EZ- I'm in Grand Rapids...3.5 hrs away from Detroit. I hope she's enjoying our cool weather. 59 degrees this morning.
Bunna- My girls were waitresses. I respect all waiters/waitresses and I tip them well due to that respect. Three lbs... Too cool!
Mitchy-
I'm glad you had fun with Mr. Eyes! The thing with your cousin, well, I guess I'd just let it roll as I was told this weekend by a friend of ours. He told me that I should start letting "things" roll of my back more. EEW! Ouch!
Sprout-
I am very sorry for your struggles with DS. Our friend's son is 19 and sounds quite a bit alike. They pray and pray and pray. We fasted for him last Thursday (along with a list of others) but he was a key person.
Doitforme-
Yes, it is a good place for me right now. Don't know where else I'd go. Maybe to our Vet's Facility. I do like old people.
Wilma-
Have a swell vacation. Lucky you!
Sunny-
The car show sounded fun. I like to look at old cars but am not real interested in them. It's cool that you/hubby have this fun thing to do together. I eager to hear about DH sleep results. My DH makes all sorts of animal/jungle noises in the night and sometimes holds his breath. Snore? Yuppy Puppy!
Speaking of puppies...we will probably breed Nikki next year sometime. She is such a gem of a dog, it would be horrible not to broaded her world so to speak.
My newest book...Because I Said Forever is a great book for me to sink into. It's about living in not-so-easy marriages. Basically, our time is worse when I OV and PMS. I've had this so severe that the depression that comes and goes is NOT fun. I get so negative and it's like a cloud hanging. I have been "treated" with many many many suggestions for the last 8 years or so, maybe longer. My lady dr. finally called me today with a "suggestion." Progestrone for 10 days during the month. Apparently, it's when the estrogen rises that makes me crazy so I went on the internet and read some positive things about adding progestrone...I'll be trying it for two months and then we will re-evaluate my situation. I'm having irregular bleeding as well. Age!
Well all, if I've forgotten anyone, it's because I forgot what your post said because I haven't checked in lately. I'm sorry!
Art fair this weekend. I'm going to go so I can see how other jewelry making booths look like. Life Team Saturday night and Sunday after church...I intend to play.
So glad to hear that you had a great time at the car show Sunny- while your picking yourself out one those babies, why not pick me up one too, I can't imagine spebnding that kind of $ on a car either. We told ya to take it easy, relax, now its what the Dr. ordered, Glad to hear Joe's sleep test is done and over, and pray results are good.
Mitchy- glad all worked out at Dr's and pray your soon feeling wonderful, M-kay I love the old people as well, pray all is working out for you as well. Pray the therapy works for you as well, enjoy the art show, I am working this weekend, bummer, but camping most of next week. Vacation Bible school, Catch ya all later, sounds like a storm comeing.
Hi. I'm a Christian lady in Ventura, California. I'd like to have a place where I can share my weight victories and defeats with others who are trying to live in God's will. I'm 50 and need to lose about 100 lbs. May I join in the comments here? Only time I was really successful at weight loss was when I was in a WW group at church and we were all praying for one another. I need someone(s) to be accountable to for exercise and eating right. I know what to do; I just need to do it. Thanks for any encouragement you can offer.
Sorry I haven't checked in-- BUT I HAVE BEEN READING!!
Things with Joe are going well, his daughter and son-in-law have been doing a great job of taking care of him...it isn't easy for his daughter but she knows it is the RIGHT THING to do. I just re-enforce to her that she needs to FEEL PROUD of herself when this is over...alot of issues here, she has been in therapy for years..much to the story but no time now...later I PROMISE!! HA!! Haven't I been promising pictures from the vacation?
Taking the puppies to drop-in at puppy school tonight so I gotta run, taking my nephew to youth group first.
WELCOME CALIFORNIACSR...my wife's sister and family live in Camarillo...my daughter went to UCSB for a year...have worked in Ventura in the past...I live in north San Diego County...gotta go GALS...
Welcome CaliforniaCSR!! You've come to the right place if you want encouragement and support! I personally will pray for you and will support you in anyway i can. I am originally from CA, from LA County, just East of LA. I've lived in MN the last 4 years. I love Ventura! Really nice there, had a surfer boyfriend in highschool and we went there a lot, then about 5 years ago i dated a guy who worked on the oil rigs so we spent some more time there. Is that great spa still there? Yamaguchi's i think? And the best hamburger i had was in Ventura, can't remember the name.....Anyways, Welcome!
