HI GALS

:carrot: :carrot: :carrot: USC WINS!!! :carrot: :carrot: :carrot:

My guys had an easy one today! for a change, gonna be tougher the rest of the way out I'm :fr: afraid :fr: . the boys have tough in state games against CAL~BERKLEY and UCLA...anything! ANYTHING! can happen when these guys meet.

MARGIE and PENNY MAC...and that other gal from Ohio...ummm...SUNNYD~ can just barley remember her ;) looks like your $$$EYES came through for you! I think it was a little tougher than the score for awhile. And as for all you TEXANS out there, I am watching, over my shoulder, your Longhorns losing to OSU...hope it stays that way...but....I doubt it! They are too good...we..USC...shall overtake the BCS again this week!!

I forgot to mention that I took a day off work this week and drove my daughter up to the USC medical center for a meeting on her Masters...she liked what she heard and was told that there would be "almost" a guarantee she would be accepted in to their program...but the $$$...well, we shall see. She has a meeting next week with the professor of the PHD program she would love to get in to...it would be a 5 year paid program (if I remember right)...however, he only takes 2 students a year...tons apply! She is a smart kid...and of course WONDERFUL!!...but, well...ya just never know...but the odds are not good...however, since he wants to meet with her, after talking to her last week on the phone, guess if he doesn't use her, maybe he can direct her. PRAYERS for my kiddo...for those that don't know, she wants to work with children and obesity.

POOMOM~ Yes, it has grown there. I remeber when Temecula had one main street...an older guy that worked with me, for my dad's drywall company told me many years ago when I was in high school to BUY all I could in Rancho California, because as the north San Diego county grew it had to grow to there...boy was he right...he bought land in Fallbrook. I did purchase 4 lots in Canyon Lake around 1978...but sold them  BUMMER~BUMMER  in 1981~2...I think I bought each of them for around $18~20,000 a lot....sold them for ariound $23,000 a lot....last I looked...in 1990...they were selling for $60,000....now after the last 5 years here...well, I would be SICK :faint: :barf: :faint: to find out!
Myself and my family have attended Faith Lutheran in Vista for over 20 years.

YOU MAY CALL ME WHATEVER YOU WANT...JUST NOT :nono: :censored: :censored: :nono: what Angie does when she is mad  at me ;)

WILMA~ You are going to do GREAT!

ANYONE SEEN LORI? ;)

Well, off to watch football until Angie and Amanda get home, they went to see MAMA MIA...the ABBA play in San Diego...then it's :hb: :hat: here for the nephew...just family though and one friend for him....

WORSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WORSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WORSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!

mom2fivesweeties 10-29-2005 09:14 PM

MAMA MIA IS AWESOME!

Angie and Amanda will LOVE it! Have they seen it before? My friend, Peg, and I went in late winter last year - it was SO GREAT! What a great show for all of us boomers, huh? HERE I AM!! :carrot:

wilma12 10-30-2005 03:11 PM

Just wanted to update you on how our morning went. I was a little nervous about getting up in front of all those people but I got through it. Many people came up to us afterwards to thank us for sharing. It felt really good. I am glad it's over and it is neat to share what God has done and what he is doing in our lives. We should never be afraid to do that.

Thanks so much for all your prayers! I really felt them!

Good Aaaaaaafternoon!

It's that time of day...already ate my lunch and now it's time to post.

Jill...I make jewelry at the present time. A long time ago my girls were laughing at me because they decided to jot down all the crafts I tried in the past and present. Ok, so I try new thing...often. :D Anyway, I've been doing the jewelry thing for probably 5 years now and have taught 2 other ladies and we sit in my basement (the workshop) once a week and "do our thing." We are going to be in a big craft show in December. My first big one.

Mom2five...the dog thing. DH and I eat sleep and breathe our dog. It's our daughter (beside my 2 grown kids). I will post a pic one of these days.

Michele...I see an e-mail just came in from you at work here...You're holding out on me...what coffee date? I'm crushed that you didn't tell me. You know how I LOVE to hear romance stuff.

Poomom...Mmmmmm...pumpkin spice coffeemate...I will be looking for it in the store.

Penny...My hormone dr suggested the zone diet. I didn't buy the book yet but I will. I did the South Beach last year and took off 20 lbs in about 1 month but gained 10 of it back. I must say, no matter what diet or plan we go on it's all about lifestyle change, self-discipline and God.

Gary...Oh my goodnight!!!! I can't believe at the last minute you did a 180. Oh well, I like that kind of living...spontaneous! I am doing just great. DH is doing good too and together, we are not doing too bad. We've come a long way.

Sunny...Hello Sweetie Pie! I see you've been busy with siggys. You are the kindest of kind! How are you feeling and how is DH? and the "kids."

Well, I do know 2 people posting live in MI a couple hours from me. How fun is that.

Well, gotta go for now. I'll be around!

Lori, Lady is adorable, but Taz... what a face! Gotta love it! Congrats on the great loss!

Hi Wilma! Wow, you're a big loser, too! Great job! It's stats like those that help keep me motivated. I'm glad that your testimony went so well. I find that if I just share from the heart, I can't go wrong.

