OH!!! I forgot to post on Monday... this weekend I bought a pair of size 10 jeans I can't even remember the last time I wore a size 10, ya know?! So now I feel like I can officially say I fit into my "skinny jeans."

Afternoon ladies!!

Aww, thanks for all the kind words! An 'athelete' WOW! I don't know if I've ever been called that before--even when I was! I've been hunting for a light pink top for ages! Seems like every time I find one it's in the wrong size or crazy expensive. I got that one at Target (pants too).

Sharon~ great article!! Sorry you had a sucky run today--I'm with ya though, recovery days are a must for me! I'm pretty sure if I tried to run every day that I'd fall flat on my face! WTG getting out there and doing it though!

MK~ thanks so much--hubby always calls me short so I'm going to have to tell him that someone thinks my legs are long! Sorry about your run today--but I'm sure your next one will ROCK!

Iris~ Thanks and congrats on the 6 miles!

Dancer~ Brrrrr!!!! Oh but you got to have a bubble bath afterwards? Ahhh, that sounds heavenly!! Great job getting out there and braving the elements!

SkinnyJeans
~ bummer about your run getting cut short! Glad to hear the tights did their job! Still haven't decided on how long I'm running outside, but if I do decide to brave it--they'll be on my list! Congrats on the size 10's!!!

Well, feeling a bit better today, although I think that the cold I fended off last week is trying to get me again. Bah!
So last night was my first night run--it went well! I ran it in about the same time as the 5K so I was happy. However, I did get my first side stitch--a mild one, but there none the less. I'm guessing it was due to the fact that I ate a good size dinner a little over an hour before my run. I think next time that I'll have a much lighter dinner and then have a snack after I get back. Trouble is, I'm leaving for my run after I put my girls to bed and that's 7:30-7:45...I really don't want to eat too late kwim? Oh well, I'll work it out.

In other news, I did day 2 of P90X today--Plyometrics--wowza! Talk about a workout!! And I am nice and sore from yesterday's chest, back and abs workouts--ouchie!! Ah, but it's all good.

Still working to get my weekend weight off of me and felt it necessary to change my ticker--I felt like I was lying leaving it where it was. I hope to see the rest of this weight leave me in the next few days--it's mostly water--dang salty snacks!!!!

Hope everyone is having a great day!!

fatpants - woohoo on the size 10s - that must feel great!!!
idream - don't you hate a sideache? I just figured out what kwim means and am all pleased with myself
Still haven't bought new running tights but I think I may have some old ones that I used to use for cross-country back when I was about this size - will check them out.

It took me forever to figure out what kwim meant! I still don't know what 'XD' means and there's a girl that's in one of my groups here that uses it a lot and I feel silly asking her what it means. She's a young whipper snapper too so it's probably some teen slang thing that I'm too old to know about.

Dancer~ hope the old tights work out for ya!!

Well ladies, I'm officially not running my 3 miles today. I woke up with a doozy of a cold and if I do end up feeling better I'm going to do my P90X workout and running will have to be sidelined. I just don't see myself feeling good at the end of the day to do both ya know? Ugh...and I'm so irked about it too! It is really bugging me that I'm having to take the day off from exercise (possibly) because of a dang cold!!!

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hi all,

It sounds like everyone's doing great. I hope your cold goes away fast iDream.

Well I'm feeling a bit back on track. I got out and did 4 km this morning. I think I've found my pace again. Before, I was trying to run too fast and I got my breathing all messed up. Hyperventilation is no fun.

I think I'm going to stick to 4 km this week so I can get this pace down and creep back up to five next week.

So, no run for me i am OFFICIALLY in my taper....i only get to run about 28 miles this week, so i went and did a spinning class this am. Next week is 12-15 miles (EEK!) and then marathon....

On a lighter note-- Loveland Ski area opened today--beat our Arapahoe Basin for bragging rights. SO EARLY this year. We are supposed to get snow here in Denver tomorrow, and then again on Saturday!!!
How many of my fellow runners out there ski or snowboard?? SkinneyPants do you?? How bout you DancerinDenver??
I have a BLISTERING long run planned for Saturday---6 miles!!!
I REALLY need to be uber vigilent about what im eating for the next two weeks too..... Cant be eating as much..no little slip ups--- dont have the running mileage to make up the calories

mk - I'm mainly a cross-country skiing and snowshoes girl - both major calorie burners by the way, so I'm hoping to replace my weekend hikes with weekend showshoeing as the weather changes. And I'm hoping to get in a good run before the weather changes tomorrow - brr!

idream - I think XD is a smilie where the X are the eyes and the D is a big smile. Of course, that may be wrong if she's using it in some other context. Your 'kwim' had me baffled for a bit as 'quim' is an archaic term for a woman's private parts and I just couldn't see how that was relevant to the sentence

Happy running, all!

Yeah, I haven't skied in about um, 10 years? LOL I would love to pick up snowboarding though. I have some ski enthusiasts in my office that are probably going to head up to Loveland this weekend. Crazy!

It's supposed to snow on Saturday for my 5k. Glad I have those tights now! But for today, I am going to enjoy running in the NON-windy 67 degree weather!

fatpants - yikes! A snowy 5k sounds like a challenge.

Speaking of snowy conditions, do you all find yaktraks (sp?) helpful? I got a pair for winter walks a few years ago and should probably dig them up. The idea of slipping on ice is so not appealing.

Heading to bed but couldn't go to sleep without sharing:

I ran 3 miles this afternoon! I felt better as the day went on and I actually ended up getting all my workouts in. Had to run it on the treadmill though and ended up eating dinner super late--I'm going to have keep working on my routine, that's just not going to work.

Anyway, hope everyone had a great day! Night all!
