Great job guys!! Go, MBN! And Shannon---glad you're running again! Kitty, I buy motrin in bulk containers. Glad your little one's feeling better! Welcome Biird!
sm--I think a half marathon in SF will be VERY hilly! Sounds AWESOME!!! You'll have a great time! 3.5 miles today and glad to do it! :carrot: |
I ran today! Only problem is I have no way of telling whether it was good for my hamstring or not. Last time I thought things were good until 3 days later it sproinged again. Ah well. Gotta try. Only did 30 minutes. I have a cold too so no urge to push it.

+4 today! Second day back at the park! Yay! walked .5, ran 1, intervals for 2, cooled down with .5 - I'm liking that pattern...
My legs were still a little sore today from Tuesday's run, realized the best thing to stretch them was to warm up and then do some more running! They feel much better now! I didn't get sore much back in January - from watching my stride today I think the sore came from the sprint intervals rather than the running itself... My feet hit down a lot harder during the hi portion... I'm glad to be back on the road! :) |
5.54 miles today. SM177: I agree with the others a half in San Fran sounds like a good time. You've had really good training with this challenge, good luck.

How are the shoes working out, Shannon?

6.6 miles for me, it was a nice night!
I have been training for hills, but only on my long run days since the hardest hills I know of are about 4 miles away from where I live. If I run north in the city it's also straight uphill but I haven't worked myself up for that yet haha. According to the website elevation map, it looks like it is about 50% or so uphill. I picked the harder half marathon since it goes across the golden gate bridge. Eitherway I'm really excited! I've never really traveled before and I'm dying to get out of the city:carrot: Jackie are you still planning to do a half marathon in the spring? |
6.75 TM miles. SM: I wanted to run the Missisagua half in but I'm not sure if my foot will hold up. So far so good.

I ran 5.29 miles this morning.
That was my last run prior to going to Italy ( tomrrow is a biking day for me and then I leave for Italy on Sunday) yippee! So my next run will be coming from the Italian Riviera! Whoo hoo! I'm so excited! I'm not sure I'll be able to run in Venice yet, maybe just something very short due to Venice's unique layout and cobblestone streets, but I do have good runs mapped out for Florence and Rome, as well as the area right near the Cinque Terre (on the coast). Now I just need to learn how to say, "Pardon my sweatiness, is this the way to the park?" in Italian. :) |

Re: hill training. I don't have to go looking for hills as the name of my town is Short Hills. I can't avoid 'em. This morning I needed to cut my run short (aiming for 6 but had time for 5.2) and cut right onto a super steep road. I actually said out loud, "OW, my a$$!!" :p |
