Follena: I have chocolate almost every day, so I sympathize. I usually try to just keep it to about a Hershey's kiss worth each time, so it doesn't add too many calories.

New low again today, so I feel good about it. Plus, I'm really sore from my physical labor yesterday. I definitely need to be doing my basic workout so I have more functional strength without the DOMS. Moar squats!!! Anyway, so I think I'm probably hanging onto some muscle water today, so the new low was especially exciting.

I've been caught in this nationwide CenturyLink outage. Didn't have any internet connection yesterday, so I posted from work, where we have a different provider. Have to post quick this morning, because it keeps going up and down still, so no time for personals. I was wrong about the DOMS yesterday. It hit fully as the day progressed and NOW I'm definitely retaining water. No other reason for me to be up today, as I've had several really healthy eating days, and walked 3 miles on my treadmill a couple times this week, which is more than I have been doing lately, so I should be down, not up. Definitely water retention.
1: 265.5 New low!
2: 266 Of course it went up today! This was pre-bathroom though so I'll take it.
3: 266 Pre-bathroom again. This is somehow becoming a thing. Glad I'm sticking and not gaining though.
4: 266.5 Pre-bathroom and I'm sick.
5: 267 Sick in bed now so I'm not surprised it's up.

Yesterday I ate 1000 calories less than the day before! I don't know whether that contributed to today's loss or whether I was just dehydrated when I weighed. Happy to see it though, even if it's just for a day!
Last night I had a lovely visit with my friend from high school days. She recently retired. She showed me her art studio and I'm just so happy for her. She goes out more now, to the gym and to see friends, because in retirement, you lose all that social contact. I bought her a rose gold furry scarf from Chapter's. She wanted to see my son's wedding album, so sweet. Was lovely to share that with her because when my sons were wee tots, she often visited. Then her grown son came home and my goodness, he is so tall, and such a gentleman.
I'm happy with how IF is helping me lose weight during my week off from work. This morning I had a few aches and pains in my hips. I think my body is grumbling from having to shift how it moves after losing 16 pounds. That, or 10 hour sleeps is a bit too much during my week off

Gosh, that was unexpected! I had a pretty normal food day yesterday with minimal Christmas chocolate so maybe the shock of that got things moving! It also means that I've lost 2 stone, which feels significant. I won't celebrate until it sticks though! I'd really love to say goodbye to 266...
That's interesting that your body is grumbling at the weight loss, Follena. I've noticed that I'm sleeping better because I'm not being woken up by bits of my body getting in the way, but I'm also having to do much more intense exercise to increase my heart rate.
Newlyn: That's an exciting drop just in time for New Years.
gardenerjoy: Thanks for the new thread. I'm looking forward to the days starting to get longer again and stepping things up a notch again after getting a little lax over the holidays.
Follena: Jealous of your week off. I actually prefer to eat just twice a day, but have trouble on work days. My boss (my mom) and I decided to take advantage of the quiet this week to get a bunch of backlogged work done, so I did take Monday and Tuesday off, but worked long shifts Wednesday through Friday, with much physical labor involved. I'm still sore today, although it is starting to wear off. But the longer shifts meant that I was not in control of my schedule and since she is both my mom and my boss, I have trouble saying no to her on going out to lunch. I ended up going out twice with her, but made good choices both times. Thursday I had a soup and salad bar at Jakers with mom and Friday had a grilled chicken burger and broccoli at Red Robin with both mom and dad. Dad ordered fries as an appetizer. I wish he hadn't. Mom and I agreed that we don't miss them if we don't order them, but if they are there, they are hard to resist. I only ate 3 of them, so could have been worse. On the plus side, we did get most of our work caught up this week, and I'm going to take Monday and Tuesday off again, so hopefully I can drop a couple pounds over the next few days. I definitely lose more weight when I work fewer hours.

