HI FOLKS ~ another busy day today; made two trips today. It was cold and wet for most of the day, but just before we came back, the sun came out full force and blessed us for the rest of the day. DH had a big problem trying to rearrange our fridge doors and we spent the rest of the evening sorting our clothes into closets.

When you move, your place looks like a cyclone hit it; our one spare room looks like a warehouse ... lol! In time, we get through it all and finally find our dishes and so many other things that got misplaced. I started out so organized and it all went to pot. I wanted to take all the main furniture first and put them into place, then bring all the small stuff; but somehow that got all changed by our movers. It will take us a while, but we'll get it all sorted out in the end.

SAM ~ Sounds like you have a very busy life there: two part-time jobs + school + running a home + and being a good partner. Now you just have to fit in a little bit of daily exercise somewhere ... LOL!

COUNTING ~ your idea about FAITHFULLY FIT sounds interesting, but I imagine you have to have the book and we can't seem to get anything good at our library. I guess I could see if they would do a inter-library book share.

RONNI ~ seems that GOD is answering our prayers for your situation; step by step, He will work things out for us. We just have to be more patient and give Him time to do His work.

HI GARY ~ glad that you are here, home in between jobs. Yah, you have a lot of posts to catch up on; lots of reading there.

GINNY ~ hope your week gets better for the weekend: have sent up prayers for you and yours that GOD will bless your family with His awesome Peace!

HOPE ALL OUR FRIENDS HERE AND our MIA's have a blessed Friday ...

Take good care, your fellow encourager ROSEBUD ^^PRAYERS^^ are ascending for you and yours ...

Good morning! Well, we had some of that flaky, white stuff on the ground when we got up this morning-uhhh, thanks, Lord, but couldn't it have waited until after the game? I actually do love the first couple snowfalls, but it gets old when it doesn't melt until May!

Counting-marching without seeing the lines through the snow That would be hilarious! I never realized how far south southern IN is until I moved north

Rosebud-glad you're moving is winding down. Now on with the unpacking! Last time we moved, we had the help of a moving company, which was wonderful, but we had them stack boxes in the basement. After they left, we went down to start unpacking and couldn't even see the basement. The boxes had been stacked floor to ceiling in the entire basement! They forgot to check whether the boxes were marked for upstairs or down! All we could do was start with the first box we could reach and do it a box at a time-it was quite the experience!

Ginny-prayers for you and for the stresses to resolve

ruth135-Welcome! I'm also a homeschooling mom. How old are your kids? We have 2 sons (at home)-one's a junior who does most of his schooling at home, but takes chemistry at the public school (kitchen chemistry is a nice concept until you actually start using chemicals in the same room where you are cooking) and also plays football-the other one's in 7th grade now and does all his work at home. Glad to have you here! And, thanks for the prayers.

Well,we got some good news last night! After months (years, really) of not being able to find a steady job in ID, DS1 and his family are coming home!! He's got a job already lined up and the family may be staying with us for a few days. It'll be crowded, as they have 4 kids, but we'll have a chance to do some spoiling of the grandkids! It's like a huge stone has been lifted off our shoulders. Just please pray for travel mercies as they make the long drive.

I'm still having the heart palpitations, but no bad news from the doc, so this must just be one of those things we hormone-challenged middle-aged chicks have to put up with, along with hot flashes, memory loss, and that general feeling that you're losing your mind! It beats the alternative, though and- Until now, that was the only time I was successful at losing weight-not recommended

Prayers for all of you! Have a really great day and nice weekend!

Default Hi there!

I have been MIA for quite awhile! I was having alot of problems getting my computer to connect. They came and installed a new router, which seems to be alleviating most of the problems although continues to say local connection cable unplugged occassionally. But thought I would pop in say Hi say I am doing well. I just recently was diagnosed w/ a hernia by my incision. so will be going to surgery on 1/15 to have a piece of mesh put in but overall am doing well. I am back to being good trying to loose as much weight presurgery as I can. I had gained a few pounds- went on vacation for a week to virginia beach, and all. But pray all is well with everyone... I am doing low calorie so back to counting cals. yippee skippee but usually works best for me... Hi to to all, oldies and newbies. I weighed in this morning at 242lbs so will update my tracker. Have a blessed weekend.

