Default Congratulations Craftymom!

Congratulations on your weight loss since the beginning of the year. I'm not very computer literate, so am no help in guiding you in navigating the web-site. I try and keep things simple. Glad to see you back and posting. Have a great week.

Smile Hot~hot~hot!!!!!!!!!!!

HI GALS

It sure is here today gals, I saw the weather report this morning and ALOHA (our weather gal, Miss Hawaii 19??) said it would be in the high 70's low 80's in our area~~She was right! I got home from work, took a cool shower and threw on the shorts and T-shirt~~~OK, so I wear that almost everyday!! Naw, it has been chilly here in Southern California lately, been wearing mostly jeans and sweat-shirts. The sun sure is helping to dry out the ground though from the recent rains...puppies are getting bummed~~they see the "MUD" ending soon~~~then back to "DRY" diggin I will admit that there diggin qualities come in handy from time to time~~~when I was out digging for the drains I put in a couple of weeks ago, RYLEE got right in there with me and helped (?) out, REBA must have thought we were gonna put her in it so she stayed away

Poor nephew Ron~~~getting soooo bored...(my plan is working)~~~he has lost use of his computer, TV and cell phone in the last few weeks, one at a time. 6 weeks ago he lost the computer, before he could earn that back he lost his TV, before he could get either of those back he lost the cell phone (that does EVERYTHING~~~~one reason why he wasn't working on getting TV and computer back)...so now...HE GOT NUTTIN' and he is going crazy...beggin! MAN!! I love having the POWER
HEY, I'm not all bad...I let him "sneak" TV in the living room...he pretends to be "reading" or "doing homework"...for hours on end...just no TV in his room and he is confined to watch what I want to. Wanna know how he loses his "rights"? of course you do....ALL from his mouth!! it just won't shut up...ever...yesterday I caught him arguing with his coach at tennis, Ron said "you didn't say that coach"... coach, "did I say that kids (about 10)?" kids replied "YES! you did coach"...Ron "NO, you didn't" ...coach, "Ron, you were probably TALKING when I said the rules of the game"...Ron, "NO! I wasn't talking."......AAAHHHH.

I put ice cubes in the KONGS for the puppies, they are having a blast trying to get them out, they love the peanut butter in them too. Last summer I made ice cubes with low salt chicken broth for them.

MICHELE Maybe next year for those darn VIKINGS. I agree that the media made too much out of the Randy Moss mooning...I did know about the fans mooning the bus. However, even though "I" thought it was funny~~~and at the same time STUPID....I got to thinking that we sure have diluted our morals...(ME~~BEING THE #1 MORALS FORGETTER!!) in society haven't we? But what did offend me was the interview with Moss after the fine...don't know if you saw it but he said "10 grand (the fine) ain't nothin' to me, what's 10 grand to me? Maybe next time I'll wave my _____ at them!"

Angie just got home...be back later.GARY

Default I'm Baaaack!!

Angie came home from work...she had to go to her daughter's soccer game...the first half, then off to her monthly BUNKO night. I already have fajita's going in the crock-pot so the boys and me are "cool" for dinner! Angie loves them too but tonight is INTERNATIONAL NIGHT for BUNKO so she will eat well too. Each month they have a "food theme" night. Last month it was at our house...CHRISTMAS THEME..so they had ham and all the fixings for that...wish they would invite me just to eat!

OH YEA, MICHELE I also thought that the owner of the VIKINGS was way out of line for requesting that the announcer, Jack Buck, I think, not be permitted to announce the game with the EAGLES because he had said Moss's mooning incident was the most disgusting thing he had ever seen.
SOOOOO~~~~Is this thing with John something to ???????about?

SAMI WAY TO GO on the 5 lb loss...boy girl that is like taking away the meat for dinner for my entire family for 2-3 nights!!! GOOD for you! So glad to hear DD and future DGchild doing well. I really miss your posts! Boy Peyton sure did well this year, too bad the game against the Patriots didn't go well, I know you are not a Harrison fan but he also had a great year...on the field. Glad you are feeling better.

WILMA NO girl...you are not going to have patches on your walls and ceilings forever! I will eventually get up to Canada..if you don't get it repaired. Take care of that high blood pressure dear. Hope your DH is over the flu bug by now. Since both boys have gals...what about a 2 for 1?