Total Loss for Entire Month:
I'm not trending the right direction right now, as of today, I'm only down 2.6 pounds for this month. However, I looked at my average weights and my average for the last 7 days is down 4.4 pounds from where it was 4 weeks ago. So I am still dropping about a pound a week, it just isn't showing today. I'd still really like to end the year back in the 205s again, but we'll see whether that is possible in the next 2 days.
However, I'm ok with whatever the scale shows, because I am dropping inches. I measured my waist this morning (just a quick, unofficial measurement, going to do all my official ones Monday to end the year), and came in around 37.5". That's amazing, because last time I measured, I was 38.5", which I suspected might not be right, because the time before that was 39.5". So that means that despite only being a few pounds down, I did lose an inch off my waist in the last 2 weeks and 2 inches over the last month. Excited to see where all the other measurements come in this round.
gardernerjoy: thank you for starting January thread. I intend to post there starting Tuesday. Lacerta: I'm same way, lose more on days off because I have to eat more when I work. Congrats on the inches lost!!
I'm doing my usual see-sawing up and down on weight until it budges. One day at a time.

Congrats on your measurements Lacerta! Follena, I really like seeing how weight fluctuates. I have to weigh daily for accountability and it's interesting how sometimes there are gains/losses for no apparent reason, that's just how your body works.
So my loss has stuck around (for today at least), which is a relief. Last week my average daily calories were 2060 so I'm bemused that I've lost anything. Yesterday was only 1200ish and I was much more active than I've been for a while. I have to go outside a haul a few bags of slate for the garden and then move some furniture in the house so that'll be my exercise for the day.

Taking today with a grain of salt. I got up early to get my grocery shopping over with before the New Years rush, so weighed in 2 hours early, prebathroom. Hopefully I'm back into the 205s to end the year tomorrow.
Eeesh, the cat woke me at 4:30 am and I couldn't get back to sleep. So I switched sheets on my bed, threw my comforter in washer, cleaned the litter box, fed the cat, made bacon and eggs and coffee, and dyed my hair ... all before 7:00 am LOL Then I had a nap until 10:00 am thank goodness. Ooooo, 2 more days until the New Year.
Newlyn: Hope you slept better last night. I've been waking up super early like that a lot lately, and I hate it. I don't mind waking up around 5:30 or 6, but earlier than that just annoys me. You're right though, you do get a lot of work done when your day suddenly becomes 3 hours longer.

I was right about being back down today. Felt good to end the year on a new low. Heading in the right direction. That put me down a total of 62.2 for the year. I didn't quite make my overall goal (darn September plateau, grumble, grumble), but I feel like I did great. I'm ready to push on into the new year and kick more butt.
Hope you all have a fabulous and safe New Year's Eve tonight, and here's to an amazing 2019 to come.

Congrats on the new low Lacerta! Great end to the year!
I stayed the same for the last day of 2018. I started losing weight on July 6th and I've lost 28 pounds in 25 weeks, which is 1.12 pounds/week. A steady weight loss but slower than I'd like, although I've had injuries and illnesses in that time that caused me to plateau for a few weeks. I started losing in July from a higher weight than I was last January so the overall yearly loss isn't great, but it's lower than this time last year so that's something. Hopefully now that I'm in the swing of things I'll see good results next year, especially if I continue to check in with you lovely people every day! 2019 is going to be stressful with all the work I have to do for my Master's and my dad continuing to deteriorate, but I'll make every effort to stay on track.
Hope you enjoy your New Year celebrations! And good luck to all of us for 2019!
Newlyn: from 291 to to 265 is no small feat, especially while getting a Master's degree. Here's wishing you continued success in 2019!!
Lacerta: congratulations on ending the year at a new low. Hope you stop waking up so darn early.
Well my little experiment with IF during my week off, of two meals per day has not paid off. Prolly the cheese and Hungarian salami did me no favors. Have to be careful not to eat more than one ounce of cheese. I'm going back to my usual 3 meals per day and I'm grateful I at least can bring in the new year at 179 instead of 193. According to my small body frame and my height, a healthy weight range is anywhere between 129 and 142 pounds. In my 20s I weighed 130 pounds. So my goal of 140 is pretty reasonable and I think I can get there in 2019.
