hey there after being on the EFD now for 10 days I've lost 5 pounds which is great. I've learned more about portion control and have stepped up my workouts which is great. I'm swimming 2 times a week and doing aerobics 5 times a week and I love the way that I feel. Before doing EFS I was a calorie counter and had great success with that. After calculating the calories on the EFS it's around 800-1000 calories per day and I can understand why a 5 pound weight loss with all the exercise, that you will lose weight. It was good for me because i was at a stall and it helped me get over that hump. But now I'm going to go back to calorie counting not because I didn't like the diet but because I was losing around 2.5/3 pounds a week calorie counting eating 1500 calories so I'm going to go back to that. Since I have stepped up my exerices it will even be better with the calorie counting.. I'm still going to post in this forum and check on the others... and also use some of the menus in the books for my calorie counting also so it has been VERY helpful for me.. Good luck to those on the EFS it does work that I can say I'm a believer but I just prefer calorie counter more.

Lou and 32Smasher hang in there and like I said I will still continue to post in this forum and 32smasher we have a tea date in Brooklyn in June..

hi~ I'm on my 4th day of the regular FS. It seems like I've been on p1 for much longer. What you guys are doing is really inspirational. I'm having dreams about food...

32smasher 03-13-2009 07:32 PM

hey negrita what can of diet is that .. calorie counter.. is weight watchers or what. any good luck and hope to meet you in June.....

lou. i guess is know me and you. but negrita pls, keep us posted on your counting progress

negrita75 03-14-2009 09:35 AM

Hey 32smasher calorie countiung is where you count the number of calories that you eat per day. Ir's calories eaten vs. calorires burned, so the more calories you burned vs the caloires you eaten you are going to lose weight. Check out the forum if you like. It's just a bit easier for me and to have more choices, but once again like i said I did lose 5 pounds the first 7 days of the EFD so it does work I just prefer the calorie counting and I was losing 2.5/3 pounds a week eating 1500 cal per day and now thanks to EFS I've been doing more cardo and that was a plus I've been doing at least 1 hour of cardo everyday since I started the EFS 9 days ago and yesterday and today I went back to calorie counting and I'm still doing the required cardo EFS rrecommended.. I'll keep you posted on my weight loss .. I'll be checking in this forum from time to time

Good for you Negrita...we will miss hearing from you on a day to day basis!

32smasher-how is your progress?

Mine is so far so good. I am not following the diet to a T, yet it seems to be influancing my eating. I am making better choices and better contorl over portions. Plus the fact that I gave up eating after 8 for lent (3.5 weeks left) it is really helping me, who knew I wouldn't starve if I didnt eat right before bed!

Well weekends seem to be harder, I did run for an hour this morning, plus I did about 10 min of stairs at the park. Maybe more later!!!

Have a great day!!

32smasher 03-14-2009 02:23 PM

hey lou.. i am doing great a little bit of light headache... i think i have to add the snacks to my diet....

and negrita.. what is the website.. because after i finish with this diet i would like to continue taking care myself..

lou countinue the good work.. i know the weekend is hard for me too. and yes the eating makes a big different on the scale and inches... thats why i started from the begining now i am in my 5th day...

talk to you girls later.. have a bless weekend!

negrita75 03-16-2009 07:13 AM

Hey there lou, keep up the good work. I don't eat after 8 p.m. and like you said it's not the end of the world and you aren't starving :) eventhough I'm back to calorie counting I'm still using some meal plans from the EFS because I've counted the calories and I just write it down in my diary. Wow Lou you really are doing the exercising.. the one thing that I'm going to keep from the EFS is the exercise this morning I went for a 50 min walk and then did 10 min of a warm up for aerobics and I feel great and 2 days a week I'm swimming. weekends are hard but hang in there and you can do it.

