I think one week of Beatles per season is MORE than enough.

I have to say, though, that this is the first year I've watched where I don't really want anyone to go! I'm still learning the names, but my bottom three have to be the young guy with the dark hair that messed up his lines last week: great singer and I 'like' him, but I think he's boring. JMO. Another is the rocker guy. Good singer, but I think he looks like old Peter Pan with a comb-over. I just can't get passed the looks, and, sorry, looks have a lot to do with American Idol. The other I don't really really like is the Australian guy.

Once, again, I love everyone, but if I had to see any of them go (which they all will, but one, eventually), I'd not be disappointed if it were one of those three.

I LOVE Carly (that's the girl with the tatooed arm from Ireland, right?) and the blonde with that plays the guitar and piano and Jason...although I really don't like dreads..he's just 'got it'. I like Amanda, but she needs to branch out from the whole Janis Joplin sound just a little or show a little versatility.

Everyone else is just in the middle for me. Is it Carrie Ann? The other girl with the blonde hair? She's VERY pretty, but I don't think she has the talent the other girls have, especially Carly and the other blonde (I HAVE to start paying attention to names).

Dang it...they voted off my favorite....NOW who do I vote for???

I love David Arcuhleta and Carly Smithson...As a vocalist myself, I have to say that they are the best 2 singers, in my opinion.

I like her but, honestly, she did not seem comfortable in the top 12.

I am voting for Jason Castro...dreads got to go, though!...or Brooke. :)

Jason Castro and Brooke are sweetly likable but their voices are about as unique and exciting as lukewarm milk. :lol:

Love Carly Smithson!!! I'm not sure that I loved Amanda but she was different. Here's hoping America gets it right this year. Taylor and Jordin were suspect to me. Honestly the only two American Idol winners that I have loved through and through are Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Non winners--I really like Chris Daughtry, Chris Sligh, Bo Bice, and Elliott Yamin. I changed the channel when I saw Kellie Pickler last night.

Brooke's my fave, though I do think the best voice is Carly. I think the wrong one in the bottom two went though.

I love his dreads, and he just looks so darned sweet :lol: He's my favorite, because of all of the studio recordings I listened to, his voice seemed the best to me. I could actually listen to him.


I really like Carly. She has an interesting background in regards to the recording industry, though, and it almost feels like she doesn't belong there.

I love both Brooke and Carly's voice. Brooke reminds me a lot of Carly Simon's style. Carly Smithson is just a powerhouse. I could find myself singing along to one of her songs while driving by myself in the car.:D I find David Archuleta to be very bland and boring...a great singer, but just not my style. I enjoy watching David Cook perform. He has that alternative vibe that I just love. Jason Castro is definitely unique. He kinda has a Jack Johnson vibe to me...very low-key but enjoyable on a Sunday morning. Michael Johns? I enjoy watching him sing because I think he's just so doggone hot!

Am I the only one who can't stand Carly? I mean, she seems like a lovely girl and sometimes her voice sounds good, but at other times she's simply SCREECHING. I liked her better this past week because she sang low notes and didn't screech as much. The judges seem to love the screeching, though.

I'm not a David Archuleta fan either.

Honestly, I think the person I'm most consistently entertained by is David Cook, but I also like Jason Castro and Brooke White. I think Jason's voice IS unique, actually. He certainly doesn't have the strongest voice in the world, but he has a good sound. I would buy his CD and enjoy listening to it. He's not yelling and screeching and calling it "power." Ugh.

All I can say is...get Kristy Lee Cook out of there! Horrible!

Ok, I liked Amanda, but knew she wouldn't be there much longer. But I REALLY REALLY thought that Christy? (the blonde chick in the bottom 3) should have gone over Amanda. I also thought that Ramielle(sp?) hasn't done that well lately and she SHOULD have been in the bottom 3 as far as I was concerned. I have mixed feelings on the rest as to who I like the best...not Jason. Michael Johns is ok, but not that great. Archuletta? He's good but starting to get boring as he's just not exciting. I like Syesha, Michael Cook, Brooke and Chickezie.