CRAFTYMOM and LBSBGONE~~~ This is where you want to be. It isn't confusing...ONCE you figure it out...SUNNY and MICHELE will keep finding you if you get lost

WELL, I think I am up to date on my posts...catch me if you can

PRAYERS for ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL of you and your families!!

Hi y'all! I just wanted to introduce myself and maybe get involved with a group here.

My name is Frances, and I'm trying to get myself into shape using the "Lean on God" method. Meaning, I sure can't do it, so He's gotta carry me!

Just wanted to say hi! I will probably lurk for a little while until I get my feet wet.

Default Hi all!

Okay Gary! Thanks for rubbing it in about the shorts! I am here in Canada freezing my butt off. (If only that could happen! ) On top of that our van broke down and needed repairs so I hopped the bus to work yesterday. The wait was really cold. We're having a couple of storm systems coming through and it's miserable. I may have to come and visit you instead and we could just talk about texture.

Any way, the van is fixed and I can be warm again. At least we have warm houses. I would much rather be at home baking something.

A warm welcome to all you have joined recently. It's so nice to see new "faces" here.

I am trying to eat in a way that will bring my BP to normal. I go back to the doc on Feb 14th so I'll know then if it works.

Sami: YAHOO! Way to go on the weight loss. It's so nice to see you posting again.

Michele: I'm so glad you didn't hurt your back. It sounds like things are on track for you again.

Have a super day!

Good Morning everyone. I am starting day four of my food program. So far so good! Frances the plan you have chosen is the only one! It takes so many of us (ME) way too long to get to it. But, He is the way! A big welcome to you. I am new here too and working on getting my feet wet. I have a great feeling about this forum and the people here.

Prayers to All

Default I am alive!

Hi Everyone....Wow and Welcome to all the new faces. I have gained such wonderful support and prayers from everyone, you won't be disappointed.

Michele-
Good grief about falling. Good that you are ok. Hmmmm...I wonder about the John thing myself. To me...it's important to laugh with someone. GREAT GOING with LAWL. I'm still struggling but once the weather breaks a bit, I will be out and walking.

Healthy-
I am on 5mg of Lexapro and it feels so good to not harbor that anger. Whew! My pretend hormone... DH is going out of town for a week so I will have the whole house to myself (and the dog) and I'm going to enjoy every second of it.

Teel-
DH and I went through this whole scene last year as well. He goes hunting out of town so much over the holidays, during the holidays, after the holidays, and so on. Too much time away...finances suffer along with me.

EZ-
Still don't know is our Nikki is pg or not. We think so...she wants more attention and is HUNGRY all the time.

Wilma-
Praying the blood work comes back with an OK!

Sami-
Great about the 5lbs. I'm going to try harder.

Well all...it's just me n' the doggie for the remainder of the week and into next week. DH is down south (Arkansas) slaughtering hogs with his brother who raises them. Our freezer will now be full of venison and pork.

I've been making more jewelry and loving it. My friend who is going to a jewelry party tomorrow asked me to make her a bracelet she saw on the party's web site. Done and she's loving it for more than half the cost and it looks pretty much like the one on line.

I should get back to work. I will be on line more this week due to DH being gone. Hugs and everyone keep warm...except for those in CA...not fair!

Newcomers-
Stick around!

Good morning

Gary, I totally agree that Moss's response to the fine was inappropriate and stupid, I hadn't heard about the owner's comment, but it doesn't surprise me either.

I'm WI tonight after work and hoping for results. I've had a few slips with some chocolate, think i'm pms'ing. May have to just remove it from the house. Especially before my TOM. But I feel that i'm losing. My BP was up the last 2 times and i'm not happy about that, the one time was maybe because it was right after i fell, that adrenaline can make it go up.

Frances~Welcome! Hope you come back soon.

Default Re: John...

Oh, you guys were posting when i did i guess, i just saw your comments about John. Well, I would like to tell you something good and positive but the fact is, we're friends, we enjoy eachothers company, we laugh together. Sometimes I think he's interested, sometimes i just don't know. But i'm not concentrating on that now. And he knows it. He knows that i'm not dating and love will have to find me while i concentrate on me and getting healthy. Maybe something will happen in the future, time will tell.

