I was exhausted today, both mentally and physically although I think mostly mentally...it's been a crazy busy week gearing up for the start of our summer program and with DH being out of town

last sunday I ran between 1.5-2 miles on a trail and walked back....on Monday through Wednesday I ran HIIT intervals and did high incline walking at the gym....Thursday I was physically very sore and so ran a light mile with walking intervals and did incline walking...today I was just DONE....I barely squeezed my gym time in this morning, between interviewing job applicants and taking DH's truck to the airport....I spent 45 minutes doing incline walking and called it good...

I need a treat and my jammies and to snuggle with DH and finally get a good night's rest (I don't sleep good while he's gone)

Loading up a new playlist while I wait for the weather to warm up so I can head out for a run! I'm doing a 5K training program and today is speed work. I only have two speeds - slow and even slower - so I don't know how that's gonna work.

Who else is lacing up their kicks today?

So, today's run was:
1 mile warm-up
hard 1/2 mile
easy 1/2 mile
hard 1/2 mile
1 mile cool down

I jammed it on the first hard 1/2. It was NOT easy....I thought I was gonna die. I was definitely pushing myself as hard as I could.

It was so difficult to keep running for the easy 1/2. I desperately wanted to walk. But I ran. And I was kinna dragging for the second hard 1/2; my pace really wasn't much more than the easy 1/2.

Overall, I was pretty much thinking the run sucked. And then I uploaded my run from my Nike+, logged into my account, and discovered this:

Holy crap, Batman. Talk about setting a PR! That's almost a "normal" running pace.

2 miles with speed work (intervals of 2 minutes hard, 2 minutes easy). So so so so humid. Epic sweat fest.

I got up early on Saturday and did a short run (for me) - 1/2 hour. Just the fact that I set my alarm for 6am on a Saturday to run before my very full day is a success in my book. . I did yoga yesterday and today, probably won't get in another run til Wednesday. 2-3 times a week seems to be my sweet spot.

Hi everyone. It's been a very long week...and it's ONLY Wednesday. Finally got a three mile run in after work. Didn't want to do it, but glad I did. Feel much better.

I graduated my c25k training on Monday! I thought I had to do 2 more days of Week 9 but apparently this week is just a 1 day run! I did the W9D1 again today (it told me I graduated again LOL!) and I'm going to do it again on Friday. Next week I am going to add 3-4 minutes to the 30 minutes I currently run and get my distance up. I only run at 3.8mph so fast walkers would be doing laps around me.

I love reading this thread, some of you are fast!!

Way to go, elvislover!!!!!

I did another 30 minutes before work today. My first mile was pretty slow, but the second mile took me 13 minutes 6 seconds - that's downright fast for me! I'm aiming for another "short" run Friday before work. Maybe Monday I'll finally get in a "long" run.

Run happy, chicks!

way to go elvislover!!!! ive never been able to run distance in all this time....I get bored and my asthma starts to act up

I did HIIT intervals today and some ab work on a weight machine....that's going to be my summer routine I think, and add difficulty as I go....I cant add time, as I have very little extra time to spare, so I add difficulty

right now on the HIIT intervals i'm doing a few "warm up" ones hitting 6.3-7.0 speed and then 3 intervals at 8.0 and then 3 more at 8.1-8.3 speed....8.3 is the highest speed I can hit right now...and in between the running I am walking at 3.6 speed....I do two miles of that total walking and running

Still here alakanlaughter!

Long, tough week at work. I work at a university and we're on the down hill slide to the end of the term. Have been going in early and staying late. Been busy wrapping up programs, attending student events, and handling the inevitable paperwork that comes with it all. Good work but time consuming Haven't run since Wednesday but am hoping to get in an early run tomorrow morning.

Trying to stay dry over here! It's been raining or storming almost nonstop since Wednesday afternoon, with no end in sight. If I'm lucky, it will stop raining by Monday.

Thanks everyone!

Someone told me about the Couch to 10k app which picks up at the end of the 5k app so I'm going to try it. I'm lost without my program to do!

I ran for 30 mins today and it was A.W.E.S.O.M.E. I feel so strong even though I don't run fast or far.

I finally fit into a size 12 pair of capris today (haven't worn a 12 in at least 13 years). Does anyone feel like their body shape changes with running? I'm still a pretty high weight for a size 12 (even if they are a bit vanity sized).
