Thumbs up still maintaining

Due to the stress of recent events I've been on a couple of binges so am still at 133 lbs. Hope the major part of this is resolved with a meeting at lawyer's on Friday and then I can concentrate on losing again.

The week is a pretty heavy schedule too so I think I will be content with maintenance for now.

Mini goal is to be at/under 130 for concert on Feb. 13. That's about a lb. per week so it's doable .

Have a great week everyone!

You can do it, Dagmar!

I ate a bit too much this weekend, but my weigh in day is Friday, and I plan register a LOSS. I am able to start exercising the end of this week. It'll be nice to try to get in shape again and burn some calories.

I packed a healthy lunch last night and have good foods stocked. So, I plan to have a good OP week!

Have a healthy Monday, girls!

Hello everyone.. is it all ladies on this thread? I wasn't sure so I took out my 'ladies"
anyway, I have not weighed myself. I didnt want to work out yesterday - just went for a long walk and did my arm workout in my house - so I didnt weigh myself since the scale is at the gym. i did measure myself though and there was absolutely no change. Which is scary. I might ahve even gained weight since I started this. I dont know. I know my diet is brutal though so I wouldnt be surprised. This morning I woke up thinking why bother doing all this exercise if I'm just going to ruin things with my diet. So I'm starting a new way. I am planning my food in the morning. hopefully this will stop me from the binge/starve cycle that I'm apparently on. I know that doesnt help to lose any weight. It's a vicious cycle. So I've planned my meals today. I am not eating more or less than that. It's a healthy amount and should work. I'll weigh myself wehen I go to the gym for my aerobics class. I would love to see at least a pound off but I think that might be wishful thinking. I will get to my goal by March. I have no choice. At least my fitness has improved a lot. I can now run up all my stairs to my apartment. I could barely get up them without stopping a few times when I first started two weeks ago- 8 flights is pretty tough.

I'm finally getting a new camera today. We were waiting for the insurance to make a decision on my old camera. I'm so excited! My camera was a bit bulky and now I can use the insurance money toward a nice tiny one! I can't wait.

Congrats to those who followed their plans and lost weight!

My plan went pretty well last week, and I'm really excited to be way down in weight! This is supposed to be my second week of a higher weight due to TOM, so I'm hopeful that I'll see another big drop next week and be at my lowest weight in a few years.

I bought a foam roller yesterday that seems to be really helping my leg. I also did some stationary biking at the gym that didn't get my heart rate up nearly as much as running/elliptical, but every little bit counts for something, and the biking also seems to be helping my muscles. Hopefully I can get back to running soon, though I've resigned myself to the fact that I will probably not be able to do the half-marathon I planned at the end of January

Bikini, I haven't done much measuring myself, but my totally uneducated guess is that measurements will take longer to show up than loss. As featherweights, I think a pound of loss is a big deal but probably isn't going to change our measurements drastically. Someone please correct me I'm wrong though! I'm going to be measuring myself tonight as part of The Biggest Loser Watch Me Bloom Challenge going on in the exercise thread, so I suppose in a few weeks I can speak with more authority on the subject.

I've been SO on plan!!! I woke up to a wonderful 147 yesterday (but am up .5 today--probably due to the fact that I got up 3 hours earlier than on Sunday!!). I have such a good plan for the week! I'm stoked (can you tell?) that I'm finally losing again!!

Everyone have a great day!

Hope you all had a nice weekend!

Saturday is always my weigh in day, and this week it was 143, for about 1/2 lb loss.

Weight is back up today though Saturday night was my husband's 40th birthday party and I spent the entire day running around, cooking and decorating. It was a blast - but my feet were killing me at the end of the night!

I was off plan saturday night and most of yesterday, so a few lbs of water weight that I'm sure will be gone in a couple days.

My week is not off to a great start. Despite over a week of perfectly on plan eating and exercise, no change on the scale. I'm feeling very discouraged about it. My swim on Saturday was okay but not nearly as nice as last week's--and a bunch of stupid little stuff went wrong. I forgot my towel, so had to dry off using my emergency gym towel that I keep in the car (which is a hand towel). My contact ripped in my eye just as a started the 1/2 hour drive to the pool--nothing I could do about it until I got there. I also managed to rip my swim cap--I guess it's time to buy a new one. But on the plus side, all these things going wrong built up some good karma and I managed to get a lane to myself for the whole swim, despite there being only a few lanes available to us lap swimmers. So I guess I should count my blessings. Now if only I could lose some weight.

alinnell: Congratulations! You must feel fantastic! I know how frustrated you've been feeling lately.

Scenestealer and Bikini: I know for me that a loss/gain of 5 lbs equals about 1/2 to 1 inch loss/gain in my waist and hips (the only measurements I care about). That's a 1/2 to 1 inch change in both measurements, not combined. And, although this defies logic, I'm sure a 5 lb loss equals a 1/2 inch but somehow a 5 lb gain equals 1 inch. How can that be?

