sorry it;s been so long. It;s now been almost 5 weeks since my back injury and I am doing pretty good. FL helps because its so easy to get around . Love driving those electric carts in Walmart. I had a surgery called xlif, They filled in discs and put 2 rods and some screws and plastic cages aroubd my spine. I didn;t even set off the alarm at the airport. Brad drove down and I flew, We are getting a 3rd car so we can fly back and forth,
That is so stressfull about your hubby;s parents. Meme,
Joannne-my sil has a grandson that;s been in and out of rehab. That also is very stress ful,
Have a great Thanksgiving everyone. Mima

Default Hey There

I hope that everyone is ready for Thanksgiving!! I have given those days over to my kids. It just got to be too much for me. We are going to our daughters this week. I may assist her with some of the cooking. The whole family will be there. Our son and his wife will have dinner over at the rehab where her son is and come back in the evening...
Our son had surgery on his shoulder and now doing therapy 3 times a week.. We are in hopes that this will be the end of his medical problems.
All is well with me. Just the usual little bumps in the road.
Mima- I hope you are doing better after your back surgery.. No fun I am sure..
Hello Everybody..

Where is everyone? Out buying Christmas presents? Don't forget mine!!

I haven't bought even one gift yet. Behind, as usual. I did get the tree up, with the help of Jenna, youngest g-daughter. She's my little helper, though not so little anymore. She's almost as tall as I am now. She is such a joy and a help to me, too. She came over last weekend and helped me put up the tree and the Christmas village. Don't know what I'd do without her. Hubby doesn't have time to help me now with his dad so sick (he's dying - we've called Hospice in) so when I need help, Jenna comes over. She loves her Meme and her Meme loves her!

These big dinners are so much work. I enjoy them but I'm almost too old to do them any more. Or maybe I'm not too old, maybe I'm just too sick. I've been hurting so bad lately and almost all the work around here is on me now. I get so tired. I can't do it all. Things are beginning to pile up and I hate that. Don't know what's going to happen but something is going to have to or I'm going to have to hire some help!

Default Hey There

I wrote a fair sized reply this morning. Only God knows where it is in space.
Thanksgiving was nice Most of our family was there. That was a house full. The only thing was a bug got to this family and everyone was/is sick.I had a touch of it and am trying not to catch what the hubby has..
We plan to go back up to our daughters for Christmas..It is just too much for me to do it here anymore.
I too have not bought the first gift or card.. I need motivation.. I don't plan to put up a tree or decorations. We will be gone and it will save me a lot of work..
It has been cool here and now getting warm.. That is Florida weather. Warm one week and cold the next.
I hope everyone is well.

Oh my sounds as if you all are falling apart! Me too....got our foundation work done and it took forever to get the mess all ceaned up..then ahd to rest a spell with alot of pain. I overdid at Thanksgiving cooking this year...don't think I will try that again. Then hurt myselft putting up x-mas lights...now gotta take them all down soon....this up and down weather really gets to me....almost done with x-mas stuff...only one son here since the other one just moved into his new home and she is working over x-mas.

Just got off of Jury Duty..what an experience...was on a 2 day DUI trial but there all week....it just abolut killed me to be upa nd ready at 7:30, drive myself there and stay all day and drive myself home.

The pup is sick with a bad bladder infection on 3 meds and not much better..he has to go out all the time and had few accidents in the house, we have to keep him the room with us and limit his water...poor thing.

Does not seem like Christams this year...no white stuff I guess. At least I do not have to shovel. Have baked some..but not to the extent I used too. Have 10 pounds I need to shed also.....it just creeps up on ya!

It looks as if this site has almost been abandoned. Candice, I know how you feel about just getting the decorations up and then having to take them all down. Holidays are becoming more and more work every year. I've been on jury duty before ... no fun at all. I was on the Grand Jury once and it lasted forever!

My FIL is dying. He doesn't have very much time left. He only eats a few bites of food a day now and sleeps almost all the time. I went over last Sat and cleaned the house and made out my MIL's cards for her and mailed them. I do all the cooking for them. He is 93 and she is 90. Hubby goes over every morning before work and stops every evening after work and then goes back a lot of times before bed. FIL is in diapers ... he hasn't been out of the bed in 6 weeks. It's sad.

Everyone is coming here for Christmas and then we are going to try to take dessert to MIL's in the evening. They have a very small home so I don't know how that's going to work but that's what she wants so I'm trying to put it together. Pray for them ... and for us! Hope you all have a Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Meme....it is sad when folks get old and do not have any quality of life left. Went through that with all our folks, it was a relief when they finally passed.
You just do what you can for them while they are still here and it sounds like that is being done.
I didn't even put a whole out this year..inside anyway..my wrist/arm was so bad I couldn't do too much. I do everything here, dh does nothing and my cleaning gal quit last spring with no notice and I have not found anyone yet to help....but I cannot do this by myself. We are still getting the house in order and unpacking now that we have the water problem fixed ( we hope).

Mima..waht did you do to your back?

Joanne..how old is dh now?

My tree and village is all I put up and, like I said, Jenna helped with that. I did put a garland with lights across the back of the bar and hubby put lights up outside. I have a Christmas runner on the dinningroom table and a poinsettia ... have a few of those throughout the house but nothing else that had to be 'put together.' If I get my desserts made and make it through Christmas dinner, I'll be doing good. Hubby went to a wholesale place here where we get frozen cassaroles and bought a scalloped potato cassarole and a sweet potato cassarole for Sunday. All I have to do to those is stick them in the oven. I bought a ham and a turkey but I'm not doing the homemade dressing this time. I bought stovetop so all I'll have to do is wrap the turkey and ham, put them in the ovens and go on to church. Come home, swap the meat out for the cassaroles and make the stovetop. I'm making it easy on myself this time! (Well ... easier!) ha

I have finally got all the Christmas presents bought except 3 gift cards. I plan to get those tomorrow while I'm out. Have apps to get my nails done and Ginger's hair cut so I should have a couple of hrs wait on her to finish up everything. Everything is left to me this year, shopping, baking, cleaning, cooking ... you name it and I'm doing it. Strange thing is ... I don't know how I'm doing it. I'm actually in more pain now than I've ever been. I've cut way back on the amount of church work I'm doing. I have no jobs at church now and the only thing I did for Christmas was teach the kids to sign 1 song and the teens 2 songs for the program. Anne would be so proud! I've learned that word, NO, so well now!

I have just been aching like crazy with a headache....didn't do that much to cause this. Can't sleep well either..hope it passes soon.

The dog had to go in for bladder surgery, over a 1000 bucks...had over 50 stones...he will stay the night and get him in the am...but then he has to remain calm and no jumping............

Default Hey There

I hope everybody had a nice Christmas and they have a safe New Year.
We were up to the daughters for 11 days . Most of our family was there. It was crowded but nice..
I ended up at a walk in . I woke up and could hardly talk. So the daughter took me and her hubby to get antibiotics.. He has had something for 3 weeks. Knowing me she wasn't willing to not go. I am fine now..
My hubby is 86 and sometimes a pain in the neck. He still won't give over the driving of the car and to say the least scared the heck out of me coming home today. I don't know what to do with him...
Now I have to get back to losing some weight . I haven't been on a scale in 11 days.. Tomorrow I will face the music..
Have a Happy New Year.
I will try to get back more often..
Joanne