Had the epidural and it was a little more painful this time, but i could swear it's helped instantly! I was able to go to the mall, have a bite to eat and go to a store to get some makeup i needed. That is an improvement.
Hi everybody. I have been busy busy busy. Nothing interesting just life in general. Have had a headache for about a week, I am thinking I have some allergies that are worse right now because of the heat and whatever it blowing around in this dry weather. Tried to check in and read the posts at least.
Welcome CaliforniaCSR. Join right in and post often so we can get to know you.
Gary, so glad to hear that things are progressing well with your neighbor and that his daughter is handling things pretty well considering all the family history. My puppies are so busy mauling me I can hardly type. Somehow I ended up with all the grandkids here tonight.
Sunny: That car show sounds fun. Personally my dream car is a '69 Charger preferably blue with a vinyl top or in a pinch a '66 Nova, also blue. I can imagine it would be hard to sleep all wired up. If I don't take meds I can give anyone lessons on staying awake, total insomniac, the pills are like magic
Michele, sorry that your shot hurt but then again it sounds like it was worth it this time. It is hard to be in pain all the time and not be grumpy all the time. I cannot believe it is Friday (in the a.m.) already this week just flew by.
Mkay, sounds like you are taking some steps in the right direction with your reading and your health.
Hi to Sue and Sprout and I apologize if I missed anyone. Like I said it is at my house right now.
I am having trouble the last couple of days staying OP, need to get disiplined as I don't want to start slipping and sliding my way back to my old habits after all this work.
I am off to bed, will try to check in more regularly this week.

I'm back...
Hi CER's!
*WELCOME CA-SCR!*
Hope you do come by again... so many pass by but do not stay.
This is a great group and hopefully we'll see everyone more often as the temps get cooler and more time is spent inside. Summer into early Fall is very quiet around here... can't say that I blame anyone either - I am as guilty! If it's nice I am not on the computer I am out the door!
Come back soon and tell us a bit about yourself...
*MICHELE*
That is a bummer that you keep losing your posts... why don't you write in your Notebook or Word first then you will have it to copy and paste into your reply box if you lose it? It will spare you allot of headache.
Thanks for the Ant Story --- I have read it somewhere before, but enjoyed it again
I am glad to hear that the meds worked so well for you this time and that you were able to get in some shopping --- way tooo cool! I do hope it continues to give you relief!!
*MKAY*
It's good to see you again!
It's been awhile...
Still no word about Joe's Sleep Study. Jungle noises --- you are too funny Joe doesn't make jungle noises, but he did stop breathing and there's where my concerns were. He is sleeping and looking better & his BP is good now that he sleeps on his side, so they may not have to do anything for him. I just want to know that his heart is okay, and I think that if anything showed up they would have called by now - don't you? So I am taking it as a good sign that they haven't called yet.
I am sorry that I never mentioned how exciting it is that you got a new puppy - somehow I missed you telling us. Do you have any pictures to post of her? What breed is she??
I do hope that the Progesterone helps you even out your emotions and helps you feel better, MaryKay. I do know that it really helped my mother through her hard times!! I am praying for you and for good results from taking the big P For you and for your marriage
Venting... that's what we are here for
*SUE*
I am happy to hear that you and the others enjoyed my day along with me Suuuurrrre, I will be glad to be of service and get you a car too We can all go together on a car rally --- sooooo, when are we leaving?
Yes, you did... I am still very surprised by the Dr's order. But have taken the last two days off (Wed & Thurs) from both walking and Curves. Today I put in 2 miles. I plan to go back into my regular routine of Curves 3x a week and walking at least 8 -10 miles a week depending on how I am feeling now that I know what to watch for.
Where are you going camping next week, Sue?
You will have a good time - I bet you have a great time no matter where you are
*GARY*
That is so good to hear about Joe's daughter!
No one deserves to be ignored in old age... my father has done allot to me as well, but I would care for him in spite of it. God will take care of him I don't need to harbor that ill against him. I love my father, but don't always like the man.
*BUNNA*
Come join Sue & I on our car rally with your '69 Charger!!
How much fun would that be...
