Had our dart game last night,,we won,,I hobbled about,,,back still out,,tooth is getting better each day,,,( thank God) bs was 86 this morning so was happy with that,,and the few pds that I was so scared about over the holidays,,,well I got on the scale this morning finally,,,:?: only up one from my ticker tape :carrot: :carrot: :carrot: am happy and thankful for that,,the way I ate over the holidays it should have been more and I bet was but I was to chicken to get on the scale until this morning glad I waited,,,:carrot:

Losing weight while coping with Diabetes is not an easy task . . . but it is possible . . . and it really, really helps to be able to share with a group of people who know just what you are going through. Hopefully we can all move down the bumpy road to better health and fitness together.

I thought I knew what cold could be, coming from Atlantic Canada, but we have had such weird weather lately, I'm beginning to feel like a Southern Belle compared to you two (now) Alaskan charmers . . . wow that is cold.

My day went a lot better today . . . only one nap required.:dizzy: Hopefully tomorrow I'll actually be able to stay awake. If this keeps up, I'll have to talk to my doctor about this silly vaginal estrogen he put me on. So far I don't think I like it. :mad: Any way, gang . . . it's getting late for me . . . especially with only that one nap . . . I did manage to work in a couple of short goes with Buddy and the Frog, though, so it wasn't a total loss. Although I don't know where the hours go at times. Never seem to be enough of them any more. :^:

I know, I know... I haven't posted in a while... I have been reading some, just not posting... things are going ok for me....

reading about y'all's cold weather makes me even colder! and to think, we're saying it's cold and it's only dropping to 30 tonight...ah... the joys of south Alabama!

tonight I'm cold, but I think it's because of my med... Jeanne and Monet, does your Byetta make you cold sometimes?? I've been on it a year and sometimes it does that to me... I haven't figured out the pattern...but tonight I started a new pen... and had missed 2 doses- i know not good... i had grabbed a chick fil a sandwich in Dothan after a dr appointment yesterday (Gastro)... and didn't have my med with me... and then didn't want dinner later- I was full... then this morning, I went to take it and realized I was out. I know- bad girl... but my bs has been ok today.... tonight's dose has hit hard with the nausea/vomiting and coldness... but I think I have it leveling out again....

Appointment with the gastro doc went ok I guess...my primary md sent me because I've been having abdominal pain and reflux- I told him the reflux was from byetta and prevacid has helped tremendously.... I think the pain my be gallbladder related... ultra sound didn't show anything but I have a HIDA scan scheduled for next week and then an EGD 2/2....

I'm up in weight after the holidays- have to get back on track and drop it plus lots more off.

well, let me end this novel and head off to bed!

Another beautiful sunny day shaping up here in rural Nova Scotia and the temps are much more seasonal. Snow is in the forecast for tonight and tomorrow, but hopefully no more Twilight Zone type stuff. :dizzy:

This was my WWI morning and, basically, nothing. A little disappointing since this was one of my best eating and moving weeks in a long time (if you don't count my strange nap-day). Oh well, could be a whole bunch worse. :( I'll just keep reminding myself that 'all things worth having are worth waiting for' and 'slow but steady wins the race' and any other platitudes that pop to mind. :D The human body is a strange mechanism and it definitely works on its own timetable.

Hi REBA . . . :hug: . . . hope your stomach settles down soon, girl and so glad to see you are still with us. We miss all our chickies when they go missing for a bit. ;) Just keep doing the good stuff and you'll be kicking those pounds to the curb in no time.

And that reminds me . . . haven't heard from our rooster for a bit . . . where are you hiding, Glen?

Just me again . . .

Lost my whole afternoon to the Estradiol again . . . really strange reactions. My GP called to tell me he doesn't like the results of the ultra-sound I had on Monday . . . no word from the GYN who ordered the test, of course . . . so now I can stop taking the Estradiol (GP says so) and stay awake, holding my breath. until the GYN decides to tell me what happens next. Wow, am I ever thrilled about this day. :mad:

Anyway, gang, I really hope you all have had a better day than I have . . . here's some (bunches of) :dust: :dust: :dust: to help keep us on the downward path . . . I wonder if it is available in CHOCOLATE. :stress: I could really use some about now.

I have another yeast infection..oh glory..doc says its because my sugars are not level. I honestly thought he was crazy,but looked it up ,and sure enough that is one of the reasons we get that nasty stuff .. Just another of the wonderful things about being a Diabetic..NOT!!!!:mad:
BG was 8.4 not the greatest..but I have not cheated on plan and thought I was doing very well..insomnia is still with me 4 th night ,I am walking around drained of all energy.:( . Mom is doing great :carrot: ..Thank God ..I have been worried about her .. tomorrow i will get out of this house for the first time in 24 days ..no wonder Iam depressed ..anyway so much for the whinning ..anyone have some cheese?:D annie

