Hello All!!!
I'm glad to hear everyone is doing well. Keep up the great work!
I am down 2lbs from last week...(only knocked off 2lbs from my 4lb gain, but I'm still happy!! ) I'm working on knocking those other 2lbs off this week, so I can get back on track again!! Yay! I've been doing very well with the walking...still walking 4 miles, 3-4x per week in a very "hilly" neighborhood. This one hill that we do, really kicks our butts! I love it!
I've been doing quite well with the water intake too...been drinking around 68 or more oz a day!
Mamabear, how ya doin??
Have a great week everyone!
Hiya Christie! I am down 5 lbs total for the challenge. I was up 2 weeks ago but back down last week! Great job on your loss!! You'll have that other 2 gone n NO time!
I forgot to post on the usual day, Sunday, so I will just report today's weight---236.2. The scale finally went down a little! I have been eating better (saying no to junk food!)

Awesome job Mamabear!! Keep it up!!
I've been working hard on my eating and water intake this week. We'll see what the scale says on Sunday. I haven't been able to walk that much this week though (only walked once), but I went swimming twice b/c it was soooo stinkin hot! Hopefully I got enough excercise from that. Next week I'll be back to walking 3-4x. We've started walking w/weights too.
Hi. I'm starting the 30 lb challenge late in the game, but I really need to lose as much as possible for an event on Sept 30. I've been stalled in the mid 180's and need to make some serious progress on a daily basis.
My program is this:
- 1300 calories a day, high protein
- Cardio/run 30 mins and abs 5x/week
- Lift 5x a week, alternating upper and lower
Any thoughts on this approach? Good luck everyone!
...but what the heck! I am always looking for new ways to keep myself motivated & focused. We'll see what kind of damage I can do by Sept 30th!
My program: 1300-1500 cal per day, high fiber, lots of protein. I walk 2.5-5 miles 5 days a week, do 60 mins elliptical 5-6 days per week, also mix in yoga, Tae Bo, and toning work. The time I used to devote to watching tv, I now dedicate to being active.
My last weigh-in was 179.9lbs, and as I average 2 1/2 lbs per week, I'll start at 177.4 - should be about 175.9 next weekend. Woohoo!!
... but in a good way! Good morning ladies! Well, did my 65 mins on the elliptical last night, and did some one legged presses, 115 lbs. My hammies and glutes are still sore from doing all of Kathy Smith's Lower Body firming on Saturday, but it's all good!
My motivation for finally getting my act together: having 3 family members diagnosed as either Type II Diabetic (grandmother, uncle), or borderline diabetic (uncle). I realized that that was gonna be me if I didn't make some changes soon. So I decided to use my the will-power that helped me quit smoking 4 years ago to accomplish this goal.