As far as sleeping - I usually don't have any problems now that I exercsie during the day. It was just because Joe wasn't home that night, I don't do well without him home at night.
I do hope that you are able to get OP again soon... you are doing so well!
My sister has lost 15 lbs now with the SBD and will soon be in "one"-derland (she is 200 lbs. as of today)! I am so excited for her, she is really sticking with it and runs a daycare for 12 kids!! Now how tough is that! She bakes everyday for those kids and hasn't touched any of it - I am so proud of her!!
You will get back OP too --- you'll see... it isn't easy when you feel stressed, but it can be done and you have prooven it.
Life is good! I am feeling much relief from this last epidural. I'm sore at the spot where they injected it, but i am not having the pain hardly at all! I still have some tingling in my foot and down my leg, but i'm walking better, i can go up and down stairs better, i'm not limping......i'm sooooo happy! Last night i still took it fairly easy, i'm afraid of overdoing it, and i slept really good last night. I'm hoping to get some stuff done this weekend, some small projects around the house. And then tomorrow is church and breakfast after that. John will be there. We did talk this week and had a great talk.
Sunny~i know it's a good idea to do that, using the notepad, etc., but i'm usually in a hurry and don't think of it until after it happens. At home i usually take more time to do that. Thank you for the e-card........you are so sweet!
I'm working on a knit project right now, i'm making a knit shawl in a pretty lace pattern with some pretty fawn/taupe color wool that I already had and couldn't find the right pattern to use it. It's coming out pretty nice, i'm happy with it. I'm looking for poncho patterns too, i like the new styles and i think it'll be great for fall. Fall is my favorite time to dress, i LOVE the fall fashions!
Well, that's all for now, i'm at work this a.m. i'll post later.
2 Timothy 2:21
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
Gary couldn't believe what he was hearing. He hadn't been se-lected for the mission because he was just a few pounds overweight. Harrison was trimmer, but that didn't mean he was any better as a pilot. How could they turn him down because of a few pounds? Often being fit is determined by how trim and slim we are. It may not be fair, but it shows the value that is put on keeping in shape. God wants us to be in shape so we can enjoy this life we have been given to the fullest. He intends that we should always be ready to experience all that life has to offer. We can only do that when we take proper care of ourselves.
Today's thought: I am making myself fit for life!
Where is everybody? Guess getting ready for school year to start. I don't mind not having to do that anymore.
I am doing fine and hope you are all doing good. Will check in later when someone wants to chat. For now I am off to the gym then grocery store. Have a good one.
I am feeling so good today i can't believe it! I don't have any pain, only some tingling and numbing down my leg. I got adjusted this a.m. and there was no pain! and I asked him if i could walk or swim (I went Sat. after work), and he said if i feel up to it, go ahead. I still took it a little easy this weekend but overall i'm MUCH better!
Sunday i got up early for 8 am mass, John came and sat with me....., which was nice. Then we all (6 of us including 2 married couples and John and I) went to a place not too far for a nice brunch buffet! Lots of food and fun.
I've been very productive today and i just can't tell you how much better i feel, just without having that pain...
Romans 8:35, 37
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Christ makes us conquerors. He offers us unimaginable power through the Holy Spirit. Nothing can separate us from that love and power. That power enabled Jesus Christ to conquer death. It allowed the apostle Paul to conquer his afflictions. It allowed Peter to overcome his doubts and fears. If the Holy Spirit could do that for those great men, then why shouldn't we be able to believe that the Spirit will help us lose weight? Indeed, we can even conquer obesity through the divine power of God. Nothing can stop us from achieving our goal, because the power of God is with us.
Today's thought: I will burn up calories in the fire of the Holy Spirit!
Would you like your own copy of this devotional?
Michele, I am so happy that you are having some relief from the pain. It can be so unrelenting that it takes over our lives in the sense that we are always aware of it and I know with me it affects my mood if it stays long enough.
I didn't do much over the weekend, our family had a bar-b-que on Saturday evening with fresh salmon, steamed oysters, and all the goodies. I don't normally eat oysters because I don't like the texture but steamed they were really good, same with my oldest son. The restaurant got really busy so we had to bug out for a while but then got back.
Gotta go, we are going out for dinner and a ride with two of doggies so will catch you tomorrow everybody.
Bummer I had to fix my numbers cuz my scales were broken. I will tell you that story tomorrow too.