I weighed myself again and I can say I'm officially in the 150s woohoo... I have only 30 pounds to go to reach my goal weight so I'm happy about that.. I think I'm going to break dance when I see the 140s :)

32smash it's on this site and its the forum called calorie counter.. After you have lost the weight and while you are losing the weight it does. The EFS is not a long time weight loss program and that's why it's called extreme and even in the book he says it isn't a long term program. calorie counting opens up your knowledge about foods and whats good calories and empty and etc.. and in my opinon it is a long term and maintence plan because at the end of the day it's calories that you have eaten vs. what you have burned is the key to losing weight and keeping it off..

Hang in there I did it for 10 days and lost 5 pounds so it does works...

Hey everyone! I have been following this thread for awhile but finally decide to join today. I have finished 3 weeks of EFS. I lost 4 lbs first week, week 2 I lost 0 lbs and week 3 I lost 3 lbs. Today I am starting the diet all over again. I eat what I want on Sundays and I don't follow all the exercise. I probably would have done better if I had anyway I am happy with my loss:) This diet has been hard, I do stick to the food part of the diet during the week, but I am tried of the food choices:( brown rice and veggies blah:( SORRY!

negrita75 03-16-2009 11:36 AM

Hi Marion, the diet does works but the lack of variety was getting to me and plus I was losing around the same calorie counting with a little more options but I did lose 5 pounds in wk 1. I'm going to incorporate some of the meals in my calorie counting and continue with the exercising..

LighterLou 03-16-2009 11:41 AM

Marion WELCOME!!

I am having a hard time sticking to the food and exercise. But I am working toward a lifestyle change and that seems to be working out for me, and my DH. I do "cheat" from time to time. Like having a drink now and then, as well as eating with my family on Sundays (We always have family over for BBQs)

I do try to eat on a schedule so I don't get to hungry!

Stick with it. It will pay off! I weigh in on Wed. This is 3 weeks for me...I dont know what I will do next...go to FS or go to another cycle of EFS??? we will see.

Talk later have a great day.

marion 03-16-2009 11:46 AM

negrita, hey! My plan is to stay on this for 3 more weeks and switch over to diet book called Body Defining, the reason is this, I can't trust myself to diet without following a made up menu. I need structure:( or I will not stick with it.
My exercise has been about 3 days a week, playing tennis and doing a video that is not really cardio but push-ups, sit ups, lunges etc.

marion 03-16-2009 11:51 AM

Thank you Lou! I have never been on a diet where I have lost an average of 2 pounds a week, so I have to be happy about that:)

My kids are telling me I am crabby:)

Hope you get a great number on Wednesday!!!!

negrita75 03-16-2009 12:27 PM

Hey Marion, the video that you are doing may not be cardo but it's definitely a workout and tennis with all that moving around you definitely are getting that heart rate up..

I do understand if you need structure and the EFS will give you that since everything is laid out for you..

Lou I agree that sometimes you have to fix the diet so that it can work for you so that you won't have a binge and etc... like I said doing the EFS for me was a positive thing I just wanted more variety and since I was calorie counting before I had more discipline with keeping a food journal and making healthy and wise choices with foods..

We will all get to our goals we are determined..

32smasher 03-16-2009 03:59 PM

hey marion welcome.. keep us posted on your progress.. we here to support on another...

Back2Me 03-16-2009 05:52 PM

Struggling but Determined! :)

Hi All,
I am seeing so much support on this thread. I will update y'all on how I'm doing. I was exercising everyday really intensely, and not lost a single pound. It was my birthday last friday, and so I just ate and didn't care. On Saturday, I went to a St. Paddy's Pub Crawl, and I binged on Sunday. I think I am at 123 pounds right now. :(
I am very disappointed and angry with myself. I am so extreme, either I exercise until I hurt my back (which I did), or I don't.
I have to learn to love myself, and I'm finding that so hard to do.
I am on DAY 1 of the Extreme Fat Smash, not following it to a T though. I will be adding in some exercise. Perhaps 45 minutes per day?

I saw the Watchmen, and the girl (Silk Spectre?) looked so good! I kept on trying to find her diet, but it just said the people in Watchmen on put on a very strict diet, but doesn't say what it is.

Ah well.

I really don't want to give up on myself, and I am so proud of you all for your progress!
