Unfortunately work continues to get in the way of me watching this show. I got home about 9pm or so last night but forgot the show was on. So I guess I will see the results show tonight.

I wasn't surprised with who got sent home last night. However I felt so bad for Garrett the way Ryan told him he was going home.

I was pleased with the results show. I was surprised that Joanna got sent home over Amanda. I thought Amanda's perfomance was horrible. You couldn't understand what she was saying. She won't make it to the end. I love Brooke. I didn't get to see the end of the girls night, nor did I get to vote. I saw the boys night and voted for David Archuleta. I like his voice a lot. I also like the Micheal Johns. I totally agreed that Garret had to go. Can't wait for next week!

Since returning to work, I have this same problem. I only work 3 days a week, but wouldn't you know it's Wed. - Fri., and all the good shows (AI, House, Smarter than a 5th Grader) are on those nights. Arrrrgh. Licked it. Picked up my DVR box last weekend. :D

I wasn't surprised about Joanna. I kinda thought she MIGHT hold out longer than the first one, but it really was a poor performance. She was one of the three I picked to go, and two of the three I picked went. I've gotten better at figuring out who's gonna be outta there. ;)

I like David and Michael too. Haven't really decided on the girls, but I like petite little Malubi(sp?), and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Amanda. Go girl! You rock! ;)

David Archuleta so good tonight. When he sings he seems so much more older than his years.

Yep, David Archuleta was good. I think he'll go really far. The judges certainly seem to want him to go far.

I really liked Jason Castro's performance, though the judges didn't. (He's the guy with the dreads). I liked him last week too, and I think he's my favorite.

I think Luke Menard and Jason Yeager really need to go. Ugh! Yeager is just one big ball of CHEESE and I just don't understand the appeal of Menard besides his looks. That weird high voice and that strange song he sang -- horrible!!

I thought Simon was a little mean to the "word nerd" about his crosswords. I'm a word nerd too, so I was much more interested in his story than in drag racing or some of the other ones. Simon seems to forget that there are smart people in America, and that they like other smart people! :lol:

I agree....Yaeger-bomb needs to go! Luke definitely improved from last week, but may have not done enough to stay. But who knows!!

I had a hard time deciding who to vote for. I really like David Archuleta, but I thought Chickezie was really good last night. After the first few I was like Ugh! I'm glad it ended so well. I voted for Archuleta. Can't wait for the girls tonight!

Michael Johns really is a bad singer.. but man he's smokin hot. I like David, the young kid. His voice is great. Chikezie is always awesome. He has a great vibe! :-)

Is it me, or are the girls just not as good as the guys this year? There were a lot of seriously offkey moments last night. The boys may be boring at times, but they're usually on key, at least.

I thought Syesha Mercado did really well, but the judges didn't. I didn't like her before because I thought she just yelled all the time, but apparently that's what the judges want her to do (or "power", as Paula calls it).

The girl who reminds me of a muppet, Brooke White, did well with the Carly Simon song.

Amanda the rocker was so painfully offkey during the verses that my husband and I couldn't stop cringing. I couldn't figure out why the judges didn't focus on THAT. When you're that offkey in a singing competition, I think that's kind of the big news, more so than the hair or the clothes or the dancing.

The judges are right about Kady Malloy (the Britney impersonator) -- she's great when she's impersonating Britney or singing opera, but onstage she just falls flat.

I really REALLY don't understand the Carly Smithson love. She's ok, but not that great.

Something about Kristy Lee Cook bugs the life out of me.

I don't really remember anyone else, but I guess that's enough! :lol:

Gosh this season has been kind of ho-hum. They keep emphasizing it's their best season vocally but I think the orginallity is lacking. Most of them just stand up there and sing their song choices almost exactly like the original and not putting their own spin on things. It's like listening to karaoke. Maybe it's because they're doing 60's and 70's. Maybe when they hit the 80's and up they'll recognize the songs and do better :D BTW, I can't carry a tune so who am I to judge????:o

I really like Brooke. I'm having a hard time deciding who I like the least. My bottom three are Amanda, Kady and Kristy Lee. I don't like watching any of them. I have a feeling Amanda will stay just for the uniqueness. However, I just don't understand what was up with that HAIR!!!!! OMG!!! :?: She looked like the bride of Frankenstein. WOW!

I wasn't terribly surprised by it, but I definitely think rocker Amanda should've gone home. I kind of liked her at first, but she revealed this week that she absolutely CAN NOT SING. Soooo offkey. Ugh. Poor little Alaina Whitaker -- I felt sorry for her. She can sing, but she was boring. I'm glad Robbie Carrico went home -- I didn't like his attitude, and I think Simon was right that America could see that he wasn't "real." Alexandrea had a good voice but was a bit boring too, so I guess that's why she went home. And Jason Yeager went home because he was so unbearably cheesy.

I was shocked that Amanda didn't go home as she can't sing and she looks so uncomfortable when they're all singing together.

I was very disappointed that Amanda didn't go home. I had a feeling she wouldn't, but I really wanted her to. I felt really bad for Alaina, but I wasn't surprised. I was kinda surprised by the guys. I knew Jason was going home, but I thought Luke would be the other. However, I'm not disappointed that Robbie went. Can't wait for next week.

