Good Morning, World . . .

Happy to be able to report that I managed to send another 2 ugly pounds to "ugly-pound-heaven" this past week. Also pleased to be able to report a BS reading of 4.7 (85) this morning. A great day so far. And . . . the radio is telling me the sun will be coming out a little later on.

Hope you all have a good day, too. See you soon.

Great reading, Meowee. I've been "forgetting to test these mornings. Hmmmm. My next HA1C will show what's happening but I'd better get with it. Maybe putting the testing kit out before bedtime will remind me.
Sorry I don't post in here much. The South Beach Forum andother site stuff keeps me pretty busy.

Hi Everyone!
Got a surprise this afternoon from UPS. He brought me a free BD Logic Blood Glouse moniter with a sample of test strips. They said it was a reward for my loyalty to BD diabetes products
So myabe this will get me on the ball to test every morning.
Right now I'm having trouble with snacking all day long. Have a weigh in in the morning(if we don't get the freezing rain they're talking about)

Hi all, Does anybody besides me have a problem with needing to eat every two hours? I will eat something and then two hours later I'm starving.

Thanks for any responses, Renya

Thumbs up

Renya, I was told to have a carb snack (15 grams) mid morning, mid aftenoon and in the evening, it helps keep the BS level. I try to choose something that will be filling, and hold me over til lunch. I've pretty much gotten over that starving feeling.
Good luck.

It's warm and sunny this morning in Nova Scotia . . . although I'm sure we'll get another cold spell soon.

Hefty . . . We are following each other around this morning. Congrats again, my boy.

Renya . . . Listen to Lillie . . . sounds like you need to eat a little more. What are you eating? But don't worry about eating often. More frequent smaller meals is a great way to keep your BS level.

Hey, Rosey, hows the weather up there?

Have agreat day, everybody and keep smiling.

Cool

Hi, all. Well, at the official weighin I was up a lb. This was the first time this has happened since I've been on the program. Am having a difficult time getting back in gear. Sigh. Rosey, I don't find out about my A1c results until I see the doc next week.
Our weather here in San Francisco has turned cool (40s). (I know Rosey and Meowee this is like a heat wave for you). I love it. Wish it would stay this way for half a year. I feel better, more energized.
Renya - I am rarely hungry even on a 500 calorie fast, so I don't know what to say. Are you checking your blood sugar when you get hungry? It might be too low, in which case you should eat more.
Glen - congrats on the 8 lbs.

JUst found out our new insurance won't pay for my test strips and syringes. The company my husband retitred from was sold and the new company won't pay for retirees. So we had to go with a cobra plan. We have 5.5 years for medicare.
Just what we needed more stress.

Thanks to all of you for the advice. I am following Weight Watchers and am eating a snack between meals. By the time snack time arrives, my head is reeling and my ears are ringing. I will try more carbs.

Good Morning, everybody. . . sounds like our cold weather is on the way. Predicted high today is +10 (about 50). Predicted high tomorrow is -10 (about 14).

Oh wow, Creations . . . you are having some bad news. Don't worry about the little weight gain, though. It will soon be gone again. Yours, too, Rosetta, it's only a temporary setback. It certainly sounds like you're having a good day, Rosey. Glad to hear it. Renya . . . Definitely sounds like you are describing a low sugar event. Check your glucose level the next time you feel like that. I think you're on the right track. Adding to your carb intake a bit should take care of things.

I had a bad day yesterday . . . foodwise. Stayed within my overall goal for calories but ate far too much carb all at one sitting (called lunch). At dinner time my BS was still 15 (270) so all I had was 4 ounces of cheese. This morning I was actually surprised that it was down to 4.2 (75). Don't know why I go off on these tangents once in a while. I certainly know better. Oh well, hopefully today will be better.

Have a good one, gang. We'll see you soon.
