HELLO LADIES ~ Well, we just stayed home today: our plans for the day got ruined becuz it did nothing but pour and pour and pour. It all turned out OK though as I managed to get our place cleaned up a bit; had gotten a tad neglected as I was spending so much time cleaning everywhere else.

Thank goodness, it never gets too far away from me. DH pouted all evening cuz he wanted to take some stuff over to the cottage today. Just when you'd think it was gonna let up ... another downpour would start up. So I encouraged him to get everything ready and put it in the livingroom so that early tomorrow AM, he can load up the car and take it to the cottage.

There have been some unforseen delays; the plumbers didn't show up to fix the pipe, so DH told the owner that if they don't show up today, he will fix it himself. Thankfully, he is indeed a good handyman himself; he already fixed the damaged door frame already. We got the cottage all cleaned up and now just have to take things over and set up. SIS & BIL will be arriving tomorrow evening sometime.

So, I have been a busy camper, but took a few breaks out to read a book called "ROSANNAH OF THE AMISH". Very interesting true story about Pennsylvania Amish people and how they live. They are very hard-working and devout people. I have met some in our own lives and found them very pleasant, but not as strict as the ones in the book were. The story took place in the early nineteen hundreds I think, so maybe that is why.

HI MEOWEE ~ yah, we had that humid and heavy rain all day today too. Sorry to hear you have a migraine problem: don't envy anyone with that. My DH gets them a lot too, but thankfully for him, they don't last too long. Water is often the culprit in fluctuating weight gain/loss; I get this all the time. That will come off again real soon ...

HEY PURPLE ~ WOW, you got a lot of laundry and ironing done in one day; good for you girl. Some days I can do more and then the days in between, I have to rest and relax, in order to recover. When we were kids, we lived in a large park with twin lakes and the owner (sweet guy) brought in row boats which we could take out on the lakes for free and go swimming at the shore.

My mother would say, "where else can you take a bunch of kids for so much fun for the day with a picnic and all for free?" That man earned lots of ANGEL POINTS for himself in his life; supplying small cottages for very low rent to the poorest families in town. Yah, he was indeed AN ANGEL: his name was Mr. Stanley.

HEYA VALDINE ~ hope you are having a great CANADA DAY weekend; and getting lots of rest in between your two jobs. When I was young, I had two jobs for a while until I could find one that could carry me better. I worked in a long-term care facility and part-time at a group home at the same time (for only a year or two). When we are young, we seem to be stronger or something; as we get older, our bodies start to complain at us big time, telling us to give ourselves a break already ....

Well, that's all the news from here for now; take good care of yourselves ladies, your friend ROSEBUD

Hi Ladies

Well having a relaxing day after yesterday of being busy. I think the most I am doing is putting the Hoover around the house. So nothing too strenuous and besides at present don't seem to have heaps of energy.

ROSEBUD ~ The book sounded interesting about the Amish culture no wonder you finished it so quick. I only know a brief outline of the Amish culture and life style. It is good to find a read like that. I am reading one by Leah Fleming it is her second one called war widows. It took a bit for me to get into it as it had many characters and I hate that. Her first book was much simpler to get into . I have managed to get into this war widows by just writing for the first couple of pages on a piece of paper the characters names and who they were related to that helped immensely.

Sounds so nice and idyllic to have twin lakes with rowing boats and water good enough to swim in. I can see how your mum though so highly of Mr Stanley and said he was earning his Angel points. That sounds so sweet way of putting that someones generosity will be paid back.. One way that is said here is that "you will get your reward in heaven".

HAPPY CANADA DAY
to you all, did not realise or know about this special day for that matter. So I have learnt something today about Canadian culture. I went and looked further on the INTERNET about this special day so I know a little more now. Here in the UK we have no such day to Celebrate I suppose the nearest for me is St George's day.

No more news for now so time for me to go and get dressed as I am still in night attire. So bye bye for now and catch up with you all soon

Hi everybody . . .

Weather seems to be an instant replay of yesterday and the headache is still niggling around the edges of my brain; but a lot less irritating than yesterday. Luckily I have no great plans anyway. Did manage to eat decently yesterday, but still have the water weight and puffy ankles; so guess this will be a day of slugging in extra water to see if I can move the lump.

Rest of the weather for the long, long weekend (Tuesday is actually the holiday, but a lot of people have booked of on Monday as well) is supposed to break a little sun but be so humid that it will probably feel like it's still raining anyway. Guess I'll be doing my 5K on the Gazelle.

Well, better get myself moving and shaking . . .

Hi Ladies

Just a swift drop by as I am not sure how much time I will have today. If I find that I have more time later I will pop back. It is a grey day at the minute though it is suppose to have some sunshine spells later in the day.

I am going into the city today with my DH to take my books back (20 of them ). So the book store will be my first port of call as my DH will be carrying these heavy bags. We do not normally have so many to take back but with the exacerbation in my condition I did not venture into the city. The city is about 5 miles away and because I am disabled we get free parking in the car park belonging to the shopping centre ( shopping mall ) We have 2 shopping centres in my city one either end of the town but I rarely go to one and have not been there for years. In the shopping centre I am going in it has an indoor market which over the years has got somewhat smaller till they just housed them upstairs (was up and down stairs) on the one floor.

The indoor market is where I will be heading today as this is where the secondhand book store is. When I say secondhand the majority of books are secondhand and then there is a small section of new books which are from the most popular authors. It is a husband and wife team who run the store but it was originally her father's (never came here when it belonged to the father).

Managed another small walk yesterday and got wet for my troubles but I enjoyed it never the less I do not think the dog was quite so enthusiastic as me mind you he hates water so that explains it. Unfortunately on his return he had to have his paws washed and his tummy as they where black from the surface water that had splashed on him.

Hope I have a little more time later so till then or tomorrow, look after yourselves and take care. Bye bye

Good Morning . . .

We are supposed to be getting some "sunny breaks" today, too -- but the humidity is staying sky-high.

Guess I'll do my exercising on the Gazelle again. Since i got rid of the headache, finally, I don't want to tempt fate by trying to wander around outside too much.

See you later . . .

I quickly saw your post on the other thread Purple.. and just wanted to say .. I have possible good news! My fatique may not be MS but you are right.. if it started stopping me from getting up I would do something. (right now I can do pilates no matter how weak I am and it helps me get moving)

I got a call this morning from my MS clinic in Winnipeg telling me to get a family doctor (my last 2 left and I gave up) because my hemoglobin is low. Low hemoglobin and feelings of intense weakness? no way! I have an apt on Friday with a new GP.

stay well all and happy Canada day eh?