Gary, you must be soooo proud of your daughter! I will keep her in my prayers. What was her undergraduate degree in? BTW, I moved to Rancho CA in 1982... not a stoplight in town. I hate all the congestion now, but it really was very nice for property values! I haven't been in the Lutheran Church in Vista. I used to sing with the San Luis Rey Chorale and we would rehearse at the Episcopal Church there, and I've been in the Presbyterian Church (since I'm of that persuasion). It's nice that your whole family has been involved with that church.

MKay, what kind of jewelry are you making? I have a good friend who is very into beading, and she's made some lovely pieces. I imagine you have to have a pretty large inventory ready to do a craft show. I hope it goes well for you. I'd love it if you'd post a pic or two of your pieces. Oh, and I'm glad that there are other dog lovers here. I'd hate to bore everyone with the talk about my "kids".

OK, speaking of dogs and Halloween (we were, right?), here are my favorite little trick-or-treaters...

EZMONEY 10-31-2005 11:59 PM

OH MKAY~~ Give me a break! It wasn't last minute...we stayed there all summer....wink!

POOMOM~ if that is the Presb. church on Vista Way, my kids took swimming lessons there years ago, my wife went there a few times since she was of that religion, but then went down to Solana Beach, until I met her, she LOVED our religion (and me) and switched, her sister and brother in law go Presb. in Ventura.

WELL, My daughter and I made chili on Sunday for her chili cook-off at work~~she got 2nd place....her's was the first one all eaten! she said all the people, over 50, told her she should have won, but the judges liked the other guys, last years winner, best, it was HOT, hers was not. Hey, Angie got 2nd place from it years ago, we are going to name it 2nd PLACE CHILI!!!

Well we tricked and treated all night...now time for bed....

mom2fivesweeties 11-01-2005 07:59 AM

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

Well, we got through the trick or treating but oh my were my babies wet and cold! I debated whether to let them go at all, but there would have been a mutiny for sure - they didn't care about being wet and cold - they got TONS of candy since the numbers were down this year!

POOMOM: Yep, that ol' Taz knows she's a doll baby. She has to sit on mommy's lap at all times - she was even jealous of a human baby I was feeding a bottle to last night! She's a pistol, but a little doll! Who's darling doggies were the five trick or treaters? That picture is priceless! I used it as wallpaper - hope you don't mind! My oldest had cars up there and frankly, the pups are much cuter!

MKAY: Your doggie is adorable! Thanks for sending a pic!

WILMA: Glad everything worked out at church! I'm sure you are glad it's over, and don't you feel great that you DID it!

Hope everyone has a GREAT Tuesday!!

:carrot: :ebike: :dancer: :cheer:

wilma12 11-01-2005 08:53 AM

Good Morning!

Halloween is over for another year. We had a grand total of 8 kids come by. We live on a very busy street so parents of little ones don't come by. We have mainly the older ones. So, now to stay away from the candy left over. Fortunately I have lots of help around here to eat it.

Weigh in was the same for me again. I guess I must be plateauing or I need to step up the exercising again. i know I have approx. 10 - 15 lbs. to lose.

Mom2five: Yes, I am glad that the testimony is over but I'm also glad I did it. I've had people I haven't met come up to me to welcome me to the church which was really neat. We haven't got to know many people yet so that was really nice. Maybe we'll have some friendships come through this too.

Gary: Tell your daughter I'll be praying for her. It sounds like you've got yourself a really smart girl. You knew that though didn't you?

Poomom: Your pic was priceless! How on earth did you get them to stay dressed up like that? They must be well trained. I appreciated what you said about being an inspiration. It's this site and all the encouragement I've gotten over the past years that has helped me lose it and keep it off.

mkay: Hi! Sounds like you'll be extra busy with your jewelry with Christmas coming soon.

Hello to all of you out there. Please post. We miss you!

Well, gotta go to work. Have a great day!

PooMom 11-01-2005 09:17 AM

Gary, yep, the Presby on Vista Way where Tom Straeter is pastor is the one I meant. Tom interned at Fallbrook Pres where I was a member for a number of years.

I wish I could take credit for those little doggie ghosts. That was a pic that was sent to me last year and I saved the image. So cute!

Today is another busy one... work and then Worship Committee tonight. I guess I haven't given much background about my church. I am an Elder at Grace Pres in Temecula, and I chair the Worship Committee. We're about 6 weeks away from moving into our new, very own, church building. We're so excited and are praying so hard that we're in by Christmas. What a wonderful time that would be to open our new church home. Anyway, my committee is VERY busy since anything having to do with worship, the logistics of the new chancel, etc, all falls on our shoulders. So, it's busy but exciting!

