That's exactly how you do it. There are a few people out there who have underdeveloped abs, and could use some ab exercises to build them up, but most of us have nice chiseled abs right there underneath that belly fat, begging to come out haha.

It's hard to keep your BMI in the healthy weight range and get your body fat percentage down that far, I agree. It takes a lot of careful planning and muscle building so that your lean body mass doesn't drop too far.

I'm back up a little bit today, 133, but that's all right! Last night we ate a late dinner, and two giant pieces of cake my husband brought home for Valentines. No way I was saying no to that! (: I know my weights always lower when I eat earlier.

About the abs, I have lightly defined abs, and I'm 5'6" and, don't know if it's accurate, but my scale says about 21-22% body fat (2 months post-partum, so there could be some loose skin still going on there). But I also store my fat much more and easily on my thighs, so my stomachs never been a problem area. It's true that just getting rid of the fat is what gets you abs, not exercise. That's why men naturally have clearer ones too. From experience, I like the way I look better when I don't exercise my abs, because they just stick out more!

In other news, my daughter has slept through the night, 6-8 hours, for several days. Yay!

Mottainai -Yay for sleeping through the night!!! I wish you as much rest as possible

I too had chocolate cake and a delicious high calorie, high fat Valentine's meal last night with the boys. Today I'm up 1.5 pounds, but also retaining water, so hopefully by next Sunday things will be back to normal. 127.5

My big, last Valentine's treat was a DOZEN chocolate chip cookies straight out of the oven (and I must mention the two personal-sized bags of Lay's potato chips, dipped in amazing French onion dip)! Annnd...I was 117 this morning. But I don't really get my "official" weight until Saturday morning, or when I hit a half-pound loss for the week. So it's all good! Glad to hear everyone had a good holiday.

And, yay, Sara! She is giving you some well-deserved rest.

Oh my gosh, Lay's with french onion dip = LOVE. I can't even buy that but once a year, or I will go ape wild.

I went back up to 128-129.8 the last 2 days and it's not the cals eaten because that has been low. I haven't had enough fibre, IYKWIM and my period was late so I've probably been bloated since Fri when I was supposed to get it. I sure was getting the pain! I'm sorry if that's TMI but you know what it's normal and natural part of life so there.
Today back down to 127.2. I can't wait to see that 126 again though. I hope I don't have to wait for the end of my period. I'll be eating lots of veggies to get things moving!

Yeah, I can't even remember the last time I bought it. But am trying to figure out more things that hubby can have, since he's trying to keep his sugar down. He's doing very well, without meds, mostly because he's very strict with himself, and doesn't have donuts or cake or cookies or soda or pasta, etc. I figured the dip would be fine, and, sure enough, his number was good this morning.

Water really helps, too. That is something I've learned since being on this diet. If I have some water the afternoon before a weigh-in, I'll be, um, lighter in the morning.

Another thing that can help, and anyone should check with their doctor before taking this, is fish oil. It can also help mood, memory, skin silkiness, and joint pain, among other things. Take in the morning with food, if you get the go-ahead from your doc, and be sure and get one that's free of mercury. I like the lemon-flavored variety.

Congrats! Wonder if getting more sleep, with Sara sleeping more, is helping? I've heard that getting a good amount of sleep can help with healthy weight loss.

Oh gosh yes, it's definitely helped getting more sleep and that my daughter has been so much more calm lately. Less stress and more energy equals a lot less desire to eat a bunch of junk food to comfort myself!

I'm very interested in getting below 59 kg today, so I'll probably eat pretty light and see how weigh-in goes. (:

I drink lots of water and take omega 3s, although thanks for the reminder.
Going to take an herbal laxative tonight. I gained today and I just wonder where the heck all that food is that's not leaving my body. I need these issues to sort themselves out quickly so I have a good weigh in on Wednesday.

My body is really loving the 135 zone right now. I went back up to 135.4 from 133.8 overnight for no reason and I've been stuck there since Friday. I'm really frustrated.

Maybe we're having repercussions from Valentine's Day...this, too, shall pass.

Finally, whoosh. 125.2. I hope it sticks around. I are something I shouldn't have but my overall calories were low and I burned 514 at Zumba. Fingers crossed.
