The ankle weights are only to be used when doing specific sitting or laying down exercises for the legs, thighs & back end. They aren't meant to be used while walking & can in fact, be dangerous. Leslie mentions this on 1 of the dvd's....I'm not positively sure which one it is.

nancylmrn: I think I'm going to get the 5 mile advance one even though I don't have the waist band. It sounds like a good one! Currently I have the 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk and three 4 mile DVDs.

Thanks for the insight jerseygyrl, I would never have thought they would harm. I did a google search and read up on it and won't do that again. So to spice it up maybe I jog when everyone is power walking -- whoo hoo

Ok tonight I treated myself to a non-food reward. Since I have been doing the watp dvd's I wanted to make sure I was keeping within my target heart rate so I bought a monitor that has a chest strap and watch. Well Leslie was keeping me where I need to be. According to formula used to calculate THR I should keep it between 101-154 and my was pretty steady between 135-145 with peaks up to 157 when doing the boosted. They had one that would give you the calories used too but with my eyesight I don't think I could have read to readings on the same dial so I opted just for the target zone

nancylmrn: What a cool reward! That's great that Leslie keeps you at your target heart rate! I always wondered about that.

good morning gang

WOW everybody is doing great!

Midwest Mom - so glad you got some new shoes! I have found they are worth every penny! and CONGRATS on the 2 mile walk!

Kim - YOU GO GIRL! awesome!

Nancy - that's a cool reward! it's nice to know that Leslie's keeping your heart rate up there. I know she's got mine up there too

I did 2 miles this morning. I used the new Walk Now and really like it. Brittany is really good about telling you what is coming next and counts down 4, 3, 2, 1 to get ya there.

Hope everybody has a great day!
hugs,
Cathy

Going to try to be more vigilant in my walking...

another 2 miles today and didn't feel dead after it's getting easier to move I've noticed and keep up with the increase in tempo...