HI Gary - enjoy your Starbucks walk in the morning

Rosebud - oh, my - I can't imagine moving. I'm betting you will see a loss with all of that unpacking! Take care of yourself and don't overdo!

Ronni - child and family moving closer to home - what a blessing, indeed!

Glad that the health issues aren't serious - and I hear ya about the "fun" that comes with menopause! I don't think my body will ever find a comfortable temperature again!!!!

Ginny - prayers continuing! I hope all goes well!

Sue - glad to see you back here! We miss you! Counting cals works well for me!

Hello to everyone else! A good day here - the last day of nice weather, I'm afraid. Gotta get some stuff done around the house though - I'm getting behind. Off to get some bills paid and dinner made. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Prayers ascending for all!

HI GALS ~

OK Gals I will "start" to catch up tonight!

First, about me, it's always about me isn't it?

Thanks SCOOTER but Angie told me, as she was heading out the door for yoga, that tomorrow we will walk the dogs in the neighborhood for 3.5 miles. She won't have enough time to do our coffee walk because she has bell practice early at church tomorrow. There is a funeral for a long time member of the church so all the "Saturday happenings" have to go off a bit early.

I have a busy week-end. My daughter and sil are hosting a fundraiser for a child with cancer tomorrow. Quite a big deal really, my sil has been on the local news and major radio (San Diego) station to promote it. Tim Flannery, an ex-Padre and his band are playing for it. Should be fun. I am so proud of them for doing this for the child. Anyway I will be helping a bit with it.

Sunday evening Angie and I are going to a party for all the trainees in the yoga to celebrate their "earning their yoga teaching degree?"

I have been getting some miles in after work most days. I have upped my goal from 75 to 100 miles a month. Not sure if I will get it but it helps to keep me trying! Weight is doing pretty decent, I keep going between 172 to 174 MOST days...not all but most. I sneak those extra helpings in when I am down...then push away when I go up a bit. I don't know if I will ever be able to go below 170 consistently....just don't think I have it in me!

I encourage all of you to get in the 3FC 5K this Thanksgiving...you can find it in Weight Loss Support A real "whack job" is running it!

Work is good for me right now, we thought we would be slow for another week or two but we picked up a project on a Porsche dealership....wow! some of those cars on the lot are $150,000....I cannot believe people really pay that for a car But I am thankful for the work I am getting there. I had 5 men call me last week "desperately looking" for work. I was able to use one of the men for a few days.

Our family "once a month get together" last week at the pizza joint (niece hosting) went well. Most everyone was there, usually over 20 of us. I had too much pizza of course, but I saved it to snack on over several days. Should have had the "personal" size Angie had instead of x-tra large....dang! But it was good!

Scooter I wasn't going to "over" drink so I ordered one micro brew....then another...then another (when Angie went with my daughter, dil, and a few nieces across the complex to look at purses on sale ) The gal at the counter says "Next time you should just order a pitcher"....

Well I think I have bored you all enough for now....

I promise to be a bit more personal this week-end!

Prayers for all ~ Gary

ronni: I have a 9 year old son and 7 year old daughter. I love being able to homeschool them but sometimes it is a challenge, especially writing assignments, like book reports, ugh. But I wouldn't have it any other way, God put it in my heart even as a teenager that my children would be schooled at home.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

HI!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I am trying to keep my head above water here.......lots to do and lots on my mind. I hope things will slow down a bit- got a feeling my next day to unwind a bit will be Tuesday.

