@joyfullloser - I'm so sorry for your loss. My sister died unexpectedly this summer & it sent me reeling for a while. I'm in awe of you getting back to it so quickly.

Thank you and I too am sorry for your loss My brother's death was completely unexpected as well...it makes you think and appreciate life more...once you see how truly fragile it really is. Running has really helped me a great deal...I love it...used to run outside, but with the cold weather here, I just bought a treadmill...great for the mind and body!

sorry about both of your losses joyfulloser and jenjen! It must be hard to get back on track after that, but so happy you bought a treadmill!

--
I'm working out hard at the gym, every second day. Today I'm doing 45 mins on the epiliptical. I have been running/walking intervals and have built up to jogging for 2 mins and walking for 1 min for 20 mins, then doing 40 mins on the epiliptical. I'm also doing weights. Today will be biceps/triceps/shoulder workout with 8-10 pound weights.

Weird thing is I feel like I've gained weight, (ill know tomorrow), I think it is because I am putting on some muscle and I know for a while I'll feel bigger until I lose a bit more weight. Happy working out!
Congrats all on keeping track this month!

Thanks, jojo & joyfulloser.

It was tough getting back into a routine at first. It's funny, because we were forever swapping clothes. One of our weights would go up, and the other's would be down. I have so many clothes in my closet that were hers, or that were mine, hers, then mine again. She was on the smaller side when she died and had just bought a ton of new clothes. I picked out things that I would wear and my mom is holding them for when I can fit into them. I'm hoping that will be soon.

Now... to all of you who had lost someone recently and are back in the exercise routine:
You are in the very least an inspiration!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your stories with us... It will help us to keep ourselves on track. Well, at least will help me, because I will think: If they, who are going through this difficult time of their lives can do it, I should not even think about not coming exercise.
Be strong chicks!!!

I'm jumping in late as far as your conversations regarding loss go. Also, I do not know any of you well enough to offer much support and condolence without sounding like a creepy stalker, but I do understand what loss (or, in my case, near loss) can do regarding health and exercise. In that case, I empathize with you, and I am sorry for your losses, all of you.

That being said, here are my NOV times so far:
2: 1 1-hr class
7: 45 min run/abs
9: 30 min elip, 1 1-hr class
10: 1 1-hr class
11: 63 min run

Thank you Belezura and Downer Yeah...it helps the mourning process to keep busy and LIVE..

Sorry, but nothing to report today...we'll see if I can get something going later today...My muscles are really sore from yesterday's outdoor trail run (2.6 miles without walking and a total of 4 miles ran with about 4 minutes walking in between 2.6 miles and the 4 miles...my all time high so far!) My muscles are actually ACHING...can barely walk...my thighs are so hard and tight...who knew running on a trail outdoors could be so much more strenuous than treadmill running? haha..

Well, THIS Fat lady didn't sing yet though...

Will report later...

Have a nice day all!

Hi joyfulloser
Maybe you could do something very light, like just a walk or even a Recumbent Bike, if you have access to one.
That's what I do... I always try to get something in... It make me feel better.
But I understand that some people need the time off though...
Have a great weekend!!!
