i was just asking in another forum if this really works or not, then i stumble across this post, how ironic!

I cant wait to get started, i hope this really works for me also !

W3D2 today! It was still hard, but at least I don't cough whenever I take a deep breath like I did on Monday after W3D1!

I also did an extra run. Normally I tack on a 5 min cool down walk on to the end of the schedule - but today I felt like I could run some more, so I ran for 2 minutes of that 5 minutes, then walked for a minute and I was home. So I did the 5 minute distance in 3 minutes.

Also hit my lowest BF% ever today, as well as my lowest weight ever - 25.9% and 136.8 respectively! This running lark is great!

Welcome Ginger!!! The C25K is difficult, but stick with it! If you do it, but not overdo it, IT WILL WORK!!!! ;)

I'm falling off the wagon, oh no! Just temporarily though. I missed my past two runs and it looks like I'm going to miss today too. I know I'll be back on track soon though, since it is part of my triathlon training. I'm calling myself officially done with c25k, because even though I'm not running 5k yet, I stopped using the podcasts. Right now I'm running 2 miles (25 mins) and I'm just going to gradually up my distance.

JamieJo 11-26-2008 10:06 AM

paperclippy! NO FALLING OFF THE RUNNING WAGON!!! I know where you live, well sorta, so don't make me come drag you out for a run!!!!! ;)

WooPigSooie 11-26-2008 02:35 PM

Just did W2D1 today and it was a little harder than I expected it to be! You wouldn't think the extra 30 seconds of running would make that much of a difference. Although I was more out of breath towards the end, I did feel like my running "rythim" got easier if that makes sense. I felt really good for having completed it! Hoping to do W2D2 on Friday. Have a good Thanksgiving everyone!

kateaclysm 11-26-2008 02:45 PM

I'm start C25K tomorow.. on Thanksgiving...yay!

Robsia 11-28-2008 05:23 PM

W3D3 DONE!!! Yay!!

I have just looked at the schedule for next week - running 5 minutes - yikes!

sillybutt 11-29-2008 04:08 PM

I fell off the wagon. :( I got sick and then my schedule was all wonky, and then I just didn't feel like it.

But I'm back on. I did w1d1 today. :)

Robsia 11-29-2008 06:09 PM

WTG sillybutt! I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one here.

I'm doing W4D1 tomorrow. It was COLD yesterday - barely above freezing, but I ran in a cardigan, gloves and a scarf and was actually toastie warm, except for my nose and ears, which were cold. Today it did get down to freezing for the first time this winter - but I wasn't running today thank goodness!

But tomorrow is forecast to be warmer.

Robsia 11-30-2008 03:34 PM

Yay - W4D1 DONE!!!

It was cold today also but I really enjoyed it. I took it at a steady pace and the first 5 minute run was almost easy! I got into my stride sooner than I had been doing before and I just did it! The second one was harder because I was tired by then, but I am so much more encouraged by how much easier I am finding these longer runs. I am beginning to think the marathon might actually be doable, based on how much I have improved in only three weeks!

My body is changing too. I am finding muscles I never knew I had - not just in my legs either, my waist is getting harder and my belly is shrinking.

I'm still nervous at the thought of running for 20 minutes non stop at the end of Week 5, but for the first time since I started C25K I am beginning to feel like I could do it.

Yay for getting fit!

JamieJo 11-30-2008 05:41 PM

Hey ladies - Just keep up with it! Those "far off" weeks that seem impossible won't be impossible once you get there!!!! :)

I still CAN NOT believe that I can run for 30 mins without stopping, after not being able to run 5 mins without dying when I started this!!!

WooPigSooie 11-30-2008 10:33 PM

I am enjoying your posts so much! I did W2D2 at my parents house and found that running outdoors was a whole different game from being on the treadmill. I tend to prefer the treadmill b/c I like to see my speed/time/etc. but it was fun to get bundled up and run in the fresh air. I'm going to try and get Day 3 done tomorrow and am already getting a bit nervous about Week 3--isn't there a 3 minute run in there? But I read Robsia's fabulous post about bellies shrinking (yay!) and Jamie Jo's remarkable progress and I can't wait!

paperclippy 12-01-2008 09:18 AM

Week 7 done! I'm going to start going by distance now, since I was only doing 2 miles in 25 minutes. This week I'm planning for 2.25 miles.
