I had jury duty in October for a murder trial. One of the most interesting (although hardest) thing I've had to do. It's also a lot different from how it looks on TV ..

I had jury duty last year for a sexual assault case. Granddaughter v Grandfather so not at all pleasant. Luckily my fellow jurors were all nice which I think makes a big difference. We sat through the story for 4 days then went to hear the last day of evidence and do our deliberations/verdict, but he didn't show up and got some medical excuse and the whole thing had to be rescheduled for another time and another jury - what a waste of money and time. Did it a few years ago too which was a burglary and car theft case which was a lot more palatable topic (a girl that time, had to find her innocent because just not enough evidence). Been called up two other times too, when I was 18 and about 15 years ago, but got out of those ones for different reasons. My husband's peeved that I've had all these opportunities because he's never been called! I'd be happy to do it again though as it's just a complete change from normal life.

I was excited to see another drop, esp. as it was pre-bathroom, but then I went to the bathroom (before eating/drinking anything), weighed again and it was 258! How does that even work?? So I've taken the first reading, but with a pinch of salt.

I've never had wild weight swings like this month. I'm all over the place. But we finished the jury trial today so I can get back to my normal life again and hopefully the scale will calm down.

Mine was a drug dealer. 3 counts of trafficking and 3 of possession. It was pretty open and shut, as the police had done undercover work and had him on video. Guilty on all 6 counts. Only 1 of the counts was even up for serious debate. Even so, with 6 counts, by the time we reviewed and discussed everything and then came to our conclusions, were were 3.5 hours in deliberation. So 3 full days in court. I have to say that I learned more about the drug world this week than I have in the entire rest of my 40 years.

MrsDeenz: I was glad it wasn't a murder trial, just because I'm sure that would have gone on a lot longer. Both of the cases I've been on have been less than a week, which is much easier to work into a schedule.

ange: That sexual assault one would have been difficult to sit and listen to. Also, you've been called 4 times? That's crazy. I don't know anyone who has been called more than twice. Of all 13 of us on the jury, only 2 of us have ever served before.

I guess the WI yesterday was real because it showed up today as well. Very happy with that on my official WI day - it looks a lot better on my spreadsheet.

Wow, Lacerta, you've had so much going on in March so far. Hopefully now it'll all settle down and you can get back to a normal schedule.

I'm really hoping this is just bloat from the haphazard way I had to eat while in court this week. I'm 100% back to normal now again, so I'm hoping for a drop over the next few days that hopefully will stay gone this time.

Went out for dinner last night and ate all the carb-y food so today's WI is understandable. We're throwing my father a surprise birthday party tonight so I probably won't be better tomorrow (but here's hoping!).. He's giving me all of the anxiety because we told him it's a surprise party for a cousin and he's still undecided as to whether or not he's coming. It's so stressful planning surprises for people.

Lacerta, I hope you get your whoosh now that you're back to normal.

Ok, I'm just confused today. I ate really normally (good normal) yesterday, I went for a 3 mile walk, I drank a lot of water. I didn't do anything off plan. I was as low as 193.4 this week, so this is up almost 4 pounds in just a few days. What the actual heck? At least I know it isn't fat, it HAS to be water weight. But still! I did my measurements today and I haven't lost anything this month. All my numbers were +/- .25" or 0, which is within the margin of error for me, and they averaged out to no change. But I'm ready for this week and next week to be strong.

Thanks Lacerta! I hadn't even noticed that I'd hit my target and I've lost it again already so...

I ate salty food after 9pm last night so it's no surprise that I'm up. It's just water but not what I want to see!

Ok that's a little better. I'm back into the 195s, where I've spent most of the last month. Definitely been stuck for a while, in the mid 190s since early February. I'm ready to move down again now, please.

Today is my one year anniversary of starting this process, and I'm down 72 pounds in that 12 months, with around 50ish pounds more to go. But really, if I just lost 30 more, I think I could live with that. I'd still be slightly overweight, but not by much, and with my super dense bones (I always test literally off the top of the chart), large frame and big non-fatty breasts, I can't expect miracles on the scale. So while I'm leaving 150 as my goal weight, if I can just get to under 165, my guess is that I'll be ok with the shape and size I am at that point. Besides, if I'm not, I can always change my mind.

I really do like reviewing all the downward results in here. It is inspiring! Keep going, everyone!

I am starting anew, again, today....my biz-trip last week killed eating habits, sleep, everything.

I did not even weigh today. But, I did make it to the gym.

I will weigh on Wednesday and then set a 12-week target (to be down 8- to 10- pounds). I am getting REALLY close to summer when I look where 12 weeks from now puts me. Sigh. I really should have gotten my crap together in January and February instead of wasting too much time and NOW having to really, really diet hard.

Beeps - we're diet twins the last week. I too had a 7-day business trip that stuffed up my eating/sleep the lot. I also avoided the scales yesterday and I also went to the gym yesterday (and today). But i'm on the straight and narrow again now for a bit til I drop whatever I've just piled on. I reckon it'll take 2 weeks.

Newlyn - you're going great! well done girl!!

Lacenta - a well deserved scale nudge for you too. Even i'm impatient for you to reach your next mini (MAXI) goal