And...I like Carly, who should NOT have been in the bottom 3. BUT...if she got there, it was likely nothing to do with her singing, but with that GOD AWFUL outfit she dared to wear on stage in front of millions. ICK ICK DOUBLE ICK! What the heck was up with that?!? And those tats? She looked much better on the vote-off night. The 3/4 sleeves suit her better, and the top wasn't as loud and obnoxious. LOL

I, for one, couldn't believe that Carly was even in the bottom three! Twas a shame, as she is by far the best women's vocalist. Ugh, the terrible "medley" that everyone had to sing at the beginning of Wednesday's show was bad bad BAD. I'm glad Amanda doesn't have to go on tour to sing more of these terrible things. She'll be selling out shows in bars all over her state and those around it, which will suit her just fine. I think she knew she wasn't going to make it very far and was thankful for even being given the opportunity for exposure. I'll miss her interesting hair and muscley arms.

The Top 12 goes on tour so Amanda will need to continue to sing those medleys(sp?). I think they need to do a better part of arranging the song. That's when they decide who sings what part right? If that is the case, they need to work on that.

It is a shame that Kristy Lee Cook is there but there always seems to be someone that is there way longer than they should.

I rewound Jason three times to watch it over again. He's so cool. But, maybe its just me...or maybe its the dreads...but he looks like a total stoner. Which, in a world with crazy, uptight people, I quite like in a person...to an extent, that is. :smoking:

Carly is starting to wear on me. I liked her Heart song, but lately she seems to be shreiking more.

I like Brooke a lot. She's kinda a cross between Carly Simon and Jewel to me. And I like that they are letting them play instruments now...shows the musicians and not just the people that can carry a tune.

Kristy is growing on me. She's not great, but she is coming to life somewhat.

David A. is a very good singer, but totally boring to me.

Michael Johns is annoyingly confident.

See...I'm a Jewel/Carly Simon folk singing, guitar playing kind of fan. So, I like Brooke for that reason...besides, I like how she can play an instrument, guitar or piano, as well as sing. More of a total package.

Well, I must say that I was totally shocked and disappointed that Michael Johns went out. In my opinion he was by far one of the best ... obviously got lots of talent, looks good and has great stage presence ... unlike many of the others who look like cardboard cut-outs on stage! But it's probably done him a favour ... I reckon he'll have record companies lining up to sign him.

Davis Cook would be my next choice ... I thinks he's very talented ... and looks good, despite the hair-do!

Even though Carly is a great singer she doesn't have a good fan base. Kristy Cook isn't that great but she has the country singer fan base along to push her through a bit more.

I agree with techwife--I am a big fan of Brooke--she reminds me of the female singer/somgwriters who actually play their own instruments. She does much better the weeks that she is playing something.

I look for final three to be the two David's & Jason.

I'm so disappointed in AI now! :( I was a religious watcher from the very beginning, but ever since people started voting for their favorites instead of the most talented, I kind of stopped watching. I think I stopped around Taylor Hicks...and we all know what happened to him. :P

Sadly, I started this thread bc I used to love the show too but I agree with Courtney. I think Taylor Hicks was the start of the downward trend. I haven't watched it in weeks. I'm bored. I don't think anyone currently on the show is an American Idol. They'll do. Kelly and Carrie you felt they were stars. You could feel it. There was never any dobut. I can't say the same right now for this season.

I really like Brooke or I probably wouldn't be watching this year..I quit watching last year when Chris Daughtery was voted off and didn't make it to the end the year Fantasia won. I did love both Bo & Carrie so I made it to the end and even voted a couple of times.

I do think AI is a popularity contest more than a singing contest but isn't that the way the industry is. Fot example, my daughter LOVED Cristina Aguilar when all her other friends were Britney fans. Britney definitely was marketed better at the time and was more "popular" but Cristina always had the better voice...
