I LOVE FOOD! And, although I know what foods are healthy, I am a junk food junky. My appetite has been ravenous since I was put on lexapro this past spring. WHAT IS DIFFERENT THIS TIME THAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL: My doc took me off lexapro and put me on a prozac/topamax mix. At least now I'm not constantly ravenous. We lost our first ds when he was 3.5 months old due to congenital heart defects. For the last 6 years I found comfort in food. I'm ready to lose this weight! |

I initially gained weight due to medication (Zyprexa & Risperdal, when I was first in the initial stages of diagnosis). I never managed to lose it again, and also a change in diet didn't help either (I went from strict vegan to eating a lot more dairy and butter fat, etc.). Now, I'm trying to find the discipline to go back to my once healthier lifestyle. |

I've competed in two Miss America local pageants in the past year and part of my drive to lose weight is so I can look better during the swimsuit competition for next August's pageant. The last pageant I was in, I was probably the largest girl there at a size 10 dress and 160 lbs. Eeep. It's a lot of fun, though, and the scholarships make it worth it!! On top of all that crap, I was an exchange student to Japan from March through December of 2004. While I was there I lost 30 lbs. When I returned home I felt great and my friends were all shocked at how different I looked! I left the US at around 188 lbs and returned home at 160. Then I gained probably 20 lbs in the past year, 10 of which was gained during the month of January when I spent basically every day lying in bed. Ouchies. That was probably more info than was neccessary. Oh well. <3 you all!! |
