We had a busy weekend and a great sermon yesterday as well. We have just finished 1st, 2nd, and 3rd John, verse by verse. It was a great study and I am very aware how much my daily life and relationships, especially with my family and those I spend a lot of time with, say about how much I love God. It isn't hard to tell, all we have to do is see how we are doing with those around us. Sometimes it is a real challenge. Both my DH and I were raised in Christian homes and have raised our children with us in church. In their "tween" years, they didn't always reflect our values and their upbringing. God is faithful when we have been careful to raise the children in the way that they should go. There have been times when I have been dismayed at what I see and I thank God for his faithfulness and that the final picture does not show through until He is ready for it to.
Hi all, a quick flyby tonight. Meetings after school, and then a meeting at church tonight.
I have read everyone's posts and prayers are continuing for all!
Bargoo

Ronni - Congrats on the game! Sorry you had to shiver through it, sure brings back memories for me though!
Gary - if I ever get all my cleaning done, I will certainly help you with yours. But, given our almost 20 years of accumulations - don't expect to see me any time soon
Blessings to all! I hope you have a spectacular Veteran's Day!

HI EVERYONE ~ We are finally moved out of the old place and into the new; we have been tres, tres busy trying to make order out of mayhem, but we are winning. The moving didn't go according to plan, so we are having to redo some things like getting the furniture into the rooms first and then the other stuff afterwards. Even the best-layed plans can get mixed up ... lol!
Dh has spent way to much time and energy moving boxes around from one place to another and back again; think I'll send him on some errands tomorrow. We do need more indoor storage; maybe he could pick me up a small cupboard to use as pantry. That would be a big help.
I fell asleep this afternoon and didn't wake up til 7:30 pm; the exhaustion must be catching up with me, I guess. I need a good long vacation ... hehe! Anyhow, we'll get through this eventually. Just a short note right now, will catch up later, gotta get to bed ...
HI SUE ~ nice to see you back here again; missed your presence: esp your lovely encouraging words ...
Take good care, ROSEBUD

Angie and I are both off work today. I will send the dogs in on her in a bit and we will take them out for 3 miles or so then have our coffee date
Angie has finished her training to become an instructor, registered and certified. She may have a line on starting at my son in law's church. As I have mentioned our "old" church is being torn down for our new community center. Right now we have zero rooms big enough to teach a class in. We could do it in a classroom, we have plenty of those, but I would have to move all the desks out each time.....each full of the kids books...don't think I really wanna do that
Speaking of "veterans" knucklehead should graduate his NAVY basic training on Friday. He will stay in Great Lakes for his schooling. My daughter and son in law are flying out there for the ceremony. I may find out how he "really" is doing then Haven't had much contact with him, he isn't big on writing anything, he was able to call a few weeks ago on his 18th birthday but most of that phone call was the "I love and miss you" stuff.
I think we have an easy day here today. Going to run another donation down to the tennis club for Max that I am making other than that I think I am a free man I did vacuuming and laundry on Saturday, put a new battery in Angie's car last night, we are having homemade pizza tonight so all my chores are done....until she gives me a new list
ROSEBUD I am so happy that you are moved in! Now you have plenty of time to get settled. Praise God for finding the new place before winter really came SCOOTER I know what you mean! I have been in my house since Oct. of '79, almost 30 years! I have downsized several times though so it isn't too bad. Most of the stuff I need to get rid of belongs to the kids but they don't have room for it in their condos....what are dad's for anyway right cheap storage garages
AUNT SUE it is sure good to see you around here again How are the nieces and nephew doing? The fil of your sis? Prayers for all. DAISEYMAE sometimes it is hard to remember that our Savior has a personal relationship with all of us. There is only so much we can do as parents, family and friends, after that it is all about the Holy Spirit's work and the free will of our family and friends.
BARGOO I am so glad you keep stopping by here Continued prayers for your strength. GINNY I am glad you got a bit more motivated! Good to have a co-worker to walk with. I thank God daily for having a wife that encourages me to keep "It movin' - movin'!" RONNI how wonderful for the football season and the boys success! I really loved those high school years with my kids. With my son in track, basketball and cross country for 4 years, daughter in tennis for 4 years and track for 2, step-daughter in soccer and softball for 4 years and nephew in tennis for 3 1/2 years ...it was a real hard on me fun time! Enjoy it while you can...stay warm!
