Happy Friday Chicks!
Soooo, posting from my cell (which by the way is awesome as the last time I was on these challenges I did not have that convenience.) It has its pitfalls (no advanced options etc) so I'll do my best. Sandye, that is awesome. Congrats on first goal. (Insert all the crazy emotiocons here) As for dresses, dunno. I'm a t-shirt/jeans gal myself, soooo no help here. Sorry! I know when I was down to 14/16, I loved me some old navy. JC Penny's has dresses. I bought a dress to go to a summer wedding there a few years back, was a 12 then though. I just bought a really nice plus size swimsuit there as well. Perhaps you can check there? Good luck on your trip today. Lovemylife, I am so sorry you guys are going through this. The only reason they wouldn't have him on TPN or others nutrition is if his labs looked good and showed no evidence of dehydration etc. Do they have an Infectious Disease doctor working with you? Ask a lot of questions. Not to the nurses or interns but the doctors. If there is a reason they will tell you and if they won't then you need to speak with someone over their head, the person that actually runs the hospital. Please let us know how it goes. I wish you guys the best. -------- Sorry if I didn't get to everyone. It's my day off and we have loads to do for va action prep and loads of laundry. Ugh! In any case, TOM is still hanging around but I was down a pound this morning. I really want to see goal, so come on whoosh!!! Ya'll have a great day. Will catch up with personals Sunday. |
LMAO at VA action prep. Thank you auto correct. I couldn't edit my post above so please excuse any autocorrect mishaps! (That was supposed to be vacation prep.)

Jacqui So close!! You'll make it soon!
Delphi Have fun on your va action!! ;) ____________ Sorry I can't get to everyone. I'm having a hard time adjusting to my new work schedule. I'm a little disappointed with the scale but I think it has to be water weight since I'm doing really well. I think because of how sore my muscles are from work that my muscles are retaining water to heal themselves. At least I think that happens. I read an article once about how you shouldn't trust the scale after strenuous exercise since your muscles with hold onto water to repair themselves or something like that. I'm going with that since it makes me feel better. But holy crap is work a workout! I'm standing and moving all day. And then when I restocking/straightening the shelves, which is all the time, I'm generally in a squat position for the lower shelves. My thighs hate me!!! Which is a good thing...but ouch!!! Good for you staying on plan. I hope the virus runs its course quickly so your son can go home. I'm sending you and your son some prayers today. iDream I homeschooled my kids for over 20 years. They have all graduated, so I'm not homeschooling anymore, but I'm still teaching other kids. I remember those rainy park days and trying to figure out an alternative. :rain: Good luck, and I do hope you and your mom have fun shopping! LovelyLeah How wonderful, a workout at work. Your body will adjust to that soon and then your weight will drop. :crossed: Noggs Wow, you're doing great! :carrot: I love summer too! :sunny: :beach: There's nothing more lovely than a summer afternoon. If I'm ever successful at losing weight, it usually happens during the summer. |
Hello ladies! I met goal #2 too. Not 'holding my breath' this latest weigh-in will stick for tomorrow as we are going out for dinner tonight and it's more likely to make me hold water (why is that?), but I'm rolling!!!!
Start was 253.6 Initial goal was 8 pounds. Reached that. (245.6) Second goal was 10 pounds. Reached that. (243.6) Today's weigh in: 243.0 |
BerryBB Your on a roll! Great job!!!
|
Delphi, woohoo! Definitely prep for some VA action! Oh wait, are you even going to Virginia? :p
Leah, just a little stubborn water weight before you hit GOAL! BerryBB, my word, lady, you are killing it! Way to go!!! :bravo: Magistra, lol, it IS fun when the scale cooperates, isn't it?! Great job! :cp: Noggs, I'd say you had a decent week! Yay! :yay: |
Sometimes I think my mind and body join in cohoots and say, "Okay, let's mess with her!" Lol! One lb away and my whoosh streak has ended. I still have time left, but today is Carb Day, so my scale will go up tomorrow. Hopefully it won't go into another stall but will come down far enough to make goal by the end of the month! :crossed:

