Carol Sue Sorry about your jacket.

We had terrible storms last night with 2 inch hail. We had 2 broken windows and roof damage. We were sleeping so good and roofers started ringing door bells around 9 am waking people up. DH called our insurance company and they are going to send out an adjuster.

DH put the part on the car and it didn't fix it. He will take it to shop to see if they can fix it. I hope it will be okay until after I get my chemotherapy Tuesday. I want to get it fixed before DS & BIL leave town.

Wannabehealthy 04-28-2023 11:26 AM

Trish,I'm sorry to hear about the storm damage. Be careful choosing a roofer. We had our roof replaced after a storm and were lucky to have a reliable roofer. We also had slight damage to a car that was sitting out.

I slept so good last night! Fitbit scored it an 89. Many times I am in the 70s. I feel very good. I think we are going to Texas Roadhouse today. I want salmon but that could change by tonight.

My friend had a bad experience with her surgery. It was outpatient. She went home and had heavy bleeding. Very scary. She called her neighbor because she lives alone. She said she's ok now.

_____________,_,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I just exercised for 35 minutes. I did several different things so deduct a minute between each item I guess. There is one machine I've had for years that you push down on pedals and lift your body weight. I was disappointed that my legs aren't strong enough to do it, not even one push. Hard to believe I used to do 50-100. But I will do it again, whatever it takes. In time my legs will get stronger. I might not have been able to do it because I stood on the vibration platform first. Next time I will try to do it first.

I found a little stool, just a few inches high. I tried to step up on it with my right foot. It was very hard. I had to hold onto something and my knee hurt. But I did it about 8-10 times. Then when I came up the stairs I used both feet instead of doing one step at a time. I had to pull myself up with the railings, but I'm going to continue trying this, and strengthening my right leg. I will have to Google what exercises to do so I don't do the wrong thing.

DH changed his mind about Texas Roadhouse so I guess we will go to Rodneys.

pattygirl63 04-28-2023 02:29 PM

Carol Sue Be careful exercising in a way that hurts your knees. You could do more damage than not. I know you want to exercise and 35 minutes is good as long as you take it easy. Sorry your DH decided to go to Rodney's instead of TX Roadhouse.

DH drove down to the auto place but they were closed for lunch so he won't go back today. Really upsets me because I have a difficult time getting in our car and no way I could get ino some other car that sets higher. DS & BIL offered to loan us their truck which DH can drive but I can't get in. I don't understand his thinking. I want to get it fixed ASAP or at least know it won't hurt to drive it until we have time to put it in the shop when I won't need it again for a while. I just pray God takes care of it and the timing of it all for me.

As for the roof, he called our insurance company and they are sending an adjuster to check it out next Wednesday. Hopefully they will know if the company we are interested in is good. Plus I will look up the company on BBB.

Have a good day.

Wannabehealthy 04-28-2023 06:22 PM

Trish, I can guarantee that my exercise is not going to hurt my knee or anything else. I exercise very gently. Most people would say that the way I exercise is useless but my thinking is that movement is better than no movement. I looked up exercises to strengthen my quadriceps on my right leg and chose the ones that I am able to do. I won't do anything that hurts.. I tried these exercises on both legs. I can easily do them on the left but struggle on the right. So the right needs to be strengthened.

I hope something works out with your car.

I was ok going to Rodneys. I got spaghetti and DH got pizza. As soon as we got seated a lot of people came in and it got crowded. When we left every parking space was taken.

When we had the storm that damaged so many roofs, roofing companies came in from out of state giving low price quotes. The problem is they don't use quality materials. My friend had roofers who didn't speak English. There are very few Latinos in our area so we knew they were from out of state.

Wannabehealthy 04-29-2023 01:28 PM

I really overate yesterday and today so I don't expect good news on the scale on Sunday. I don't know what's wrong with me. :stars:

pattygirl63 04-29-2023 11:37 PM

I woke up this morning with a sore left knee. I tried putting ice pack on the knee but it just made it sore. This isn't helping my walking so I pray it gets better soon so I cab continue to get better.

Wannabehealthy 04-30-2023 11:57 AM

Trish, your left knee and my right! Hope we both do better soon.

I stopped eating at 3 yesterday so im hoping to be back on track. I sure wish I could do this longer than a few days.

Wannabehealthy 05-01-2023 10:30 AM

No scale again. I don't know when I will feel thin enough to weigh.