Hey everybody! Ive been sick so Ive just been lurkin... so many posts to catch up on! My eating has been pretty bad, with being tired I just cant find motivation to eat well. God Bless you all!!! welcome everyone!!!!!
Well Angie and I decided to take a little road trip down the coast for breakfast this morning....mutts were mad...not their normal routine when we are both home! They got a walk in, later in the morning, to the vet for Heart Guard. Just took them out for a mile to visit the neighbors... they are over it.
Gary - glad the dogs got in their walk, wouldn't want them rebelling LOL - I KNOW - so much of the "stuff" we have is stored for our California kids. And DS1 won't be out of seminary until next fall, the who knows where they will be! Oh, well - God sent us to this house because it was a great place to raise a family, and now, to store their stuff! Of course DS2 is home with his apartment full of stuff too - and I'm worried about a few books and kitchen utensils that we don't use any more
But - it feels good to get the stuff out of the house and into the hands of someone that can use it - stewardship is one of my passions!
Sunshine - hope you are feeling better soon!
Rosebud - take care of yourself! Those boxes won't run away - plenty of time to get them unpacked. Glad you are moved in - safe and sound - I hope you find just the right place fore everything!
Sue - so happy to see you are still doing well. I am so incredibly proud of you - 126 lbs. lost - that is INCREDIBLE!
Another busy day here today - worked a 10 hour day, then a quick supper and off to chair our church's Administrative Council meeting. It got a bit heated tonight, but I felt that we all worked together to discern where God wanted us to go on the topic in question
Still snow here
The Veteran's Day assembly was amazing as usual. The kids really do understand and behave appropriately. Almost all of them remembered to "dress" for the occasion with the girls in skirts/dresses and the boys in ties. Instead of the usual teenage attire. Not one pair of boxers in sight
Hope you all had a good day - prayers continuing for all!
Hope everyone had a good day today.
My day went well, got in a decent amount of exercise and the scale was down this morning
I've been trying to get some housework done before my sister and her six kids come on Thursday. Her two oldest sons, 15 and 13, are going to help my husband process some meat chickens that we have raised. The boys are so excited that's boys for ya. The house will be quite busy for a few days with seven extra people here. My sister and I seem to end up spending most of our time in the kitchen cooking and cleaning up. As soon as the kitchen is cleaned up from one meal, kids start coming in saying they're hungry again
I always enjoy the extra company though.
Hello! It's so nice to have so many people to visit with on here lately!
Rosebud-so glad you're now totally moved and starting to organize! Take your time and don't get worn out. It's just so wonderful that God led you to this home just in time! Prayers for you and your DH to see a plan and work on it without tooooo much conflict (this comes from the experience of a couple of our own moves It's funny now, but at the time, I just wanted to)
Gary-congrats to Angie and your "knucklehead"-great accomplishments for both of them! Glad your dogs don't hold a grudge too long or they might leave little 'gifts' laying around to get even I'm wondering if you were ever home when your kids were in school? Must have been a very busy time!
rayofsunshine-hope you get to feeling better soon! We've all been sick too and this cold that's going around now is miserable, so I know what you mean when you say your eating is off and I'm finding it hard to stay hydrated. Just keep drinking water and juice, maybe some soup. It does seem to help.
ruth-Enjoy your sister's family's visit! Sounds busy, but it's always fun to have family around. Not sure about the chicken part of it though My mom used to tell us about Saturday chicken "processing" for the Sunday meals, usually while we were eating chicken. I know home-grown is better, but I just get mine from Tyson! Guess I'm a wimp!
Counting-glad your meeting ended up ok. Hope you can get some time to relax a bit!
Well, I'd better get going. Decided I'm going to get the kitchen painted one way or another before DS1 and his family get here! Want the house to look somewhat presentable and must get it toddler-proofed asap. I'll have to take a crawl through every room to make sure I haven't missed anything hazardous or breakable!
Hoping you all have a great day! Prayers for everyone.too!
God looks out for all of us. I'm so glad there are some christians here too! It seems like the closer I get to God every day the more he loves me and makes me strong. The Lord is good and will take care of his own.
Isn't it wonderful to know that Jesus has reserved a home in heaven for you?