Gary, sounds as though your weekend is very busy, but with happy stuff. Hope you get that walk in.
Doitforme- a hernia? Sorry to hear about that. Hope all goes well.
Countingdown, thanks for the prayers...did you get caught up on your housework? (I'm behind too!)
Ruth, I envy those who homeschool, it is something I wish I could have done with my children (my husband did not support me homeschooling them).
Hi to everyone else.......gotta go attempt to get more housework done.
G'nite

Hi all - hope you had a great Saturday!

Gary - glad more work appeared - I'm sure that is a blessing! Sounds like you are having a fun weekend too

Ruth - my SIL home schooled her kids until they were in middle school. I seriously considered it, in fact - I assumed I would. When it came time for DS1 to enter school, I prayed a lot about it. We lived in a small town at the time. We ended up sending him to public school, but I volunteered in his classroom and his teacher was a good friend and fellow Sunday school teacher. I found that by volunteering and eventually working at my children's school - I was able to make sure that they had the teachers that I wanted and that they received the education that they deserved.

I give a lot of credit to anyone that home schools. It is a lot more work than people think it is!

Ginny - I got SOME done. I did get the closet cleaned that I planned on. It took 6 hours (without a break). But - it is done

I had an unexpected blessing today. DH let me know that his work schedule was changed and that he now has a long weekend off for Thanksgiving. We don't normally go anywhere - being vegetarians, it just isn't the same.

But, after my prayer and devotions today, I felt a real need to go to TN to see my mom over Thanksgiving. It will be the first holiday for her without my step father.

So - I got up online and priced tickets and finally put in a bid on a popular site. And - I was able to get very inexpensive tickets by flying out on Thanksgiving and back on Tues. - which coincides with DH's time off exactly!

God is Good!

I called my Mom to let her know we are coming - and she cried for about 5 minutes straight.

So - it looks like even more travel is in my near future. Good thing we like to fly!!!

Hope you all have a blessed Sunday!

Bargoo & Ronnie - I hope you are doing OK!

Prayers continuing for everyone!

HI GALS ~

I hope to finally catch up!

Angie is at yoga, she finished her "finals" yesterday but a few more gals are going today. When she gets home we will join the group and their spouses for a potluck dinner.

Church was cool today, as usual, myself and several other men had to put a temporary fence back up. It had fallen in the strong winds we had last night. The fence is surrounding the building that is being torn down in preparation for our new community center.

Not sure if I mentioned it but last night I went to a fundraiser my daughter and son in law organized for a child with cancer. They have never done anything like it before. With all the help they got they were able to have Tim Flannery (a local ex-Padres player) and his band play, use a San Diego TV station to announce it, have a well known local DJ emcee it. They received a lot of help from their efforts and with donations and auction items they were able to raise over $23,000 so far

I was so proud of them. All I had to do was sit back, after I did my job of taking all the items for the auction from the tennis club to the venue, and relax....and keep an eye out to assist where needed. They were so grown up!

Well I will end this and review and re-post some responses!

LAURIE ~ I am having a fun week-end and could use a nap The pick up of the Porsche remodel was good for the company, I wasn't, but several of the guys that are working on it now were out of work. It isn't a huge project for me but it does keep me close to home....10 miles...for a few weeks! Awesome about the trip to see your mom! Yep...I do love that turkey....but all those "vegetarian" side dishes aren't too bad! we didn't make it to Starbucks because of Angie's bell practice, but we did get out for 3.5 miles in great weather yesterday. So far a day of rest for those "personal trainers"....and they are not happy about that! Ready to clean my closets?

GINNY ~ I hope you get a break before Tuesday. Angie and I have the day off too. It's tough sometimes, with all the stress in our lives. Thank goodness we know where to rest, but we too fail to do that at times don't we? Tough to wait on the Lord and be patient!

RUTH ~ You are one of the youngsters here So cool to live on a farm, way different from where I live, in a track of homes. We have country all around us....but it isn't "country" here in southern California! My kids are all grown up, my son and daughter are 27 and 25, both married. Looking forward to knowing you.