For the second year in a row DH forgot inspection on my car and it expired yesterday. He does fine with his car but not mine. He was very lucky to call this morning and get an appointment for this afternoon. In the future, I will have to remember....first day of spring, get the car inspected. It only has 7000 miles so it will pass.

Hope you are doing well, Trish.

pattygirl63 05-01-2023 06:20 PM

Knee is feeling much better today. I am able to walk again. I have chemotherapy in the morning.

Wannabehealthy 05-01-2023 09:00 PM

Trish, I'm glad your knee is feeling better and you're able to walk. I hope your chemo goes well. I think this is the last one before surgery and an easier one than before. Or maybe there's one more after this one.

We have been gone all day. I'm tired. We went to get the car inspected then we went to Bob Evans and Goodwill. We were going to go to Texas Roadhouse but it started to storm and get windy. It was also rush hour traffic so we decided to stay closer to home. If he isn't comfortable driving in the storm I don't want to push him. It doesn't matter to me where we eat.

We have to go to Wal-Mart and Aldi's tomorrow. Thursday we have to take the dog for a hair cut. I prefer to stay home.

Wannabehealthy 05-02-2023 02:05 PM

We went to Wal-Mart and Aldis. Wal-Mart has eggs for $1.70. Shock. Aldi's still has them for $2.29. No other prices came down.

Nothing else new.

pattygirl63 05-03-2023 01:24 AM

Carol Sue, I find it surprising that eggs at Walmart came down but not surprised at Aldi, but you would think they would have lowered some things.

Saw my oncologist before chemo and I learned loads of information. I learned that chemo is working and how they know. He asked about pain and I told him about taking the pain meds that I notice a twinge in the ovary where the cancer started. He said, "Good that tells you the chemotherapy is working." Then he told me that the C125 blood test was 1300 the past 2 months and it was over 3300 in the beginning in February when I was diagnosted with cancer. That is how they knew it was ovarian.

He has booked me for another chemotherapy just to reserve me a place. It all depends on the results of cat scan and what surgeon wants to do after reading those results. He explains that they usually do chemo after surgery to clean things up so that we will be cancer free. So if thy decide to do them, I won't complain.

I've got to write my primary to see if I need to change the way I take Lasix because Oncologist is suddenly upset because of swelling. I told him primay says I can't do 40 g everyday because it is to hard on your kidneys so I suggested going back to 20 mg everyday. Oncologist said he has no problem doing 20 mg every day or 40 g every other day. So talk to primary to see what to do. He also said my BP was high although the test that after the 10 steroid I pills I have to take night before chemotherapy which causes it. However, I am wondering if I need to go back to taking 5 mg Lisinopril since it also has fluid with it thatB might help me fight the high BP action of steroid after the infusion. Ihave talked to people who have had surgery/treatments with these doctors who even work there. So I feel very happy with my doctors treatment. He ordered me more pain pills becaue he said thatI will need more when I have surgery. So I had a good doctor's appointment and chemo treatment.

Good night.

Wannabehealthy 05-03-2023 09:04 AM

Trish, I'm so glad that the doctor explained things to you. Its important to know what's going on with your body. Its so good to know that the chemo is working. Now to get the swelling to go down. I remember you saying that you have to wait awhile for surgery. Just think, this will soon be over! Wonderful!

Ever since the egg prices went up Wal-Mart has been cheaper than Aldis. I thought Aldi's would be cheaper. I notice the egg prices the most because I buy so many. I went to Aldi's to buy chicken legs that were on sale and we also got potatoes and carrots. I am on a kick that I want cooked carrots. I have heard that your body craves things that contain the nutrients that its lacking. This is why we are told to eat a wide variety to make sure we get all the nutrients. There are a lot of veggies that I don't eat. I like different colored peppers and I read that they contain different nutrients but I just don't buy them. I don't buy things that DH won't eat so I lose out. I would like to make chicken stir fry with peppers and onion but he would never eat that. He doesn't like foods mixed together. He likes his meat and veggies separate. It is limiting. Sometimes I think I should just eat and not think about nutrients but I have read so many things about it. DH doesn't care. He just eats what he likes.

I think we are going to the casino tomorrow. It has been very rainy this week. The sun will come out tomorrow! Ha Ha

We are going to try again today for Texas Roadhouse. The rain has stopped and hopefully it will stay away.