Happy Saturday everyone!!! I hope everyone slept well last night and has been having a fantastic morning!!
JacquiD ~ I hear ya! In the past when I have found someone I like, they end up changing salons and not letting me know or they move or I move...yeah, I just wasn't meant to have glamour hair. lol ;) You can do this!! One pound is easy peasy after the awesome month you've had! You got this!! :cheer: Delphi ~ Ooooh girlllll I see a whoosh in your future! I can just feel it!! Down a pound during TOM?! That's awesome! A vacation, how fun!!! We'll be vacation buddies! Of course we won't be in the same places, but the challenges will be the same--I got your back girl, if you need a kick I'm your girl! You got mine? ;) Thanks for the shopping recommendations! I think I am going to wait until the last possible moment to shop...that way I'll be a the lowest possible weight. LovelyLeah ~ Yeah, you'll kick that water weight to the curb in no time! Your job sounds like it's crazy busy, you're burning calories all day long! Don't forget, with upped activity, you might need to up your calories too. Just a thought. Noggs ~ You're doing a fantastic job!!! Congratulations on the nice loss!! Magistra ~ It's nice to meet a fellow homeschool mom! :) We managed to park ourselves at our usual hangout, the library. I swear we live there! You're having a great month! Congratulations on the loss!! berryblondeboys ~ look at you GO!!! WTG girl!! Wow!! Mwahaha!! A fellow homeschool mom has started working out and texting me daily about it. I am so proud of her. I also told her about this site, so perhaps she'll join us. This comes a perfect time! Vacation is tough when you're trying to lose and having a fresh shiny newbie with tons of motivation just cranks mine up!! :D Lots to do today as I have put off everything until the last possible minute . Laundry, packing, cleaning out the van (please stay away for a little while rain!), putting the car carrier on the van, cleaning, organizing, more packing, planning, shopping...yeah, I'll be busy. Then tomorrow it's off to my ils' house for Father's Day and some off plan food...give me strength! I had a slightly irritating thing happen yesterday. As my workout buddies and I were chatting about diet and exercise, one of the other homeschool moms was getting ready to leave and said in a snarky voice, "I'll leave you ladies to all of your diet talk" with a snarky look to boot, and started to head out. I smiled, said goodbye and made quick small talk to be nice (well, she did all the talking actually) and then she left. :dunno: I dunno...even when I was at my heaviest, I never felt angry at people who were more fit than me or that were trying to get there. I usually felt jealous and hated myself for getting to where I was. It wasn't their fault, so I was never rude to them. Sigh...oh well, what does T. Swift say? "The haters gunna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate..." I shall shake it off. ;) Have an amazing weekend girls!!! Keep your eyes on the prize and keep fighting the good fight and for Pete's sake--don't forget to DRINK YOUR WATER!!! :D :D :D |
...checking in, as I've been AWOL...June 20 already...where has the month gone??? Work demands have increased dramatically. That and dealing with this RA has derailed my life :(. I've not been losing, & grateful to not be gaining, with swelling and meds and all. The fatigue and pain have been awful and the fevers are not fun. I finally had my appt with a different rheum (boy, that 1st one was an idiot!), and am now on meds--hoping they will do the job SOON! Bad that this is a severe case, but good that it is apparently early stage--thankfully, no obvious evidence of joint damage! Feet and knees are somewhat better, but most days I can barely use my hands or right arm to do even the simplest, most ordinary things. I'm sooo behind with gardening and housekeeping, and we have relatives coming to visit next week :yikes:. Trying not to worry or get too depressed. (You know it's bad when you're grateful you haven't peed your pants at work yet 'cause it takes so long with the buttons!)
Enuf whining. I hope to be among the land of the living and losing soon. (The reasons to lose keep increasing.) You all seem to be having so much fun. I KNOW I would be happier if I were losing. |
Yay! I reached onederland! Also I have lost all the weight I put on this past semester. So four months of weight gain have been lost in 27 days. That's incredible to me!

I don't know . . . might be unrealistic. I figure whatever number I get to, it was worth setting the goal, and I'm definitely doing this again next month. I have never gotten into the habit of weighing myself every day. I've always felt a little afraid to do that since I know my weight can go up and down quite a bit from one day to the next. Now that I've tried it, I find that whatever the scale tells me in the morning, I am motivated to either eat with caution or eat with flexiblity. I am not so scared anymore of what the scale might say. berrybb Going out to dinner does that to me too. I think it's all the salt they use in the food when they cook. It's tastes delicious, but puts the water weight on. Good luck! LovelyLeah Congratulations on reaching onederland! :bravo: That is incredible! :woohoo: Good for you! You did it! JacquiD Crossing my fingers that you reach your goal! :goodluck: You can do it! iDream Yes! The library, how we loved the library! Still love it. It was so sweet of you to take a moment to give that snarky mom some respect and attention. I'm sure she appreciated you for it. I always feel that when people say snarky things, they must be experiencing some kind of stress or pain in their life. They project their feelings onto others and it comes out in this ugly way. It's not fair to do that to people, and I usually feel defensive when someone says snarky things to me, but then they are obviously suffering somehow, so in the end I feel empathetic towards them. SeeMyFeet I love your name! It makes me smile. I'm so sorry to hear about your RA. My dad has that and he has good days and bad days. I hope they get the meds right for you. It's good that you are maintaining. We will be right here when you are ready. |
well Magistra, the heart is ready, but the brain is foggy and the bod doesn't wanna move. Hubs brought home some yummy looking strawberries today, but I gave up on getting the flimsy package open, so no strawberries for me. Given how many meals I'm skipping on accounta stuff like that, you'd think I'd be losing tonnes. I just logged my weighins over the past few days, and starting to journal calories again today. Let's hope I can keep up.
So many moving into Onderland...good to see.... |
Jacqui Join me in onederland, you are so close!
|
Just checking in! Hope the weekend is going great for you guys. Will catch up in the morning before work!

