Good morning. Oooo wheee ... I must learn to combat the pounds lost eat something to celebrate thing. Yikes, I probably should not step on the scale today.

Now, goils ... I've got to tell ya something in ultimate sincerity. Have I ever lied to you before???? If I can do this, anybody can.
I am the ultimate schlump. I'm not makin' this stuff up. I seriously have to make a concerted effort to decide to wash my hair today. I bargain with myself to do the dishes. "You can have a nice cup of coffee if you just get those dishes started". I found an odd sock on Friday and it's still sitting on the desk in the office! I do not recall the last time I did something that I consider finished.
I'm deadly serious when I say ... if you can do at least as little as I do ... you can do it too. Good lawdy women ... most days I'm only slightly more functional than my geriatric patients!

Oi that was a bit of a rant wasn't it? Sorry.

Good morning ladies.

Not much going on around here. I went out to eat twice on Friday. I could have done better (but I also could have done worse!).

Yesterday I was back to my regular way of eating. Allison, my day was just like yours! I went to Trader Joe's and to the regular grocery store. My son's tennis team was also have a fundraising carwash so I had my car washed.

My husband and I are going to a movie today; now just to agree on the movie!

My son has a tennis tournament in Chino Hills tomorrow. That's a bit of a drive for me but since I'm on vacation, who cares?!!!! Also, for someone who drives one hour to work (and back!) it's all relative! I don't mind the driving part I just don't like the traffic part. I guess if I leave at 1 pm I will beat the afternoon rush and coming back I'll be going southbound & most of the traffic should be going north. Oh what a whiner I am!

Ok, I better go back to bed for a bit. All this vacationing/relaxing is making me tired (seriously!). Hope everyone has a great day. Jane

Susan - 131.9 - fantastic! I know my goal weight is technically 125 but in my heart it's really 130-132 so you're where I want to be.

The thing with me is that I don't have to bargain with myself about anything. i always work when I'm supposed to, clean the house when I'm supposed to etc. I never procrastinate about anything except losing weight and exercising. Drives me nuts.

Poppins3 My husband isn't a veggie fan...so most anything i make with veggies (except mashed potatoes and corn!) is out--unless I want to make 2-3 seperate meals--since everyone has different tastes. Makes it hard! I think I could lose weight if I lived alone haha

On the good note: I did manage to do yoga yesterday AND walk my dog 2 miles...it's a start. Yoga is one of the only strengthening exercises I actually enjoy...feel so relaxed at the end of it! I'm a little sore today from the 2 mile stroll--makes me want to get back in "normal" shape! Maybe the exercise counteracted the peach pies I ate

I think I'm turning into a new person!

I haven't touched any of the Easter candy or other sweets this weekend, and I'm craving things like *natural* peanut butter and mixed greens!

Oh -- and last night -- I noticed an indented line halfway down my tummy. Is it? Could it be? ABS!!

I think it's really helping that I'm alone this weekend while DH is away with a friend. I just hope I can continue being strong while he's away. The heat -- it's been in the 80s here -- also helps, as I'm never as hungry when it's warm outside.

But, most importantly, I wanted to thank all you girls, without whom I would not be making this kind of progress! I've visited lots of weight loss/health and fitness boards, and I've never found people I could talk to as freely and be as honest with as I can be with the Featherweights.

Thank you so much for all your love and support!!

Hello ladies, I've been quiet because we're on vacation in Sarasota at my folks. We've been very active everyday and I've been able to keep to my floor exercise routine. I've also been very careful with all the eating out and mostly ordered salads with the dressing on the side. My goal is to maintain my weight this week.

This week's Newsweek has excellent articles on exercise and how it improves brain function and decreases risk for cancer.

Well lets try this again, the little cyber space gremlin took off with my post.

My DH doesn't like som of the tings I cook for us(the kids and I) so on thse nights he is on his own. It is ok to be a little selfish when it comes to your health. My DH is understanding about this.Yes he had to adjust but so did I too eating better not just junk. I make a salad evry night for the kids and I and I make enough potatoes fo DH for the next couple days . All he has to do is reheat them. He doesn't complain now (or he will have to make his own supper EVERy night lol)

After my mini dinner disaster last night (pizza), DH and I took the dogs for a nice walk this morning, came home and bathed them both. Today we're thinking of a movie with my in-laws--perhaps 300. Then for dinner a nice grilled steak with roasted green beans and Brussels sprouts. Maybe brown rice on the side. Weight is the same as yesterday, heck it's the same as last week. I've got to get a pound down!!

Allison - 300 is a definite must-see If only for the BODIES baby!

We went last night and I DIDN'T FINISH the bag of sweets I took I also ate out and had my fishcakes with just a plain salad and no dessert. I also managed to resist the diet coke devil!

Today I went for a run (must gmap-pedometer it to see how far) and bought jewellery! Unfortunately my knee hurts now I will have to ice it some more and see what happens tomorrow.

Eating's pretty sorted, today has probably been a little over limits, but meh. It's 8pm now and I don't think I'll be eating much more, but I am craving an apple! Maybe when I get hungry.

Well ladies I'm down another pound I have lost 8.5 of the ten pounds I gained when I quit smoking, I am so happy!! We went to Fridays for lunch today and I had the yummiest lunch, but we also had fried green beans, does that count as my vegetable? lol It's gotta be better than french fries. Oh well healthy supper tonight and back to work tomorrow after being out sick all last week. Everyone have a great week!!

Ok, so last night at the 7-course cheese/vodka pairing, I ate most of the cheeses offered as well as 2 slices of salami and 3 small cubes French raspberry chocolate truffles (and the artisanal cheese store owner even gave me some extra cheese to take home! of course, planning on eating only a portion of the take-home and sharing the rest with friends & fam). However, it was worth every calories, they were SO delicious (and most of those are locally-produced, boutique cheeses), and because I planned for it by eating light the rest of the day - I didn't feel too guilty about the indulgence. I didn't drink all of the 7 flavored vodkas, yummy as they were, I still gotta drive my butt home!

Today I went on a dim sum brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday, guesstimating that to be around 1,000 calories worth of dumplings, rice noodles, porridge & sweets. So planning it light for my dinner/evening snack.

Dinner: Toasted whole-wheat bread with a little cheese, sliced tomatoes with balsamic vinegar and maybe grated parmesan, steamed veggies with salsa (~350-400 calories)

Snack/Treat: 6 oz. fresh raspberries (~ 90 calories)

Also, had a cereal bar before my run this morning (70 calories) and also coffee with mint syrup midday (~50 calories) -- so today's intake I guesstimate to be around 1,600-1,700 -- so not too bad.

Exercise:
1 hour running this morning (about 5.2 miles -- prepping for a 10K at end of April)
10 minutes warmup/cooldown stretches
15 minutes abs & legs workout with stability ball
maybe 20 minutes with free weights

Extra motivation for the day -- two friends @ the brunch commented on my lost weight and my disappearing belly (haven't seen them for about 4-5 months ,and 15-20pounds, ago).

Evening folks. Here's my tip for feeding various appetites. I make meat/chicken/fish, a hot vegetable, potato/rice/buns, salad. The fella's eat it all. I do not eat the potato/rice/bun (or very little of it)
