60 min elliptical
|
I am trying to ride my bike to the train stop for work everyday, run at least 20 minutes every other day and throw in some weight training for 20 min twice a week.
|
Heffalump, my soreness is much better, thanks!
It hasn't put me off, I confess... today was my usual rest day, but since I took Saturday off already, I wanted to do something today...so, I did the Crossfit WOD today. I think I may be developing an addiction, here. ;) ETA: Lucky, welcome to 3FC, and to this thread. Your workout plan sounds great! :carrot: |
60 mins elliptical.

I walked Briskly for 1 hour (I drove the route and it is 4 miles). So I did that last night! Once again I missed the gym, but hopefully I can get into the swing again soon!
|
This am, I tried the Total Body Conditioning Class (shaping/sculpting) which I've been meaning to try. I had to take a couple of pauses/do alternate exercises, but I did make it through the class & to the class (which given its 6:45 am time & the fact that I'm not a morning person was an accomplishment in & of itself). The instructor was a substitute one. Too bad, because I really liked her approach. She kept checking on people to see if they were doing ok and suggesting alternate exercises as necessary. And personally, I found it very motivating when during a tough part of the class, she said something like, "come on you can do it, you're all going to look great in sleeveless tops!"
30 minutes on the elliptical & some sit ups on the exercise ball. I'm tempted to count inflating the one I bought for home as exercise too! :) The gym doesn't seem to have a lot of the 65 cm ones. Never again will not having access to one stop me from my ab work! |

Good for you. Sounds like you had a great time. I do agree, instructors or anyone around us that gives encouragement and helps us find alternative exercises to do when we can't do the other ones is great. We feel good that we are doing the program. Still 4 miles, wow that is a long way. You are going to have great legs lol. Hold that bellie button in while you walk. You might be surprised how much ab work you get while walking by doing that. Do you pump your arms while you are talking? lucky I have been told riding a bike is good exercise. What kind of weight training are you doing? jam What is there to say lol. You are a real go getter. Leslie Sansone has a real good video out, you can do yoga. She makes it real easy to follow. You might want to try it if you are interested in yoga. just get it done I have never used one of those but they look like a good workout. Are they hard to use? manda You are another one that uses that machine. Does it work all the body parts? blz Do you have a certain routine that you do for your weight workout? ellip You use the elliptical too. Looks like it is a popular workout. Shy, I dont usually talk, I usually have my MP3 blasting so I dont even notice how far I have walked until I drive the route the next day or so. I just love to walk as long as my leg will allow....(I have a bad leg, knee, ankle, hip. So most anything that uses my leg is a struggle.)

I have been told I need to lower the amount of miles I am doing a day. I am beating my knees up. I have been doing, generally, 8 to 10 miles each week day. I am having a lot of trouble with my knees again. I am not sure if I need to lower the amount of miles or lower the amount I do at one time. I didn't seem to have to many problems when I was only doing the 1 and 2 mile videos. Now that I can do the 3 to 5 mile videos and do them well, I seem to be having more and more problems. I watch old tv shows and movies that I have on DVD on the computer while I do my walking/aerobic videos lol. It never seems like they take as long as they do when I don't watch something while I am doing them. Becareful of those knees, God only gave us two of them and they are suppose to last us a life time. |

Imagine my dismay (after a pre-6am bus ride with Chatty Cathy & Verbose Vinny seated in front of me) when I arrived at the gym for spin class to see all of the bikes outside of the class!! I thought it was cancelled again! :( But never fear, the instructor & staff were putting them back in the room.
The sound system wasn't cooperating, so we had acoustic spin until the 2nd half when they got it working. I got my spin class! :ebike: And some circuit weights too. |

Took a Rest Day yesterday, as my left knee was feeling wonky. Still not quite right this morning, but better than yesterday. Thinking I don't want to push my luck with that and get a worse injury, so may take a few days off leg work.

Enforced rest day. Note to self, dehydration from spin class + dehydration from allergy meds + a couple of drinks at work social thing + apartment heat kicking in overnight is a really, really bad mix. I was drinking lots of water yesterday up to the social thing and today. I'm almost to the point of feeling human now.
Obviously, I can skip the drinks in the future, open the apartment window & drink water before the class (as well as during & after as I was). Any other suggestions to prevent dehydration? |

55 min elliptical Nylisa - are you drinking water over the course of the whole day? Especially with allergy meds, you should be consistently drinking a lot. |
I just finished my workout for today.:carrot:

Thanks Mandalinn,
I bring a 1 liter bottle of flavored sparkling water and I have that with my breakfast and continue to sip on it throughout the day. And I drink 2 12 oz cans of seltzer with lunch. And plain water & green tea here & there. Then more seltzer with dinner & in the evening. Normally, that's fine & I don't feel dehydrated. I think I need to make sure I drink water before the spin class because I sweat an awful lot during it. |

Happy Friday everyone! Great job getting through to the end of the week!
Today was supposed to be a rest day, but since I had to take a break yesterday, I did the stuff I'd planned for yesterday--circuit weights & 45 mins cardio. And I just found out my gym is renovating the locker rooms, which means guys on odd days and women on even. You can use the gym even if it's not your locker room day, but you can't change or shower or store your stuff while working out. Fortunately, there are options. The place where I work is close by,as are some other gyms in the chain, so my office could work for storage, hair & make up and another gym substitute for showering. I'll have to figure out what's going to work for me. My main focus is trying to keep up with going to the early am strength training & spin classes which I just started going to. I've printed out a schedule for the month on outlook & I've marked off the class days affected. I'm going to look at the schedule & figure out how I can make sure I still get my 2 spin classes per week & my 2 strength training classes per week. |
My exercise for today is done. I'm tired but I pressed on any way.

60 mins elliptical today.
