The legs and back dvd was a good workout but it beat me down. I'm sure it will be one of my favs because my upper thighs are one of those areas that I really need work on. I figure the areas that I have to work hardest on are the workouts that are most difficult for me. Like AbRipper X OMG!!! I'm hoping my upper arms end up smaller without a lot of saggy skin. They are going down slowly...at my heaviest they looked like fat girl legs. Plyometrics last night was not as bad as it was last week. I lasted longer through each set of workouts than I did last week. I can't really get that pitch/catch move down. I look real crazy doing it.
Ryler - I thought I was the only one that thought the yoga workout would NEVER end. I'm still close to 200 so I was hoping for a better loss last week. My goal is getting to 150 so I have a lot of work to do. I'm really hoping that by the third week my losses look better. |
@Jigglefree- you are definitely not the person that wonders if the yoga disc will ever end! LOL. Some days I love yoga, other days I hate it. But it is a long disc. I actually started switching X Stretch and Yoga days so I do Yoga on Sundays instead of Thursdays because I have more time. I also have purchased Jillian Michael's Yoga disc so I can do those if I reach the point where I can't stand the thought of doing Yoga X.
Diet is key for weight loss with P90X. I didn't follow a diet closely in phase 1 and didn't lose a single pound. I did follow a diet in phase 2 and so far through phase 3, I'm down 16 lbs. I have 2 more weeks to go. |
I'm still doing my workout and I'm still having fun. It's yoga night and I'm so not excited.
|
Here's a tip for the yoga that many p90x'ers do. Get "Tony Horton Fountain of Youth One on One Yoga". It is only 60 minutes and fills the bill for P90X yoga.

Today is day 80, I have 10 more days to go. I'm very excited about that! I'm down about 16 lbs total so far. I have more muscle definition. I dropped a couple of clothing sizes. I feel physically stronger and healthier. All in all, P90X has made a huge difference for me. When I'm done, my doctor has me coming in for bloodwork where we are also going to look at my cholesterol and other markers to see how P90X may have affected them! I truly believe that it's going to look very good! I don't plan to stop after this, but I do plan to modify a bit and allow myself a day off every now and then. It's been very hard sticking to a 7 day a week schedule, but so far I have not missed a single workout! I did miss one "Legs and Back" on a Friday but made it up on Saturday and did Kenpo after that, so I still have done every scheduled workout.

Today was the beginning of phase 2 for me. The chest, shoulders, and triceps workout was intense because I was using heavier weights. Ab ripper X seemed to zoom by so quickly today. It went by very slow the past few weeks. I guess I'm getting stronger and can go along with the workout without a break. |

It's really hard with 7 days a week but you're going to be a P90x grad soon. Keep it up. If you get bored easily you can try One on One with Tony Horton or Power 90. I think I'm going to give those a try once I finish my first cycle of P90x. |
Ok even though it's my second week, I would like to say I rather enjoyed the yoga last night. I think it's because I did better and lasted longer. I'm still working on swinging my legs through to my hands but I when I tried the jump forward to bring my feet to my hands I did surprisingly well!!! :yoga: YAY ME!! I'm going to be a yoga master yet!!!
Can any of you tell my why I may be so tired. Since I started this program I've been really tired. I'm 47yr, mother to a toddler, married and working full time. The only thing that has changed is I'm a few days older than when I started. Would it be I'm not getting enough calories? |

But now, I have SO much energy! I have to make myself go to bed, because I'm not tired at all. So I think it's just an adaptive phase that you go through. It should get better. |
Good morning. It took all I had to get up this morning. I did legs and back or maybe it did me. I'm going to keep pushing play because I know that there are benefits and each workout I'm getting better. I want to be like the people on the dvd doing everything and not having to take a break until it's time.
EagleRiverDee - Thank you so much for letting me know it gets better. You are right I'm not used to that intensity everyday and doing everything else. I think part of the problem is I do my workout at 10pm because I try to get my daughter to bed so I can get a good workout in or she will want to participate. I was telling my husband this morning I need to try to get it done by 7 so I can go to bed earlier. I'm usually not in bed til midnight and I get up as 7...very reluctantly!! Another day and I'm going to get all I need to do done and it is my endeavor to be pushing play no later than 7pm!!! |
FYI everyone- Tony Horton is going to be on the Dr. Oz show on Monday. In case you want to watch or record it.
I'm on day 83 today- 7 days left! Woot! |
Wow I can't believe it's been 16 days since I started P90X. Sunday's are my weigh and measure day. I was happy to see that I lost 2 pounds and 2.5 inches. Last Sunday during church my Pastor announced we were going to be fasting but didn't give any dates as to when we would start only that we would be doing an all water fast on the 11. Well yesterday morning he announced that the fast would start TODAY??!!! We are only eating Fruit and Veggies from Today until Sunday. I'm going to be taking the week off P90X so that I can stay in line with what we have going on. I will jump back on next Monday. I thought we would have more warning but I'm in but I may see if I can get any part of the workout done on what I'll be eating. I'm so excited about the fast!!!

just started
I just started P90X. Tomorrow is day 7 for me. I've been doing really well on the workouts but I had to go home this weekend (I live in CT but had to go to my high school reunion) and my diet went haywire. I got back today but it is still not perfect. I'm thinking about including running. anyone else include more cardio? and if you do what days do you usually do it? I was thinking about doing the running on days that are just cardio or doing the running on the cardio days but then doing the elliptical or just walking on the days of the weight training. any advise?