Well, I'd better get unscary and head to work. Hope you all have a blessed Tuesday!

doitforme 11-01-2005 10:30 AM

Mitchypoo 11-01-2005 12:03 PM

Hi all
Jill, that pic is adorable! I hope you don't mind but i want to copy it and put it on my blog. I love dogs and that is so cute! We had about 8-10 kids too. We live on a dead-end street and it's kind of dark so they don't venture up here anymore. We put our light on, but we only get a couple handfuls. I ate my share of candy... :o

I'm trying to stay on plan, but really struggling. I do well for awhile, but then i flounder. Last night we ate healthy for dinner, i think my dad was wondering where the rest of our dinner was. We got a nice packaged salad at Costco that had a mixture of lettuce, feta cheese, candied walnuts, craisins, a white balsamic vinagrette dressing, so we tossed that and then we added tomato on top, persian cucumbers and some shredded chicken from our baked chicken yesterday. I love a light dinner like that. Dad said he liked it too. But then we had dessert, so today is a new day and i'll try again.

Have a great tuesday...

Penny Mac 11-01-2005 01:24 PM

Hello everyone,
We don't turn on our porch light, so no one came by. We had harvest party for kids and teens and young and young at heart aduts last saturday at church and this sat, for any one else, a hay ride and chil.
Sounds like fun, and it's not supposed to be real cold. The leaves are starting to turn and it is so pretty. The weather is turning colder and it's time to start baking again. The pumpkin pie was great. and so are the muffins i made last night.

Gary, our daughter will graduate from Lourdes college this May, 15 years after highschool, and is looking for a grad school. Either Notre Dame or Wright State in Dayton. Her degrees are Business management and marketing and she wants to get her masters in Marketing. She will be looking for a job for a year or two so she can pay down her school debt.

Poomom, that is some picture, how many goods did they get? and do you get to eat it?

Wilma, congradulations on doing a good job. now that you can do, you will be asked to do.

Maryk, Thanks for the info.

Penny Mac

Tuesday

HI GALS

Well, we only had about 40 trick or treaters....I live on a corner, most of the homes to one side are retired folks and they don't had out candy...the kids know this so they don't usually bother to cross the street to come to my house. We buy for 100, we get usually 10-20, sometimes 0...Angie and I sit out in the front of the garage with the mutts, playing music and visiting...hollering at the kids to come over! Amanda had a :stress: stressfull day, and sat on the freeway for 2 hours, so when she got home at 7 she had to unwind...by doing jump rope in the driveway for our entertainment...and the neighbors! She said it was to work off the 3 bowls of chili she had at the cook-off at work.
Ron overslept! and didn't feel well...hummm...don't suppose toooo much candy do ya? ;) :nono: ;)

POOMOM~ Love the picture, Angie sent me a Halloween card with the shot last year..soo cute!

PENNY MAC~ Great work by your daughter. My kiddo is banking all her money this year towards grad school too. If she stays with the company she is with they will help out with grad school $$$...she just isn't sure she wants to stay with them at the present. She likes the job...working with and testing Navy SEALS and fighter pilots, among other things...but she really wants to work with kids.

AUNT SUE~ Put me down for 3 ingredient taste (chicken, beef, shrimp) egg rolls, and egg fried rice....my kids and Angie will have chicken low mein ;) Say hello to the kiddo for me ;) How are our travel plans shaping up for the next cruise? Angie and I will be in Las Vegas next week-end...maybe I can win enough $$$$ to go! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH...like EYE ;) would EVER :nono: win.

WILMA~ Thanks for the prayers. Maybe your weight is about as good as it will get...don't get too bummed out...just keep doing what you know is right! How are the new jobs working out for the kids?

LORI~ Angie and Amanda DID love MAMA MIA! Did your kiddos feel better "nursing" on all that candy

MICHELE~ Did you spend $670 at Costco yesterday like I did? I had so much stuff on my orange cart that stuff was falling out all over the place...I didn't work so I decided to shop! We haven't been in quite awhile and were sooo do with what we get there. I bet I bought over $100 of meat alone. Freezer and fridge are stuffed...heck, I had to throw some good stuff out just so I could fit my beer in

MKAY~ Glad to see you back and hubby and you doing OK! Prayers. Bring NIKKI over to play!

Well off to the showers.............

P.S. My daughter's boyfriend's dad Dennis has taken a turn for the worse with his stroke, and cancer...he had to have a brain biopsy yesterday...please continue your prayers for him.

wilma12 11-02-2005 08:51 AM

Good Morning!

It poured rain here all night. I was so thankful it wasn't snow. Areas to the north of us got snow. At least I don't have to get out my shovel yet.

Gary: I know I'm getting to the point where weight loss will slow down. I just want to get rid of it all. I still can't believe I've come this far!

Prayers for Dennis. This is so hard to have to go through. Only God can give the strength.

My kids are doing okay on the job front. The married ones are both working but wish they had other jobs. I told them to think about the pay cheques. Youngest DS is still struggling with health issues but works when he can. If the respiratory specialist tells him that he doesn't have asthma his doc is going to send him to an allergist. It's so frustrating to see him so sore all the time. He is going to look for another job that doesn't require so much talking. It's too bad because he really likes the job he's in now.

Penny: Our leaves have turned and are all off the trees already. But, we have had a gorgeous fall. That hayride sounds like fun!

Michele: Your dinner sounded wonderful. I'll have to look for that salad at costco next time I go. Are you settling in? Any luck on the job front?

Sunny and Sami: I know you're out there! You are both in my prayers. Please post!

Have a great day!