Hi, all. Cold here today (okay, it's in the low 50's:D ). Had my endo appt. today. He really makes me mad. The earliest appt. I can get is 9:30 a.m., then he is always late. This a.m. he didn't see me until after 10. By the time I got to work I had lost two hours which I either have to make up or charge against my vacation/sick time. :mad: At least my a1c was back down to 5.9, although the fasting sugar was a little high because I've been naughty. Last night was weigh-in -- oh dear, it was bad. Went home an comforted myself with mochi (the ice cream kind) and gave myself frostbite. The fast starts a week from tomorrow and I'm almost looking forward to it. These "last meals" are kiling me. I feel like a slug.
Sorry for all of you who are suffering from unpleasant ailments, especially those caused by medication. Meowee - why were you using the Estradiol? I hope that your doc gets back to you soon about the ultrasound. It's nervewracking to be left hanging like that. :hug:

Morning everyone.. its warmed up alot and is snowing like crazy.. thats ok ill take the snow over below zero any day..my sl was 115 this am.. been holding steady now that the holidays are over.. and im feeling better after the low i was having yesterday.. not sure what it was but my poor hubby should know the signs by now sometimes like i said he just doesnt get it..and hard to describe to a-non diabetic..ive got crackers and juice in the car now and a granolla bar in my purse so maybe that will work for me..jeanne i know how that feels when it seems that no one is addressing you.. i was in agroup a while ago and it seemed like i was talking to myself all the time..:?: anyways with so many new members if i miss any of you its not becuz im snubbing any one but becuz i have senior moments.. everyone one here is so suportive and i want to be there for everyone of you..so viki where are u?..hello to all and hope you are having agreat day..with great choices for ourselves.. please give your smiles away((((hugs))) rosey :wave:

I went to the Dr. today and I am 7 weeks, 1 day pregnant, due on Aug. 27. The baby's heartbeat was strong and I got to see him/her in my belly! It was so cool.

Must still have the estradiol in my system even though I didn't use it today . . . another one of those two nap days . . . this has got to stop . . . I'm getting nothing done and my BGL is going up, too (a reflection of too little activity, no doubt).

GLEN . . . :hug: Glad to hear you are still with us. Christmas is over, boyyo, time to get those sugar levels back under control. YOU CAN DO IT. :D

ANNIE . . . :hug: Oh yeah, those yeast infections are the bane of our existence . . . the little buggers just love our sweetness . . . added to the difficulty of course is any rolls of fat that create extra warmth and moisture for them, too. Just one more reason to keep those BGLs under control. BTW, depression and insomnia will both help to elevate the BGL, too. We live in a vicious circle, kiddo. :o

ROSETTA . . . :hug: Always try to get the very first appointment of the day. Failing that, ask when the doc has lunch and try for the first appointment after that. You know, I don't think I've ever known a doctor who was on time. ;) The GYN put me on the estradiol because I had an 'odd' pap test and the lab recommended estrogen therapy. Of course, no body tells me what was 'odd'. :?:

ROSEY . . . :hug: Go get him girl. :D Men can be so dense sometimes you'd think they practiced in their spare time. You've taken the right step . . . since he's untrainable . . . you have to train yourself to carry emergency supplies. Sad but true. You'll feel better for it in the long run. So will DH. Glad to hear it's a little warmer now. :)

JEANNE . . . :hug: I've wondered about Viki, too. I checked it out and the last time she was on 3FC at all was December 30 or 31 and her last post was here on the 23rd. Hope everything is OK. :( Yes, girl, I think we've all experienced those feelings of invisibility from time to time. I'm also sure it's not intentional; people just get very wrapped up in their own thoughts sometimes. I know I'm guilty of that even though I try hard not to be. :^:

Thank you so much for your warm welcome. I've been a little stressed and wanted to wait until I met with my endo this morning to post.

So, my fasting blood sugar from Monday was 250. My A1C was 14.1. Good news is that my blood pressure, cholesterol and thyroid are all good.

My endo was amazing, which is a blessing. He was very open to listening to me and we worked out a plan which I hope will work. First, let me say that I am a needle wussy! I cannot stand the sight of them and the thought of them makes me queezy! How I got through my gestational diabetes five years ago is amazing.

So, he has me on 500 mg of metro/glucofage in the morning and evening. He also has me starting byetta on Saturday. From what I hear it is amazing, but again, it's a needle that I have to inject twice a day. He said it works a lot like antabuse for alcoholics--you will purge out the bad foods that you ingest if it doesn't agree with you. If it works, it sounds like an amazing medication. I am going to call it my injectable anorexia! Just kidding, but I like the way it slows down the food dumping into your system. Bad side effects the first two or three days, but that is why he is having me start it on the weekend. I'll have to let all of you know how it reacts to my system.

Anyway, it's warmed up here in Anchorage. (That is where I am.) Feels like a heat wave, huh Rosey? I'll take what I can get. My skin is so dry right now. I'm going through the mango vera butter as fast as I can put it on.

You all sound like a great group of people and I'm so happy to have found you.

I'll try to get on here daily, but sometimes that doesn't always happen.
