Thanks for the suggestion. I managed to do 45 minutes and I couldn't go any further. Not because I was tired or anything. My mind was racing and I kept looking at how much time was left. I opted for the Cardio X for the last 45 minutes. I still have one day of yoga this week and I am dreading it. I always look forward to the other workouts though.

When I first started I couldn't do any pull-ups unassisted and only 8 push-ups. I can now do 7 unassisted pull-ups and 20 push-ups after 3 full weeks.

Ryler- you rock! 7 unassisted pullups is awesome, esp. after only 3 weeks. :)

Hello...Can I join in with you all? I'm on my first week of P90X and it has been something else. I'm doing better than I thought I would do. Plyometrics was a BEAST!! I did yoga last night and it was brutal. I think I still need to get rid of some of my stomach before I can be as fluid for that workout. I tried to do the whole workout but I had to take several breaks. I really like how I feel after it's over but the not the next day. My whole body is sore...my butt was hurting so bad yesterday it made the bridge and table impossible. I see from your posts that it will get better by week three. I was doing some working out before I started P90X and I'm sure had I not been doing something I would not make it through the workout. I probably won't try any pull ups until I can do a regular push up. I can't wait for Saturday to get here. I can do the stretching or just rest.

What do you all do mostly...stretch or rest on day seven?

EagleRiverDee 10-20-2011 01:09 PM

Welcome, Jigglefree! Stick with it, it does get easier, and wait until you start seeing the results! :)

I know exactly what you mean about Yoga and the belly getting in the way. I cannot, for example, "swing through" from downward dog to crescent pose- my belly gets in the way of my leg! Although I have heard from other people that it actually takes significant core strength to be able to swing through and that even skinny people have issues until they get their core strength up. I also struggle with some of the Yoga poses and for some I do alternate poses because I'm not able to do what they do. I just "do my best" and forget the rest. :)

I always do x-stretch each week. I enjoy it, and compared to the other workouts it's like a vacation. :) Plus my muscles need the stretching- I have issues with my lower back and hips particularly and so the stretching out really helps.

I did the x stretch only on my first week. The second week I jogged for 4 miles. A cold front came through during my third week and I got lazy on my "rest" day so I didn't do anything that day.

Thank you! My 8-year-old son can do 10+ and he called me a weakling yesterday because I couldn't even do 8.

Whats everyone's diet looking like? :)

jigglefree 10-21-2011 09:38 AM

Thanks for the welcome. I was really proud of myself. I had a coaching session last night that didn't end until 10 and I still got my workout in...legs and back. That was a lot of squats and I got almost all of them done. I punked out when it came to the wall squats...I didn't make it to 90 seconds but I think I did about 80 so I'm feeling pretty good about that.

Jamerican - I am doing a lot of protein and trying to keep my diet 50/30/20 like they suggest. My calories are lower than recommended.
Ryler832 - Since I'm not as sore I will try to do the stretching on rest day. See how that goes.
EagleRiverDee - Knowing I'm not the only one that can't do the swing through is comforting and I will just keep doing my best and forgetting the rest!! I also think the leg workout helped my body's sore parts. I feel soooo much better today. I can actually take the stairs and not hold the rail to drag myself up or keep from falling down. I didn't realize how many stairs I go up and down everyday all day.

I'm excited because I've only heard good things about P90X. The good thing is so far this week I've lost 3 pounds!!! I'm at 200 today. Sunday is my official weigh in and measurement day. Hope I some at least 1 inch total.

I'm not following the P90X diet, but rather just eating like my doctor told me. I've cut my carbs and increased my protein and I cut out all processed foods and only eat fresh, nutrient dense foods with the exception that I will eat Amy's Frozen Meals because they are free of all additives and are very nutritious. I don't drink alcohol or any sweet drinks including juice, and I limit carbs. I lose more weight the more I limit my carbs, so I have incentive there. :) I do supplement with a daily multivitamin (I use a powder) and also a protein shake with my lunch.

Ryler832 10-21-2011 12:37 PM

I am not following the P90X deit plan. I find it hard to follow a specific plan when I have a husband and an 8-year-old at home. I am a calorie counter and I don't go above 1400 calories per day. I don't eat out much and avoid processed foods as much as possible. I try to keep a balanced diet but it's really hard getting away from the carbs. Carbs take up about 60-70% of my daily intake.

So far I have lost 3 lb since starting P90X. That's just a pound a week. I don't have much more to lose so my weight loss has slowed down. Today is Kenpo X. I hated Kenpo the first week but now I love it.

EagleRiverDee 10-21-2011 01:00 PM

Kenpo is really fun. I still have trouble with "star blocks" and end up looking more like Zoro, but it's all fun. :)

jigglefree 10-21-2011 03:44 PM

I'm actually looking forward to the Kenpro tonight. I haven't looked ahead like I usually do. I forgot my recovery drink last night as well.

I don't like their meals so I keep track of my calories as well. I'm stabilizing around 1300 calories, eating enough to get through the workouts and not be hungry.

iamerican 10-21-2011 09:35 PM

I am not going to be able to walk tomorrow. legs and back is a beast!

Ryler832 10-22-2011 03:02 PM

I had a 5K run today. I finished somewhere in the middle. I'm just glad I wasn't the last one.

I also did the Stretch for P90X today. Time was just going by so slow when it's Stretch and Yoga days.

jigglefree 10-24-2011 04:55 PM

I'm really enjoying my workouts. I didn't do the stretching on Saturday because I had some errands to run before we went to the Georgia State Homecoming football game. Big Fun and we WON!!!

I'm on week two day two. I've lost 2.25 inches the first week!!! Hoping at the end of this week I have another good loss!!!

Congrats on the loss. This program does wonders. :D im almost finished with week 4 and so far I've lost close to 4 lb. I know it doesn't sound like much but I'm not that far from my goal so I know it's going to be harder for the weight to come off.
