Default Fibromyalgia #78

Hi guys-thought I'd start a new thread. Hope it works. Did nothing yesterday except go to lunch-visit Brad's mom in the nursing home-she is very unhappy, which she is anyways, and take it easy at home. Got a great night's sleep and here we are again. I guess ypu need to do that once in a while. It's still kind of warm here but rainy. Need to finish another small quilt this week and my Christmas shopping. The Gaithers are going to be in Ft. Myers in Jan so we are going to that concert, WE love their music!!!Bye for now. Mima

Joanne........ I am just scared that I will be like my next door neighbor who has her 40 year old dry alcoholic son living with her. He got let out of jail early from a felony DWI and was home monitored. So he sits outside and smokes cigs, mows th lawn three times a week, was raking leaves in the wind last nite. I bet he is fun to live with....
Taking my son to the mall, torture for him. Hopefully we will see his friends and I will embarrass him.
Went to a China Buffet last nite and ate so much I actually hurt. Could not lay on my side in bed.....

Good day for me today. Did all sorts of things good for me. Hope it shows on scale. Synthroid seems to be helping with arthritis as well as other things.

Spent weekend babysitting and enjoying the grandkids. Daughter says Thanksgiving's at her house. She and DIL will cook. I have mixed emotions. I'd rather they come here. But this means I'll have less to do, doesn't it? I think it's time for me to let go of some more. I think partly she/they're doing it because they know we've had some problems lately and I think that's nice and mature of them (and what I always did for my parents). It's just strange being on the other side.

Joanne, of course you need to help daughter - hope all goes well. For both of you.

Going to a funeral in the morning. And then probably not do anything overly tiring as meeting friends for dinner. Have a good Tuesday, all.

Default Good morning

Glad the new thread worked-it didn't at first. I finished the quilt top yesterday-I ripped out more stuff that I sewed on backwards! Going to BJ's and somewhere else to try to finish my shopping-then wrap tomorrow -this is weird!!!!It's only Nov.-having the kids over for dinner Sun -early Thansgiving-cold almost gone-what a beaut it was. BRAD is ok so far-let's hope! Ally-my daughter used to be embarrassed if I said her name at teh mall-it doesn't take much. Chinese buffets are so addicting. I was pretty good yesterday. I only ate half as much for dinner.Progress. Hi to all Mima

Default Hey There

Ally- Mine moves out again about Thanksgiving. That is when his house closing is. I say keep hanging in there.
Mima.. The parents are never happy when their children visit them in the nursing home.. They want you to feel as guilty as possible. I was a charge nurse for 15 years in one. Believe me they are different when you aren't there. It is the best place for them when it is impossible to manage them at home. We had my MIL in the one I worked. What a misery. She was bad most of the time but worse when my hubby visited. We had to cut his visits because it was making him sick.
Anagram- You are a lucky person if you get out of cooking on the Holidays.. I have never been that lucky..Even when it is at someone elses house. I cook..I suggested going out a couple times and that was turned down. This family is spoiled.. I will probably do it for years to come..
Hello All..Joanne

I didn't know there was a new thread!!! Kept waiting to get an email and then decided something must be wrong since no one was posting so I decided to look and see...

The storms missed us...barely! The kids came over Sunday afternoon and we sat in the basement for a couple of hours until they passed. It was really bad in some places not far from here, though.

I'm so tired...cold still lingering. Hey, Mima...how'd you get rid of yours so fast???

No one has any Solganal! They've stopped making it...that's the stuff the gold shots I'm taking are made of. The nurse said I have enough left for a couple of more shots and then that's it! Should last me 'till a week before Christmas if I space them out every 4 weeks instead of every 3 like I've been taking them. I'm supposed to get one Thursday but I'm going to wait until next Thursday so they'll last a little longer! I really dread going back to 'pre-gold'! I couldn't raise either of my arms above my head before I started taking the shots!!! There are thousands of people taking the gold that this is going to effect!

Default Good morning

Well, I hope you are all well. It is humid here - freezing rain! Makes my poor old bones hurt. Wish it would just snow as it is much drier then.

Candice and Mima - finished your Christmas shopping already! I haven't even given it much thought. Way to early for me. I like to be in the Christmas spirit before I start that.

Meme - How are you doing on Atkins? I can't seem to lose anymore weight. It is just standing still. I am so frustrated. Have still been on the Induction. I am going to get my thyroid tested again. I answer yes to so many questions on the chart, that it seems likely it is too low for me. My daughter works in the lab that does all the testing for this area. She told me that my thyroid test shows it is normal, but lower than she likes hers to be and she takes synthroid. I can't really tell the Dr. that she looked at my results. She did it for me. I do need to have a long talk with him about it, however.

Joanne - Got the boy back home, have you? That is always special. My son will be into his new house, hopefully before Christmas. It is coming along nicely.

Anagram - Hi. Hope you and your hubby are doing ok. It's a good thing to let the kids take over some of these holidays. My daughter does Christmas (although, I still have to help), but each year she does more and more, and she gets all the groceries. It is nice.

Lead-foot Freddie - I have never had a speeding ticket - certainly NOT because I don't deserve one. I also have a lead-foot, and I love speed.

Ally - my son used to want a ride to school, and then I had to drop him off a block from the school so nobody would see him:lol Kids are so funny! I used to do it sometimes, but I really enjoyed driving him right to the door He lived!

Everyone enjoy the day.

I didn't lose any last week but I was hungry all week and ate a little more. I'm doing better this week, though...staying on track, but I've upped my carbs to 30 (or more some days). I think I'm addicted to shrimp!

Ross is going through a rough spell right now. He was manic Sun, Mon, and yesterday but then last night he started to 'come down' and started crying...cried for a couple of hrs. before bedtime. I told my daughter I'd take him for the weekend if she wanted me to! He has an app. with a new Dr. (Woman) Tomorrow afternoon. I hope she can help him! This will make the 4th Dr. he's been to.

Hubby is out cyote hunting! We have a pack of them out behind our house somewhere...driving me crazy yapping at night!

My son has cleaned his room. I can only assume that someone from the school will be calling so I will just stay on the computer so I can't answer the phone.
How many of you use the treadmill? Just wondering what the average amount of walking is. I am tired (exhausted) after a mile.

Default Hey There

Ally- I used treadmill for years. Work yourself up to 3 miles per hour and stay on at least 45 min to an hour.. That's average
Meme -I know what you mean about cyotes.. Good luck