Mudpie: I hope things get better for you soon. Good luck on getting to your goal by February. My goal is to be bathing-suit ready by March 2, but if I don't start losing some weight soon, I'm not going to make it.

walking2lose: Sounds like a good plan!

Tamsie: I'm sure you burned off lots of calories preparing for the party! Congrats on the 1/2 loss.

Well I took the plunged and weighed myself after my gym classes tonight. NO CHANGE> I guess I should be happy that I didnt gain any weight. There are a million possibilities of why I would not be losing weight and excuses I could think of but instead I'm going to take the positive out of this and keep to my plan. I've tweaked things a bit and hope that my next weigh in shows more of a change than no change. ahah. I'm certain that the changes I have made are doing something, just maybe they haven't translated to weight loss yet. I can live with that for now. It will change. Sadly I can not change my ticker but that's just more motivation to do better next time. I have decided to take a really good look at my diet. Today I wrote down what I was planning on eating. It worked! I did really well today and didnt agonize over eating, not eating certain foods that were not in my plan. I was really happy with myself.

I also got a new camera to replace the one I broke! Yay. That was exciting.

[B]Barbara[B]Good way to look at things positively. I hope tomorrow is a better day overall!

Tamsie Good for you for your 1/2 pound. I was hoping to at least see that but no such luck. Keep it up!

Allison Good job staying on plan!

Laura You work yourself so hard! Way to keep improving!

Goodnight everyone.. tomorrow will be an even better day!

I had a really bad week last week, so I'm glad it's a new one. I ate poorly for just two days, and I'm up a half pound to 138.5 I feel like I'm otherwise working hard, and it's not working so well. Easily discouraged.

Thumbs up It's a daily, lifelong journey

I think we all are doing well just to be aware that we want to change ourselves and are doing something about it. It's hard to stay motivated when we are injured, not losing, stressed, etc. but that's why we post here yes?

I really appreciate the support from this group. It's what keeps me going. I'm developing new life-long good habits for the second half of my life after breaking the bad ones from the first half.

The whole 3FC experience has helped me achieve what 20 years or so trying alone did not - losing and keeping off 13-15 lbs for over half a year.

A big thank you to all the Featherweights and to everyone else on this website.

Dagmar

Yesterday my thigh was feeling good, and today is the deadline for early registration for the half-marathon, so I decided to do a quick 1 mile run this morning as a test and use my roller afterward. It felt good during the run, and I didn't have any pain immediately after either. If my leg feels fine by 11:59 PM tonight (the deadline), I will assume that I can get it into half-marathon shape in the next two weeks and that the injury was a one-time thing caused by not enough stretching or too much resistance training or something. I can already tell I'm going to be really nervous all day - so far every bit of walking I've done, I've scrutinized every step just waiting for the slightest twinge of pain. Cross your fingers for me!

In other good news, today I forgot my water bottle on my way down to the treadmill. You may think that's a bad thing, but I saw it as an opportunity to do the 'sweat test'. You weigh yourself before you exercise, then you don't drink anything during your exercise (or you weigh what you drink), then you weigh yourself immediately after. The idea is to see how much water you lose during exercise. I lost 0.8 pounds in that one mile, which actually put me at my lowest weight in three years!! Not counting it until I can do it on a Monday without exercising first, but it still puts me in a great mood.

Laura I hope you make your deadline

Dagmar -- I too don't know what I'd have done without 3FC, I've been a member since '01... They've been my best years weightloss wise, I may yo-yo the same 10 lbs but at least I'm not continuously gaining like I was doing before I joined here... Glad we can be of help

Bikini -- You must post some pics with the new camera ... I love new gadget/toys ....

Speaking of inches I've lost 1/2 inch on my waist and 1 inch on my hips since the 1st of January .... I've also gone down a lot of water weight/bloating from the Holidays about 7 lbs... I've been sick the last couple of days I ended up not going into work yesterday because I didn't want to spread my germs around, I'm not that dedicated to my job that I go in when I'm sick ...
Thank goodness I did stay home though because around 2pm yesterday afternoon I started getting the chills and could not for the life of me get warmed up for about 5 hours... Around 9pm last night I started to feel better and I feel awesome this morning... Today is my usual day off and I will make it to the gym in a little while... I still can't run because my chest is still congested but I do intend to shovel the driveway and maybe go for a walk, it's my favourite kind of day cold, bright, sunny with no wind ... I love those days....

Good morning! I got up for my run this morning at 4:30 and it was 48 degrees. 2 hours later, I'm fixing breakfast for DS and it's 46 degrees? That doesn't make sense....

I've lost another .5 pounds! There is no turning back now!!

Laura~my thigh has been bothering me for a few days tooo--my quad, right in front near the middle. Any exercises you did to make it feel better? (I've just been stretching.)

I agree--3FC is a lifesaver! I've been here for 2 years now. It has sure helped give me guidance and support!

Just stopped in to say hi.

I'm feeling kind of quiet today, so I'll check in later this week.

Hope everyone has a great day!
