Thanks Rosey, for the welcome.
The new drug means 2 injections daily, my belly is big enough to take them, the needle is not as big as the one to test my blood, so is no problem. My numbers are great today, a 111 fasting then a 130 after lunch!
We've never been to Alaska, but are taking a cruise there in July for our 50th anniv., then my dh is going fishing up there in August with our ds.

Cool

Hi Rosey. I've been around but somewhat bummed out by the January blahs and the difficulty I'm having getting back on my medical fast after the holidays. I was taking glyzerberide (or however you spell it) before I started the fast along with Glucophage and Actos. Now I'm only taking Glucophage. I was doing somewhat okay until I went off the fast and now my bs's are in the 170s-80s in the a.m. Not good. Sounds like you're doing fine.
Lil - welcome to the thread. That new drug you're taking sounds great. I'll have to research it. Any side effects?

BBWon wheels... I think you have to be careful about how many carbs are in that Fruit Harvest cereal, I haven't checked it...but that is one precaution that my educator told me about. (counting the fruit in cereals)

Rosetta., thanks for the welcome....this new drug can have some awful side effects, so far I have been real lucky, almost none!. Some experience nausea, headaches, diarhea, constipation chills 'you name it'! Tomorrow I see my doctor and she will probably double my dose, which is the usual program....so we will see how that goes. I'm a little nervous about it, I want to get it all worked out, as we are going on a cruise in Feb, and don't want any surprises due to medication!

Talking Good report!

The doctor was thrilled with my results of being on this new med for the first month, lost 4 pounds, no bad side effects, and a lower blood pressure, and lower BS #'s!
I start the increased dose tomorow, so we will see how that goes! "mind over matter!" it will be great!!

Default I'm new

Hello to everyone. I'm new to 3FC. I'm loving all I'm finding though.

I'm Joyce, married to my soul mate for 29 years. We have two grown children, a brand new granddaughter (almost 6 weeks old) and another grandbaby coming in July.

I was diagnosed with diabetes 4 years ago. I'm on Glyburide, Glucophage and Actos. My goal is to lose this weight so I can reduce my meds.

I would love to get to know you all as we journey along.

Joyce - welcome to the thread. I was on the same combo of meds and they did a good job of getting my bs down. I began a medically supervised fast in August and was taken off Actos and Glyberide. My bs weren't quite as low as before but my A1c was terrific. Unfortunately, I have been cheating lately on the fast and my bs is up. I'll probably get back on Actos. That really did the trick. If we diet and exercise, we can beat this nasty disease.
Lil - that med is certainly worth looking into. Congrats on the 4 lbs!
Rosey, Glen and all the others. How are ya?

Thanks so much for the welcome Rosey and Rosettastone, it looks like a really great group of people.

Rosey, my sister lived in WA when Mt St Helens blew - she had ash everywhere for a while. Hope the ash doesn't come your way. I'm sorry to hear about your foot - please take care of it.

Rosettastone, the meds worked ok for me for a while but I must confess that I don't always eat the way I should. I do ok for a while and then I just lose control. I'm hoping being here with all of you helps me regain control again. I heard a dr. say once that anyone can out eat medications, that's certainly true in my case.

Glen hang in there with those #'s they can be really frustrating sometimes.

And nosugarmomma congrats on the 3.2 and I can't wait to hear about your 5 lbs next week. You go girl!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
