Hello everyone.
Meowee, since you aren't in the talkative mood (quite understandably so) I'll talk it up for you. Things have gone pretty well today so far. We actually went to Golden Corral for lunch. Now, a buffet is a total test for me, especially there with those wonderful rolls and desserts. I stuck with vegetables, salmon, pot roast and chicken. I didn't even have my "one bite" of anything that I shouldn't have had. I was amazed how full I was. That might have something to do with my byetta, though. I did eat quite a bit, but not as much as I used to. Then we went bowling and I checked my blood sugar. It was 169, which is really down from before the byetta. My reading last night, after the spaghetti squash, was 117, which was amazing to me. Welcome to Caitlyn. Hi Liz. Just know that you can do this and we all get sad at times. I know a lot of people struggle with depression when they are dieting. We can be a great source of support. Just keep your head up. Back to work tomorrow. It was nice having an extra day off. For anyone who is on byetta, how long did the headaches and fatigue last? I haven't had the naseau that they said would come with it. Just some being tired and slight headache. I'd be interested to see other reactions. Have a great Monday. Chach |

My husbands coworker started that bayetta and lost 10 pounds. he still struggles with nausea. You did very well with the salad bar. Liz,hope you get to feeling better. |
Hi all,,it is snowing like crazy here,so pretty and better than the below zero reading we have had,,would much rather have the snow that the super cold,,my bs was 140 this morning ,,high for me,,but better than the day before, stayed on program yesterday so am feeling good today,,it sure does make a differance in how you feel ,,
I am on byetta since last feb or march and I never had any side effects,,not much anyway, once in a while with a new pen i might get a little headache,,but really never had all the things that some people have,,I have been lucky with that,,I lost wt the first 4/5 months and then it slowed down,,but it does keep my bs under control much better,, Well all, have a wonderful day,,,start back to work in the AM so think I will grab a book and sit by the fire and window and read and watch the snow,,later,,Jeanne |
Yes . . . I'm definitely still here . . . and yes, the weather is definitey still UGLY (or maybe it's again). :( Took my girlfriend in for a hospital appointment today and we just got back as the latest round of the ugly snow-sleet-ice started falling.
My mood is still a little :( too, but I know I will get over it before long. The stress of running around to the doctors and the bad driving conditions to do it in has taken a toll on my BGLs too. Stress will put mine up almost as fast as bad eating. Yesterday before dinner was an 8.0 (144). This morning was fine again at 4.8 (86). Hope the next few days level out again. CAITLYN . . . Welcome to our group. Hope you get a chance to pop over to the 'Getting To Know You' thread to tell us a little more about yourself. Hope to be seeing less of you, more often now that you've found us. ;) LIZ . . . Welcome to you, too. Sounds like you've been doing well just on the Metformin (Glucophage) and that's terrific. WW will work well for you, too . . . just try to keep an eye on the carbs and keep them spread fairly evenly throughout the day. :) CHACHEE . . . Great going at the buffet. That's so hard. Keep up the good stuff, girl. :D JEANNE . . . Amazing how one bad day can leave you feeling so crummy sometimes, isn't it? Glad to hear your are back on track now. :) ROSEY . . . Did you win soooooo much at bingo, you haven't been able to spend it all yet? You can send some to me, if it becomes a burden. :D REBA . . . Hey girl where did you go again? Did you manage to pack yourself away with those Christmas deccies? :) Well, think I'll toddle down stairs for a cup of tea to tide me over until dinner and to warm me up a bit. You keep things moving and shaking, gang. See you tomorrow. :carrot: |

Hey Meowee,
no, I didn't pack myself away with the Christmas stuff;) Saturday night, my sister and her family were over... then Sunday was still warm here (70's-80's) and the sun out, so after church Theresa and I made a picnic and drove to a state park to hike...got back in time for evening service... yesterday we were out of school and i spent the day reading and working on a puzzle.... and here I am today... today it's rainy and cold- low's in the 40's (remember...i'm in South Alabama;) ).... Chach- I sometimes get a headache with the Byetta- usually with a new pen- but then I hadn't really thought about it... i work with first graders.... i do know I had a major headache sunday night.... not sure if it was byetta or something else.... rosey- we must have been posting at the same time... sorry to hear you are under the weather... hope you are feeling better soon.

Hi everyone! Sorry I have kind of been MIA lately. Lots on my plate... It may ice tonight which will make it impossible for me to go work tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed the weather co-operates with MY desires! haha!
I slept like a log last night, which was great. Can't remember when I slept through the night like that. My bg was great this morning... 96! Its been running 20 points higher, so I guess the sleep helped. I need to go find some breakfast, so I will get off here. I will try to be back in a bit. :grouphug: |
Good Morning . . . . . . Wow is it ever snowing and blowing out there . . . very glad I don't have to go anywhere today. Knew we would eventually start to get our share of winter weather, but did it have to get quite this nasty so quickly?
The FFM is trying to cheer me up. She took away a whole 3 lbs this morning . . . just about the largest one week drop since this time last year. . . :goodscale . . . of course, I know it will slow down to the regular tortoise pace again soon . . . but it was that tortoise who won the race in the end. :D ROSEY . . . . . . Sorry you are feeling :( . . . Hope it passes really soon. REBA . . . . . . Hey, I think our temperature is about the same as yours . . . with a little "-" in front of it . . . just a tiny difference. MONET . . . . . . Missed you, girl. Glad to hear you had a great night's sleep. Amazing what a difference it can make. So many things, besides the food we eat, impact on the old BGL . . . absolutely mind-boggling sometimes. Well, guess I'd better bundle up so I can get the garbage out to the end of the driveway. Wish I could just forget about it, but we only get pick-up every two weeks and I don't want to have to save it for another two weeks. :yikes: Have a great moving and shaking kind of day, everybody. Keep on doing the good stuff and the rewards will come your way. See you again soon. :carrot: |

Hi, all. We're all sure having some crazy weather. We've been freezing in the 40s out here. Last night we had a surprise rain which warmed things up a little. Good thing they finished repairing the roof of my apartment building on Monday! I've been on a countdown to my medical fast, which begins tomorrow. Think I've put on about five lbs in the last few days (ice cream binges). Tonight I clean out the refrigerator and throw away all the leftovers. I'm almost relieved. But the weekend will be the hardest.
Rosey I hope you feel better and the other stressful stuff goes away. All the rest of you, stay warm and have a good day.:) |
Morning all
Hope those of you sick get to feeling better.Looking forward to getting to know all of you better. On my way to get my hair cut and its freezing outside! Rosettastone, what is a medical fast? |
Morning! I did not get to go to North Georgia to work today. It is icy up there. :( Here is not too bad...but I do have stuff to get done around here. With my MIL coming tomorrow, I need to get more cleaning done. I am such a slob!
I woke up at 5 this morning and laid in the bed until 6. I got up and checked my bg, and was shocked to see it 229! It has not been that high in six or nine months! It was the last test strip in the bottle, so I opened a new vial, did a control and checked again. It was 196...still awful for me! Now a few hours later, and one cup of espresso and nothing to eat yet, I checked it again...97! Weird. CAITLYN: It is freezing here too! Where are you? I am in suburban Atlanta.... |

The cold would not bother me so bad if I wasn't cold all the time to begin with. Makes it hard to want to walk. |
