Well the boys definetly were better last night.

Okay...I don't care about how annoying his hair is anymore...I'm a David C fan. His, and my other favorite, Jason's rendition of the Mariah songs were totally cool. I didn't vote... because I'm lazy and the phone was too far from my recliner.

I still like Brooke best of the girls. I think Carly is going home tonight. I don't mind her so much, but she seems to be getting a little overwhelmed or something.

And...my prediction for the final three is Brooke, David C and Jason. I like the Archulator's voice, but he's definitely more my mom's type. She also likes Josh Groban and, I guess, that's who the Archulator reminds me of. He could be in the top three, but he better not bump my Jason off to get there.

Last night wasn't so bad. I actually thought Syesha did really well, but I've always loved that song (have people really never heard it??) She still bores me in general, but I can't deny that she sang it well.

I loved David Cook, but I've mostly loved him all along (except last week).

I loved Jason, but I always love him too.

Kristy Lee has been doing better, but I still want her off my screen immediately.

Carly -- yuck. Always yuck. I like her a little when she's just singing and not doing those "power" notes (aka screeching).

Brooke didn't do so well last night. In fact, she's been going downhill for a while now...

Archuleta still bores me to tears, but he was a little better last night.

I think Carly might be going home. Or Syesha, because even though she sings well she doesn't seem to have enough fans to keep her going.

They're doing songs of Andrew Lloyd Webber tonight.

Wonder what David Cook will do? He always changes things up.

Felt so bad for Brooke. It was so quiet when Paula was talking to her, you could have heard a pin drop.

Yeah, I'd bet on Jason and Brooke as the bottom two, and Brooke going home.

David Archuletta has a very nice voice, but he lacks the personality and charisma to truly be a star - in my opinion. I know there are tons of people who love him. David Cook may be cocky at times, but lots of rock stars are. He's got a killer voice.

One of my biggest frustrations with AI has always been that people vote for a fave rather than the best singer. I never understood why or how Taylor Hicks won at all. I've always hated the focus on the bad singers because they are "funny." I would love to see good singers from the start. But I guess that wouldn't draw the audience AI does.

I am so upset about Brooke and Jason! They are my favorites. I think they both have a great attitude and some interesting personality. They are very modest which is what I love about them.

David Archuletta in my opinion, is the epitome of AI. A young kid who makes it in the bigtime.

I loved Syesha last night. I'm thinking that she, David Cook and David Archuleta are my faves.

Tonites results were a shocker. I guess it is a popularity contest.

American Idol has always been more popularity than talent. Without a doubt, if any two should have been in the bottom two, it should have been Jason and Brooke (my two favorites), but the two in the bottom were the two that I thought had breakout nights! David Cook, I thought, did the BEST! I'm really starting to like him more than Jason, I feel he's showing much more talent and diversity, whereas Jason seems to becoming more limited. I love Brooke, although I think her emotions are going to start to wear on people. I know the whole singer/songwriter thing is all about feelings and emotions, but jeez!

I was sad to see Carly go, but I think Simon was right that she gets to leave on a high note and that is good.

I agree, I hate that it's so much less about talent than about popularity. Brooke and Jason should have been in the bottom two for sure. Carly and Syesha both nailed their performances. I'm surprised Carly doesn't have a huge following, I love her to death. Of course I know she'll do fine for herself, but you know she was shocked that she was voted off. I certainly was! I think David Cook will win it all for sure and follow in Daughtry's footsteps. He's been a star from the beginning.

I may be in the minority here but doesn't popularity and talent go hand in hand in a show like this? I mean, if a singer is talented but rather blah personality-wise then we appreciate them but they may not be our favorite. However, if the talent is more limted but they truly entertain us (hence their popularity) we LOVE them! Just sayin'. ;)

That being said, my fav is anyone but David A ... he is cute and talented but just plain boring!

They were giving away Neil Diamond tickets yesterday on a local radio station. I couldn't get through would love to see him in concert. In fact I'm going to find my Jazz Singer album.

I DO like Jason, but is it just me, or does he seem to think the whole thing is lame? I love his voice, but I just don't think he cares anymore and its starting to show. Last week and this week were total snoozers for me with him. Archuletta was totally boring for me, too. Brooke, I had to agree with Simon, was a total karaoke performance with the guitar, but really good with the piano. David Cook was friggen awesome! I know I haven't been a total fan of his earlier on, but now I'm a total fan. He's great at making the songs his own. Syesha is very good, as well, but not very unique.

I think Syesha and Jason will be in the bottom two this week. Unfortunately, I think the little girl votes will keep Jason in and Syesha will probably be going home. Time will tell...