Ruth - congrats on the loss! My brother has 5 kids, and I'm not sure I would clean much before they came Enjoy the visit - I do love having family come
Ronni - I need to borrow some of your focus - I hate to paint and put it off as much as possible. I laughed at the thought of me crawling around my house to get a baby's-eye view. But, really - that sounds like a good idea!
Satisfaction Glad you found us! And you are right - this journey goes so much better when we are close to God and walk in his way!
A good day here - I did have a "smile" moment at work. We had a sub in the High School office. She had retired from my office about 5 years ago. When I saw her, I said hi and did the usual small talk. After about 2 minutes someone else came in and called me by name, asking me a typical tech question. The sub got a really funny look on her face - and then shouted - LAURIE???? OMG - I didn't recognize you. She had been vamping the whole time trying to figure out who I was. I guess a hair cut and 90 lbs. and 5 years changed me more than I thought
Well - gotta go get some work done around here - finally having a night at home means that I am behind on my chores.
Hope you all have a blessed evening! Prayers continuing for all!
HI EVERYONE ~ took it much easier today, but did do some upacking and sorting. DH brought in two cupboards for me today; all I had to do was mention going downtown to buy one, and he hopped to it and got them into the house ... LOL! He hates to spend money on stuff like that! DH built them for us right after we first got married and they are still in great shape. Gee ... sure saved a few bucks there!
SATISFACTION ~ GOD promises to provide for us here and in heaven; isn't that great?
RONNI ~ you are so right; moving can be a very stressful time, esp when your movers don't show up and the ones who do, decide to do everything their own way. Nerves can get very frazzled; and yes, DH's did .. but he was laughing by today. Once he got the cupboards in, he saw the wisdom in the plan right away.
COUNTING (LAURIE) ~ I'm not surprised that your former friend/co-worker didn't recognize you; I had that happen to me last year. An acquaintance saw DH and I, and kept asking her husband who I was; and he told her that she already knew, but she kept protesting that she didn't. He finally told her to shush, and walked over and told her it was me; she told him that it didn't look like me , and then he told her that I had lost weight. I think she felt a bit foolish, but I wasn't offended at all!
And if that wasn't enuff, everyone keeps telling me that I look like I'm only in my 30's too; yeah! Although I kinda feel sorry for my poor Dh ~ his friends say "Look, here comes the old man and his girfriend!" Oh, my ...
THANKS, GARY ~ DH went and picked up his ski-doo today; he is so glad the move is over. I think it went well considering we had so little help and had to rush in such a short time. I thank GOD for all the EARTH ANGELS who came to the rescue to help us get this move done, esp this week. May GOD send them all DOUBLE BLESSINGS!!!
THANKS to everyone for your encouragements, well wishes, and prayers! They really helped me when I was in pain and struggling to keep going; esp through the disappointments. You all helped to keep my FOCUS where it needed to be ... on GOD and His perfect provision!
Hi to RUTH ~ wow, that's a lotta company; nice to have them home for Thankgiving and Christmas though!
RAY of SUNSHINE ~ my motivation is simply to feel better; that keeps me going each day, and even if I make a mistake ... I don't worry about it so much anymore. Each new day brings with it, another chance to start again!!!
Have a great night and week ... your fellow encourager ROSEBUD

Not much new here. Angie and I had a nice day together yesterday...thank you Veterans! Back to work today. Got home and she had taken the dogs for a walk...I was a little bummed but then when she got home she said we needed to get the turkey, we donated, to church by 5:00 so the crew could start cooking it. we have our fall bizarre this week-end.
Cool thing....the firemen in our city are using our old church building, we are tearing down, for practice! Cool....I was just e-mailed pictures from our youth director.
Angie and I made homemade pizza last night....up a pound! I should have eaten hers...pretty healthy...mine...Heart Attack Pepperoni!
RONNI ~ I was NEVER home! But loved every minute of it! My kids will tell you it was the best ever! We were always together....my kids are each other's #1 fan!
SCOOTER ~ That is one of the BEST EVER compliments I have ever heard....didn't even know you...cool!
Laurie: That's not a smile moment. That's a right out big grin moment with a happy dance too. What an amazing feeling for you. I remember when people didn't recognize me either. Loved it!!