RONNI ~ Hugs for you as you welcome your son back home! I hope it works out for all of you. Continued prayers for all the insurance issues to be complete and leaving you with comfort.

AUNT SUE ~ Good to see you I hope the hernia surgery goes well. I have had a hernia for almost 5 years now! One of these days I am going to get it taken care of, hasn't been too much trouble...yet

SAM ~ Hi "dork" (another thread gals) Good to see you were and You too are one of the kids here We will be here to help you in your journey.

ROSEBUD ~ How is the move going?

DAISEYMAE ~ We are here to support you in your journey, come on back!

MPAIGEW ~ My step-daughter is in college in NYC. I love chili but haven't had it with venison since I was about 10. Welcome!

WILMA ~ TRISH ~ KAREN ~ RAY ~ COURTNEY ~ LORI ~ And ALL I FORGET AT MY SENIOR MOMENT ....HELLO!

Another short hello here......
Countingdown- what wonderful news about your Thanksgiving day trip!
Isn't it great to see His hand at work- giving your Dh the time off and you getting the tickets for just the right time? God's timing is so perfect. I am so happy for you.

Gary- that fundraiser sounds great.....bet you were so proud of your DD and SIL. Enjoy your pot luck dinner, they are so much fun!

Thanks for the encouraging comments to everyone. I am still up over my eyeballs here, and today was no different. Tuesday will be a bit busy, but hopefully a bit more restful... Our church service today was just perfect- great hymns and a great message. I am so thankful for our church- and I so needed what I heard today. It's all gonna be ok, right? A mighty fortress is our God!

WI tomorrow, and I am sure I am up. I just did not focus well this week, my plate was a bit too busy.

Guess I'd better go.....Hi to everyone, we miss hearing from you.G'nite

Hello! What a weekend it has been! Snowed through the whole football game Friday! I don't know how many calories shivering burns, but you'd think I'd be 10 pounds lighter today There were a few more fumbles than usual due to cold hands, I think, but our team is going on to the semi-finals, which will be played in the UNI dome No blankets or plastic rain gear! DS2 had the weekend off from practices, so we went to see mil and fil Sunday. Beat them at wist (an old card game) which is very unusual for DH and me, as we're newbies at it! Now, back to the schooling and housework-must get ready for DS1 and family They'll be leaving ID today, so just praying for safety and easy driving (and quiet kids).

Gary-congrats to Angie! And, to your DD and SIL. Raising that kind of money is an incredible accomplishment and for such a good cause.

Counting-so glad it's working for you to go see your mom. Those first couple holidays are always the hardest to handle. I know she'll appreciate you being there. for both of you!

Ginny- for you too. Hope you really do get some time to wind down and relax a bit!

doitforme-ouch! on that hernia. Be careful not to make it worse before they repair it! And, welcome back!

Ruth-writing assignments-yuck!-my kids hate those It's easier to get them to weed the garden in the snow! I think it's a boy thing, but I did get DS2 interested when I told him to write a book-he's, of course, writing a military novel along the lines of Tom Clancy. Hates it when I check for grammar, though!

Hope everyone else is doing well. Prayers for all, especially Bargoo and Rosebud to both of you! Have a great day!

Thanks to all for the prayers and good wishes. It is remarkable how prayer changes things. I still have cancer, but have peace that can only come from God.

Good morning!
Well, another week begins, another week to allow God to do what He does best and shower us with His mercy, love and peace. (now if only I was wise enough to trust Him all the time!)

Bargoo- how are you feeling? We serve an awesome God....His mercies never come to an end. I will be praying for you.

Ronni- football is more fun in the snow! (I love watching football in cold weather!). Congrats to your team for making it into the semi's. travelling mercies to your family when they depart.

Well, no big surprise, but I was up this week. (did not even check how much, I know I was up.........grrrrrrrr) I did get to my meeting which hopefully kicked me in the can to motivate me, and got a walk in this am with a friend/coworker.

Guess I'd better go get ready to return to work.