I though David Cook was great last night. I think that he and Syesha are my faves now. I do feel sometimes that the judges are giving more Kudos to David Archuleta even when IMO he wasn't the best.

The judges were trying to help Paula. She was so confused?! Telling the guy his first song was not as good as the second HAHA and they were on song one

It's pretty much David Cook Idol for me. After a few seconds of each one, I fast fowarded through every song except for David Cook (wasn't hugely wild about the first song, but loved the second song) and Brooke's second song (thought she was really good behind the piano). My absolute least favorite is David A - I don't understand why the judges keep praising him to the skies - his voice just sounds so breathy and nasal to me. I'm also very irritated by his endless "message" song picks - American being the latest in a long string. I'm sure the little girlies will keep around to the end and I doubt David Cook needs the #1 slot to be a huge star - I've already bought everyone of his AI studio performances off of iTunes (haven't bought any of the other contestants songs).

I too am becoming a big David Cook fan. Still love Brooke, wasn't crazy about the first song though, but loved the second. I really like Jason too, but I agree with techwife and don't think he really wants to be there. I have always liked Syesha and think she is actually the one that keeps improving each week though I don't know if she has the fan base to keep her. I actually think she may be the one to go tonight. David A does have a great voice but I just like him, don't love him as much as everyone else seems too.

Techwife--I heard a blurb on the news on my way out and I think I heard Carly Simon was putting out something new.

EZ--saw a commercial for a Neil Diamond concert coming to DC--hubby said that it might be fun to go to...

David A. - Wasn't crazy about his first song. Second song gave me goosebumps at the end.

Brooke - Should have gone last week, instead of Carly. First song didn't like, much better with the piano.

I liked Brooke! But she did have a really bad first song. I really liked her second song though. Jason Castro should have definatley been in the bottom 2!! He was horrible last night. Syesha was good. She shouldn't have been in the bottom 2. David cook was off the hook last night!!! I'm such a cook fan! I'm sad to see Brooke go. I think it should have been Jason!

I just can't understand why people like David Archuleta. In the first week or so, I thought "aww, he's cute," but since then I've been DYING for him to go home (of course, he's not going to). I don't like the way he sings at all -- it's breathy and annoying and the judges ignore it when he messes up. On "Sweet Caroline," which had the worst possible cheesy arrangement by the way (and it's pretty hard to make a Neil Diamond song even cheesier than it already is), he was off the tempo and even offkey at times! How are people not hearing this?? Eeek!

David Cook is so much more talented than the other contestants that it's almost humorous! But as we all know, it's not completely about talent. Syesha has a good voice but she's like so many other singers.

I agree, Syesha and the Archulator are VERY good singers, but both are total snoozefests for me. My mom loves them, especially the Archulator.

I'll miss Brooke. I liked her, mostly because she showed more well-rounded musical talent with both the geetar and the piano, but mostly because she's like me, a hairdresser that cries VERY easily. I would love to sit and watch Little House on the Prairie with her. ;)

I don't know what it is about Jason, but I really like his voice...not really 'talented' per se, but there's just something about him I like. This week is supposed to be Rock and Roll Hall of Fame week...I hope he does really well with that.

And then there's the Cookster. I LOVE him. I really didn't at first because I really don't care for his hair (although then there's Jason with the dreads...not a huge fan of that, either...but it does look cool as long as I don't have to get up close to them...they look stinky to me). He has the clear talent of the bunch and could be voted off next week and still be a huge star.

I hate this stage of the game because I really like everyone left and don't want to see any of them go, really.

I think the Jason doubters will be pleasantly surprised next week. ;)

EZ--you gotta understand my hubby---he is a true homebody and rarely wants to go anywhere unless it's a car or motorcycle show....his even saying MIGHT made me almost pass out from shock!!

Brooke was my fave from the first audition. I knew she wasn't going to win but I still hated to see her go. I love acoustic music (probably why I like Jason too) and the old singer/songwriter style. When her cd comes out (and it will) I will buy it. I really did think Syesha would go before her.

I still say it is going to be a all boys top 3 this year.

Jules he would probably love the Cruisin' Grand we have in a city 12 miles from us...every friday from late spring until the end of summer guys converge on the city with their classic cars! It is so cool! I don't know much about cars but we love to look!

Well, I still love Jason, but that was awful!! Its as if he's doing bad on purpose so he can go home. He did GREAT earlier in the season.

I was disappointed in everyone last night. Rock and Roll hall of fame night should have been WAY better than that. The best was the Cookster with the Who song. And I also liked Syesha's Tina Turner thing.