______________________________

We went to TX Roadhouse. I had ribs and broccoli and the ribs were scrumptious! I've never had ribs anywhere else, but these literally fall off the bone. I think because I've been wanting to to there for a while they were especially good. I get the appetizer so I get 4 ribs. Just enough.

pattygirl63 05-03-2023 11:01 PM

Carol Sue I am glad you got your TX Roadhouse Ribs. I have been hungry for ribs and brisket but haven't got them yet. I want to wait until after surgery so I won't have to worry about eating too much. If we lived close we could eat the way we liked and our DH could eat what they liked because mine doesn't want any of his food touching either. LOL I hope you have a good day at casino if y'all get to go.

Well I had quite an experience last night. I felt brave and changed my routine when I went to get ready to go to bed. I slept most of the day because of the Benadryl they give me for the infusion. I decide to take my top standing up instead waiting till I set down on the toilet like I usually do and DH and left the bathroom and I lost my balance and fell backwards. I couldn't get up and DH is a small man and no way he could get me up. He laid down beside me and held me to calm me down and see if I was hurt. I didn't hurt any where. We called the EMTs and I requested no sirens or lights because I didn't want neighbors standing out in the street wondering what was going on. Thank God, He sent 3 big fireman who helped me get up and helped me walk to the bed and I was able to get in bed like I do every night and they lifted my legs in bed like DH does. I was not hurting any where and no bruises. My hands tingled for a few moments but was much better before they left. I told them to cancel the ambulance because I didn't need to go to hospital and I most definitely would call for one if I needed it. They left and then when I felt better, DH helped me walk back to the bathroom with my walker and helped change into my gown etc and helped me back into bed. He didn't leave my side the whole time. He had said I might be sore today so I remembered the reason I took 2 Tylenol at bedtime before cancer was it kept me from feeling sore the next day. So I had him give me 2 before I went to sleep and I have not been sore. The only thing I experienced today is the tingling that has been working down my pointer finger. It has worked out of right hand and is in the knuckle of left. I finally figured out it has something to do with that is where they put the needle for infusions. I did have bruising in left arm and it has been used more. I haven't told my doctors yet because things I had call from oncology today and things have changed quickly.

Friday morning at 11 am I go to oncology for CT scan so that the surgeon will have time to read it before my 9:20 appointment Wednesday She is working me in for to decide if I am ready for surgery or if she thinks I need to have another infusion. I am praying I am ready for surgery. I would like to see DH son and his family when they are here instead of having chemo because DH won't get to spend much time with them because he has to stay with me for a few days that they are here. Plus we need to get the car in the shop. We can't do that for 2 weeks because of all the appointments I will have to have during this last chemo. If I have another chemo we wll have to wait until after my chemo. So I will pray things go well. I"ve heard that surgery is about 4 weeks after last chemo. If that is true, I could spend some time with DH son and family and maybe use my walker or get a wheelchair from cancer association. Surgery would probably be in June. At least that is what I am praying for. I know I will probably have 2 more infusions after but I'm good with that.

Sorry this has been so long. Just wanted to share everything with you what is going on and still haven't shared everything. Insurance adjuster came today and I think that will work out too. We will get a new roof and the broken windows replaced. won't hear from insurance for 7 to 10 days. So that isn't a quick thing either. The roofer we are using is well known here and I checked him out on BBB and hasn't had any complaints. So God is really working out things for us. So I am feeling blessed in the midst of everything.

Blessings dear friend and thanks for the prayers.

Wannabehealthy 05-04-2023 11:32 AM

Trish, thank you for explaining everything. It makes it easier to understand what is going on with you. I hope everything works out the way you want, so you and DH can spend time with his family. It's hard when you aren't sure how things are going to go.

I'm glad you got a local roofer, not a fly by night from out of town.

I'm sorry you fell and went thru so much. Our ambulance doesn't usually use the lights or siren unless there is heavy traffic and they need to get thru. They are only 1 mile away. In the hospital they always lifted my legs getting into bed and DH did that when I came home. It is so much easier with the hospital bed.

We are going to the casino today. We took the dog for his haircut. He is behaving better now. It only took 45 minutes. I increased the tip I give the groomer and the bather (her husband) because they have not raised their price since we started going there more than 8 years ago. When we first went there Rusty was completely out of hand. Now he is getting used to it.
