I even notice that the clothing on the mannequins in windows in Seattle looks "plus size" to me, after living here in Vancouver where the mannequins wear the size 00 stuff to display. Not even joking!

Even if I get down to my goal weight I will be considered not slim in this city.
I'm from Vancouver.

I'm in Montreal now, and it's even worse. I'm above average at 135!!!!!! "Skinny fat" is very in.

I have lived in the South all my life (South TX & Southern Louisiana) and overweight and obese is the norm. I don't stand out too much except for places like Austin (which I love). Oddly Austin is a place a visit frequently because they have alot of green space and outdoor activities that my city doesn't offer sadly.

I'm in Ohio. I work in a college town where the people are very health conscious and generally thin. The restaurants focus almost exclusively on healthy/organic/local foods, there's a year round farmer's market and a health food store, there's a gym and lots of outdoorsy activities going on all the time. The town where I live, 10 minutes away, is completely the opposite. People are fat and sedentary and fill their shopping carts with Hamburger Helper and potato chips and donuts.

I should mention that I lived in Mexico for a time and I was definitely the fattest...and the whitest in my social circle. I was like a blobby ghost while there.

I was considered very skinny at 140ish pounds (I'm 5'9) when I lived in the Mid-West. Now that I live in Connecticut I feel average....everyone is very toned and thin out here.

I'm in NYC and I'm the fattest person I know. I grew up in the south, the land of all-you-can-eat buffets. New Yorkers don't touch buffets and people are very stylish. I feel very out of place sometimes and shopping is a nightmare.

I live in CT. Since I was skinny all through high school I never really noticed. But once I gained weight and started working out and dieting I noticed that everyone within the area I live isn't all that skinny. People are "in shape" so to say but you see "medium" sized people rather than teeny tiny people, if that makes sense. It's hard to describe but I saw somebody mentioned earlier "skinny fat" which is kind of what I see around here. It's very rare I ever see somebody with a "bodybuilding" or "fitness" physique.

I live in the "King West" neighborhood of Toronto. I very much feel out of place. Everyone in my condo is tiny tiny, with great hair. I never was a hair person!

I do notice since moving here however that Torontonians at least, don't seem to wear makeup! None of the girls in my office too, but they're all tiny and gorgeous.
