kfunk: You feeling that way is an inspiration to me to stick around and get back on track, so thank you!

gardenerjoy: Thanks, it's good to be back!

--------------------------------------

Sorry about not posting yesterday...there was no weigh-in because I did an early morning hike (6.5 miles) and was tired, swollen, and hungry when I got back, so I ended up eating before weighing in. Whoops! Went for a more typical trek (5 miles) this morning and just had a small snack, so I went ahead and weighed in today...I was hoping for a small whoosh after burning so many calories yesterday and this morning (especially since I wasn't feeling very well yesterday and ended up eating less than 1100 cals -- bad, I know!) but I'm thinking that - since I'm still so sore - I probably have some bloating in the muscles. Will try to hydrate more than usual today to help flush all that acid out. That, and I'm probably expecting too much from just two workouts because I am impatient...hahah. Hope everyone is doing well!

ophelia great job on the 6.5 mile hike and following that up with a 5 mile one!! No doubt, your body is holding on to the water, but you always have really nice whooshes!!!
I am a little bit surprised that I haven't gone down at all. This is day 3 of low carb, both days I have kept my net carbs <25g.

kelijpa: Nice loss!

kfunk: Thank you! I am thinking about taking a rest day tomorrow morning to see if recovering a little will help flush some of that out....we will see. Also, hoping that you get your whoosh soon to reward your dedication to keeping low carb. That's probably what I should be doing, but as a vegetarian, it seems like it would be so hard...I applaud you for keeping at it!

gardenerjoy: Updating my goal for an additional 9 lbs, since I hit my first goal this morning. (Just in case you didn't have time to read full-on posts today!) I hit it earlier than expected due to the weight gain bloat de-puffing a lot during the first week....so, just upping the goal to reflect the rest of the month proceeding as normal. It's a little ambitious, but I want to try to hit an even number if I can...lol.

--------------------------------------

Weigh-in was 239.0 today, which means I hit my first goal for the month. (I am only hitting it so early, because I had a lot of bloat from the gain that came off in the first week...so, I will add another 9 lbs to update my goal for the month to 230 even.) Also another 5 miles down first thing this morning. I have never been a morning person at any point in my life, but I figure - if I am going to have to be up anyways - I might as well get it done, and it's been nice to be done right at the start of my day instead of having to make sure I can squeeze it in sometime in the evenings. There were many, many nights that I wasn't able to and just ran out of daylight to do it in, so this avoids that altogether...lol. It gives me energy in the morning, but I feel like I am hitting a midday slump something fierce, so I'll have to see if that fades a little once my body gets used to being active again.

ophelia Congrats on hitting your first goal so early in the month, that has to feel amazing!!! Did taking a rest day make a difference?

I think it would be extremely difficult to go low carb as a vegetarian!! Good for you for getting your workout out of the way in the morning, it is not an easy thing to do!!

kfunk: I am definitely feeling a lot better muscle-wise today, so I think so...I'll be ready to head back out tomorrow! And, thank you -- I'm hoping I can keep up a decent pace of loss after slowing back down to normal after the initial bloat purge...we will see. Haha.

--------------------------------------

Weigh in was 238.0 today. I ended up taking a rest day from my walk this morning, but will get back to it tomorrow. May also do a yoga video this evening to help stretch out those muscles even more. We're doing burrito night tonight at the house, so I'm hoping I can navigate that and indulge a little without going too crazy. I love burritos more than most things, haha. Wish me luck! I guess I better start hitting the water a little harder this afternoon, because I have been failing at that and need to prepare my body for the incoming sodium. Fingers crossed that I don't have a gain tomorrow, and - if I do - only a small one.

ophelia How did burrito night go, they sound so good!! I'm glad that your muscles feel better! I had no energy last night so ended up skipping my workout. Its been over 4 days now and I have not lost an ounce, I think I must be doing it wrong because I feel like I am the only person on the planet that doesn't have a drop when they start low carb!

kfunk: The burritos were amazing, but that was the problem ...totally sent me off the rails, because I guess I haven't worked up my self-control enough yet since coming back, lol. Back on plan today, though! And, I am glad to see that your scale has finally started moving for you over the past couple days! I know how frustrating it can be to see no losses when you make healthy changes. Hope it keeps moving down from here on out!

---------------------

Well, burrito night ended up being a bad idea this soon into my fresh start, because it triggered a full-on three day binge! (My husband ended up ordered pizza the next day, too.) Whoops...lesson learned, ugh. So, sorry I was missing for a couple days -- I was embarrassed. But, avoiding the scale wasn't going to help me any, so I am here to report a three pound gain...to the ounce, actually, as my weigh-in today was back up to 241.0. I got in my walks at least, though. Refocusing today and hoping to get back to where I was sometime in the next few days. Unfortunately, this all happened at the end of the week, so I will only show a 0.2 lb loss for Week Two, but I will do my best to make up for it in Week Three! I will have to plan accordingly for this coming Friday, though, because that is my and my husband's 10 year anniversary, and we have reservations at a yummy Italian restaurant that night...lol. So, of course, that will be right before my next weekly weigh-in... Haha.

Week Two

09: 240.6
10: 239.0
11: 238.0
12: NWI.
13: NWI.
14: 241.0
----------------------------
End of Week One: 241.2
Total Loss for Week Two: 0.2 lbs.

I'm apparently on a plateau. I'm 138.6 today. My body apparently likes this weight. I'm happy right now as long as I'm not gaining.

Starting weight: 138.8
Goal weight: 135.0
