But if I don't lunch I won't want to do dinner, and I didn't want cake this year, but will get it so that everyone else can have some......

Not feeling too good at the moment.....

OK, new rule! There simply cannot be this much posting when I'm not here to keep up. I'm sorry but this just will not do! Whatever am I going to do with all you wonderful, beautiful, funny, energetic girls anyway!?!?!

Back at work and it's taken me until now to catch up ... almost. Boss is off somewhere bugging someone else so I'm sneaking in here. Sorry I can't address each of you but I have been reading all the posts.

Had off Thur and Fri. Went shopping big time on Thursday and bummed around. Yes, I did eat at Burger King but gave half of the backyard griller or whatever that thing was called to my dog. Their shake machine was broken, thank goodness, and the fries were cold. Friday, Rich and I went to the festival. I overate, yes, but I also walked and walked and walked. Drank lots of bottled water and made plenty of stops in the porto potties. Yuck.

Oh yeah, Thursday evening, I had my first meeting with the weight loss trainer. I like her a lot and think this program could be a good one. We just covered the general stuff and she took measurements and weighed me. OMG!!! How'd I get this big AGAIN!!?!?!?! A couple months ago, I was "toying with" the 150's. I'm now at 183 officially. Gained over 20 lbs. in 3-4 months!?!? Why's it come back so much faster than it goes away?

Saturday, Rich and his buddies installed our patio doors. They're BEAUTIFUL!!! They worked like fiends all day and I just tried to stay out of the way. I did go out for a pizza and sodas, etc. I had only one slice (would have lost an arm reaching for more!!) and made them take the leftover regular sugary Coke with them when they left.

Sunday, it was back to the last day of the festival but it was too hot to stay very long. I did eat some pierogies which I haven't had in a long time. They were so good but I think I can probably live without them. But there was this ice cream booth.... Reeses PB sundae!!!

So now I'm back to itchies and exes and a new challenge! Sounds good to me. I'd like to join in too. And I don't care about the prize either. I'm not sure of my calories/day goal and won't know until Thursday's meeting with my trainer but I've been good (except for the ice cream incident) and I've been exercising and drinking rivers of water. And I'm a bit worried about my trip to Scotland at the end of the month. 18 days!!! Well, I'm in anyway. I don't care if I don't win ... this time. I'm just going to do my best.

Sorry for rambling. Trying to get all this in before the boss reappears. He's going on vacation for 2 weeks starting Aug 19 and I'll be gone when he gets back and then he'll be at a trade show when I get back. A month without him!!! Whatever will I do with myself.

Talk to you again soon!