Default another day

Still here, just not posting much but am keeping up in reading them all. Thoughts and prayers daily for all of you hear.

Still having some troubles with son - could be worse I guess. He is really struggling with having to obey the rules of the house - and there are many or really to difficult. He will go along for 2 - 3 days no problem and then off on his own as to how things should be changed to fit his needs. We talked to the principal of the school (he is also a good friend from our church) and he said he has talked to Dom re taking more care about his school (he is not failing but is not applying himself at all) and he told him that he understood what was happening at home and that Dom better get his 'act' together to make amends. He suggested that we sit down with him and give him an ultimation - that he has to obey the rules which would show respect and that if he really feels that he needs to be able to 'break' them a couple of times a week that he should consider moving on and living elsewhere. And then give him a specific time frame - either things are to be improved by a , , , , , , or else you will have to remove yourself from our family. We are looking at this time to see if one family we know would consider taking him in for the next 24 months should this be the way Dom wants to go. Nothing like breaking my heart -

Weight wise - sure could be better. I have been slowly gaining and have now put on the 36 pounds I lost 2 years ago plus another 3. So I need to now take time and put myself 'first' in respect to taking care of my health.

I have found that if I make too many goals to work on over a period of even 7 days that it just doesn't seem to work for me - so the last 3 days I have tried something different. I know I have not been getting in enough water so I have been working on that. Yesterday I got in 4 glasses (2 bottles) and I will have that accomplished today before 1:30 so I can see that I should be able to get in 3 for sure with a good chance of 4 bottles today. That would give me 6 - 8 glasses of water. Now when I can keep getting this in every day for up to 5 - 7 days I know I will be able to work on the next goal - veggs. I have noticed though that the last three days just getting in the water that my portion control has come back in line somewhat - still needs work but better just because of the amount of water.

Well, have to run, daughter has been out all morning with her youth care friend and is due back anytime so need to be ready for her. Also have to get some 'school' papers ready for her to do - this homeschooling does take up some time.

Default Devotional for dieters January 19, 2005

January 19

1 Peter 2:21, 24
. . .because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps. . .Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness. . .

It is good for us to remember, as we sit feeling sorry for ourselves because we may not indulge in tasty pleasures, that our sacrifice is not really so great when we compare it to the many sacrifices Christ made. What we are doing is indeed a sacrifice, but for self rather than for others. Christ sacrificed for us in order that we might enjoy life to the fullest. Let us learn from the sacrifice of Christ and remember that He has given us the power to overcome any temptation that might present itself.
Today's thought: Christ has conquered temptation and will be with me!

Talking Here Again

Yeah, I'm here again. It's after 4:00 and I just don't want to work anymore today.

DH will be leaving tomorrow morning for Arkansas. He had a furnace to fix today and it was a pain. He also has to fix the heat in my car and he also has to ck his brakes on the truck he's taking with him. This is the norm for him before he leaves to go on any trip. Waaaaaaay too many loose ends to tie up. Anyway, I'd rather he leave fresh and rested in the a.m. to drive 15 hours.

Sprout-
Boy, my DH can relate to the kid thing. His adopted oldest son filed emancipation once Gary got custody of the kids. He then went to live with mom; he was only 16. Eric stayed with dad; not as gutty and more of a mama's boy. The day he turned 18...he was gone like lightening. Today, Eric and Scott both still live with mom (22 & 25) along with their older sister (not Gary's) and her husband and of course mom. All this in a 2 bedroom house with a makeshift bedroom in the basement. It's a sad situation but they are happy under mom's wing. I will pray for him. Hey, start reading the Power of a Praying Parent by Stormie Omartian. Her books are great!

Michele-
I just love hearing about you getting healthy physically, mentally, spiritually, etc. My friend at the Shepherd's calls it..."Being comfortable in your own skin."

Well, gott jet...close up shop here at work and go home to play!

Thumbs up Some Food for the Spirit...

"Let your patience show itself perfectly in what you do. Then you will be perfect and complete. You will have everything you need. But if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. God is generous. He enjoys giving to all people, so God will give you wisdom. But when you ask God, you must believe. Do not doubt God. Anyone who doubts is like a wave in the sea. The wind blows the wave up and down."
