There is absolutely no reason for a gain today, so I'm guessing Sunday's breakfast splurge just caught up with me. It is the only explanation I can think of.

1: 269.5 New decade! I'm ill today though so I don't know what'll happen tomorrow.
2: 268.5 Sooo, this is good but is it because I was ill and ate very little or because I'm following the same pattern as last month?
3: 269 I think this is probably sodium too because I had sausages. I was very good at the fair: tiny tastes of chocolate, cake, and olives.
4: 270 Not enjoying the bouncing around. I'm not exercising because of my injured foot so that's not helping.
5: 270.5 Going the wrong way but food-wise there's no reason for it, just my lack of exercise because of my foot, which is swollen and I can hardly stand on it.
6: 269.5 Keeping my calories low because I'm mostly sitting on the sofa with my foot elevated. Seeing my doctor today so hopefully I can get some advice.
7: 268 I was up peeing all night which must have been water after a few sodium-heavy meals. Yesterday I ended up having an x-ray on my foot for a suspected stress fracture. Thankfully there's no fracture but I won't know if there's anything else, such as arthritis, until the GP gets the full report.

I've realised a couple of things. 1) The importance of sleep. I'm a night owl but now that I'm back at university I need to go to bed and go to sleep - not read for two hours! Also, I live with my parents because my dad has dementia and I've mentioned before how we're awake a couple of times a night with him, so again, I need to go to bed and sleep while I can. I'm starting to see patterns in my weight loss: when I sleep well I lose weight, when I sleep only 4-5-6 hours, I don't.
2) One of my local supermarkets sells a serving-size pouch of mixed pulses, beans, and kale. When I eat it for lunch or dinner with a protein, I lose weight, and I can use it in place of potato, rice, and pasta. Over the past couple of weeks I've been a bit lax and just gone along with whatever my parents were eating instead of eating my pulses. When I lived alone I used to cook up a pan of lentils and beans, portion them out into bags, and then freeze them. I should start doing it again because it would be much cheaper than buying from the supermarket.

Hey Ladies and Gents! Sorry it's been quite a few days. I made it through the whole weekend beer and cocktail free. I haven't seen a drop in weight yet, but I am keeping track of WW points. I finally was able to work out last night. I damaged my big toe while at Disney World at the end of September. It turned black and required the podiatrist to cut out the embedded piece of toenail. Now it looks like I am likely going to lose the nail, but finally it is healing and not as painful. I could actually put my tennis shoes on last night and Turbo Jam. Newlyn - I can totally relate to the foot pain and not being able to exercise.
Welcome to the newbies! I hope you are doing well on your journey!
Happy Hump Day, everybody!

I almost did a NWI today, as I stayed up late watching the election results and then had to get up early and weigh in earlier than usual. But it wasn't as bad as I thought it might be. Broke even for the week.

boatingmommy Pulses are things like lentils, beans, split peas etc. I think it's just a way of describing the dried version of legumes like beans and peas.

Total Loss for Week Two:

I hate this time of the month at work. I worked a 10.5 hour day today, with no break (yes, it's legal, since I work for my parents, also they offered me a break, I was just too busy to take it, they did bring me a Subway sandwich, so I took 5 minutes and scarfed that down with some water). Right in the middle of everything, my keyboard stopped working and we didn't have any batteries, so I had to run and steal a keyboard off another computer, and the phone never quit ringing today, like they know how busy I was and decided that meant it was the perfect time to call. Still didn't finish my work that has to be done by tomorrow, so tomorrow, I'm going in at 6:30 instead of 8 and will probably work another 10+ hour day. Fun times. But that is the end of my busy time at work. However, I do have a lot of stuff to get done, so I'll probably still be full time for the rest of this month, just to catch up. But just full time, not crazy overtime. Normally, it isn't this bad, because my mom does the crazy work with me and so we get it done a lot faster, but this month she had to go to a funeral, out of town, tomorrow morning. So she had to leave today and be gone for the busiest two days of the month. Sometimes, that's the way it goes, though. I told her she should go, so I can't complain too much that she went. Just tired.

I almost always end up gaining a pound or two during this busy work week. I'm hoping not to go any higher than today's weight before I start dropping again.

9: 268.5 This is fine. I ended up eating a sandwich and a KitKat after midnight so I expected it to go up.

We got home from the hospital at midnight with my dad. He fell getting out of the shower at 10.30am and we had to call our care agency to get him off the floor, then he complained of rib and hip pain so the agency advised us to get a GP doctor callout. She came at 2pm and wanted him to get an x-ray so she ordered an ambulance because we wouldn't be able to get him in the car. The ambulance showed up at 8.30pm because it wasn't an emergency, and he was discharged from hospital at 11.45pm. It was a very long stressful day and then I couldn't sleep, so I didn't expect much from my WI.

Gosh Lacerta, that sounds so stressful! Please take care of yourself!

Well done on your loss boatingmommy

flower1: You continue to do amazing.

Newlyn: Thanks, and right back at you. You had a very stressful day as well. Hope your dad is ok and I'm sorry about your foot. I'm glad it isn't broken, but I hope they figure out what is wrong with it soon. Glad to see you down in the 268s

The last 3 days have been rough. I'm not really concerned about yesterday's weight, even though I was up a bunch, because I had to weigh in 3 hours earlier than usual. But I always gain weight for the first 10 days of the month, and this was only a 0.8 pound gain overall. Now I'm past my busy time at work and ready to move downward again. Hopefully I'll be back down to where I started the month by tomorrow.