I didn't get to see this week after the guys since my cable company, not mentioning any names (COMCAST!), kept having issues for 3 days straight! Grrrrrrrr Little good a DVR does when the cable's on the fritz. Why does it go out every night just before 8 pm? I wish they had the answer too. :(

Anyway, I don't know how Amanda did, but I STILL hope she stays as she adds a different flavor. No, she's not going to make it to the top 3, definately not, but I love the rocker flavor as compared to the same ole same ole. ;)

I haven't seen any of the guys yet...go figure ;) but I have watched the girls the last two weeks. I actually think they are all pretty good. No favorites so far.

I agree about Amanda...when I saw her audition it was one of those where I couldn't really tell if she could sing. Now I know she can't. I do like that she is a rocker but she should be representing way better than she is. When they showed her attempting to sing with the group she looked like a deer caught in headlights.

Robbie--I loved his audition. It stood out to me but he didn't stand out once he got in the top 24.

I really, really, really like the girl with the dark hair that had visa problems the last time she auditioned. They also say she has had an album out. Whatever. I love her voice.

Okay I like that David Cook did his own take on "Hello" by Lionel Ritchie. Love that song so much so I could tell he messed up the words. I'm not sure I liked the version I just like that he didn't stand up there and try to be Lionel. No one can really compare to Blake's version of "You Give Love a Bad Name" last season. That was awesome! I really liked Carrie's version of Rascal Flatts' "God Bless the Broken Road" too.

I really don't like Michael Johns. He sings all his songs the same. There's no difference. That's boring to me.

I thought the guys did much better tonight.

I do not like Luke. He should be leaving.

When David Cook started I thought oh no but it turned out not that bad. The guy with the dreads was also very good.

Paula was a bit out there tonight.

I liked Jason too--guy with the dreads.

I've only seen the guys and three of the girls. So far I haven't been disappointed by any of them. This is shaping up to be a great season! Lots of different types. I like the guy with the dreads and the Australian guy. The rocking Lionel Richie song was good, too, but I hate his hair.

I didn't see the elimination round last week, but saw the girl that sang Carly Simon with her guitar. Did she make it? I think the girl with the afro and the scarf was eliminated, or am I wrong? I liked her, too. And the girl that sang Crazy On You did a GREAT job.

As soon as I can have access to the DVR, I'll be watching more. I'm really excited about this year!

I'm thinking I might get to watch two nights in a row for once. Two of my programs end tonight but I'm trying to do a quick run through and be home by 8pm. Hopefully all of the staff will show up and getting feedback from the parents won't take longer than 45 minutes.

I missed it Tuesday, but watched the videos online. WOW Chikezie!!! That is probably the most FUN performance I've ever seen! :cp: :cp: I also thought Amanda was fabulous :D

Yep, Chikezie was fantastic. I loved that blues-y start to his song. I wasn't a fan before, but I think he did a great job.

Ramiele was boring but she does have a pretty voice. Syesha was boring and will probably go soon. Kristy Lee is horrible and always has been, but I guess she's getting country fans' votes or skating by on her looks or something. David Hernandez has a good voice but he's soooo cheesy when he performs, so I was happy to see him go. David Archuleta didn't do well, and I haven't really been a fan all along, but he's still going to either win or take 2nd place. I've never liked Carly and I still don't -- I think she screeches instead of singing. I liked Brooke and Jason, but I always do. David Cook is good but (obviously) needs a new hairstyle. Amanda did a good job -- she's definitely different. I don't think she'll last through the whole thing, but at least she provides something different. Michael Johns is starting to bore me, but he did pretty well.

Are they seriously doing Beatles songs again next week? I like the Beatles as much as the next guy, but two weeks in a row is just unnecessary.

I really never paid any attention to Chikezie, didn't think he sang good at all, and thought he should have been gone awhile ago...

Until this week. He even moved up over Archuletta for me. After David's bad performance and Chikezie's really really really good one. We'll see how it goes again next week. Was it a fluke or can he keep it up?

I read that David A probably flubbered so badly because his dad was yelling at him before his performance, telling him he was singing badly and made him cry. I also read that his dad was banned from the StarSearch set for the same type of behavior when David was there at age 12. I felt so badly for him :(

It's such a shame what these "stage" parents do to their kids. I truly believe when your whole life revolves around your child becoming famous and/or they provide you with a paycheck you end up with Britney, Jamie Lynne, and Lindsey.

Beatles again, huh that will be interesting. I think its a bit tough to sing songs many of them may not know but to me it weeds out those that can't truly sing. Like Michael Johns he sounds the same every time he sings a song. That doesn't equal talent or an American Idol to me.

I miss Danny. Every time Ramalamadingdong talks about how she's making so many friends and it's hard to say goodbye to friends, I just want her to mention Danny by name. It's not that I thought he was an excellent singer...I just wanted so badly for him to get to go on tour with his BFF. *sigh*

I think so Jen. I think they have been working on trying to get permission for the past couple of years.

Last night was a little boring. I enjoyed Carly's 'Black Bird'. I usually don't like that song, but she did well with it. I thought Simon was off base when he put down the song itself and why she chose it, instead of commenting on how she performed.

I thought Jason looked and sounded sweet, though a bit awkward. I think he was distracted by the scream girls and their signs. I heard an audio of it online and it sounded perfect though. He has a really nice tone to his voice, in my opinion. I did love Amanda Overmeyer, until I listened to her iTunes version from last week. She was fantastic on stage, but was kind of blah on the studio recording.