magistra17 ~ I'm with you!!! I have 3 pounds to go as well. Perhaps we will pull it off and perhaps not, but wow at how far we have come for the month. Weighing daily can be difficult but I like data and the more data you have, the more information you have to see patterns and with those patterns come a better understanding of what works, what doesn't etc. I'm rooting for ya. I hope we both get to see GOAL and if not, we can knock it out of the park next month..eh?
LovelyLeah ~ :bravo: on reaching ONEDERLAND and GOAL!!!!! That is awesome. Hope things get better at work for you. I'm sure you will be able to adjust better once you have been there a little longer and get used to the schedule? I am so excited for you. No longer seeing those 2's before your weight is a boost within itself. Congrats and you are doing an amazing job. SeeMyFeet ~ I do hope they put you on a regimen that will work for you. Believe me when I saw I feel your pain. My worst time with it is during TOM. No amount of exercise of positive thinking helps at all with the pain or fatigue. Its just one of those things that we do our best to get through. I have lived with it for about 2-3 years now and my motto is fake it until you make it. I still have weeks where I just can bear to hold a cup to take a drink much less move to workout and so on those days/weeks I really control my calories. Its a difficult and slow process but the little things will start to add up and a loss will happen. Just know, you are not alone in this and we will be here for you if you need us. Keep your head up and just keep moving forward. iDream ~ Oh my and people with their comments. Honestly, I don't see how some folks live with themselves day in/day out. On the positive side though, I'm glad you have that support outside of the chicks here. That is a winning combination and it shows as you are doing an amazing job. Good luck with all the vacation prep. Today is ours though I will be working and the boys and my fiance will be doing all the grunt work. I did manage to get all the clothes we need to pack washed and folded and ready to pack yesterday but that was the extent of it. When are you guys leaving? We are going to leave Saturday night around 10, so I still have a little time. So, I was toying with bringing my scale since we are driving this time? What do you think? Good idea or heck no its vacation? berryblondeboys ~ :carrot: Awesome. Great job on hitting GOAL again. I need to be doing what you are doing. Whats the secret? Jacqui ~ You know, I believe its there, its just not showing it to you on the scale. I'm sure you will post it soon. Can't wait. I'm so excited for you. Noggs ~ You are doing so well and getting so close to kissing those 3's goodbye. I'm sure you will see it soon with all the hard work you are putting into it. _____________________ Hey ya'll  Well, I'm holding steady on the scale but I think TOM is gone. So I basically have 6 days before vacation starts and need to hit 3 pounds to hit my goal for the month. So, I'm toying with the idea of taking my scale with me on vacation. What do you guys think? I want to enjoy my vacation and I don't think it would take any enjoyment out of it. I'm used to the fluctuating scale by now, so I don't think it would impact me in that regard but just to see it there in the bathroom, might be a motivator or reminder if you will, that vacation is all great and fun, but there is a larger goal at hand here and a freakin' wedding dress to fit into..lol! I don't know. I have always been of the mindset of "its a vacation, enjoy it to the fullest" so I don't know. I'm just conflicted. Well, I gotta get off here and get to work. Congrats to those of you who've already hit your target for the month! I had a gain of 1.4 after my last check in that decided to hang around a few days. Finally back down a pound today so still looking at 2 more to meet my goal this month.
I also finally got in a little exercise on Thursday. I was off work before dark for once and made the impulse decision to finally go check out the greenway in my area (I've lived on this side of town 10 months now and am just getting to it). I walked a little shy of 2 miles and my muscles are still slightly tender from it. I've been struggling with the mental battle around that since. I just want to be lighter so that exercise isn't so hard, but I know if I really want it to be easier I need to be doing it more to build my strength. SW: 336.4 CW: 326.4 GW: 324.4 |

It's interesting how I could feel it when I got up this morning. I don't think I drank enough water yesterday and I did eat some salty food in the evening. My daughter made dinner for me, but it was nachos. I didn't want to be rude and not eat it. After all I had to praise her for taking the initiative to make dinner. :D I don't know what the scale will say tomorrow as we are going out to dinner for Father's Day. Restaurant food usually also makes me retain water. :p Delphi Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. I really needed to hear that. Yes, we will definitely knock it out of the park next month! :cheer: -- You could take the scale with you, although when I go on vacation, I can usually make healthy eating choices. It's when I get together with family that I'm vulnerable and I have a problem staying on the diet. You know yourself best. Will you be able to stick to making healthy choices while on vacation or do you need the scale to help you remember? If the scale is not a packing problem, I say take it with you. It couldn't hurt to have it accessible. :goodluck: |

I hope that everyone had a great weekend:) Everyone is doing so great staying on plan.
I'm happy to report that my son came home from the hospital today. They said that he had a virus along with the ulcers in the mouth (so weird). He is doing so much better, but has to follow up with primary care physician in 3 days. I did manage to stay on plan, which amazes me. I want to thank Delphi, Magistra17, IDream and Jacqui for the kind words during my terrible ordeal with my son. I felt hopeless for a minute that they wouldn't figure out a treatment plan for him, but they did and your kind words help me to remain positive and hopeful:) Tomorrow is weigh in day, can't wait to see what the scale looks like. Have a great night. Will check in tomorrow. |
Lovemylife, I'm SO happy you son is home and on the mend!
Sandye, That number looks great on you! :trampo: Leah, CONGRATS on making GOAL!!! :carrot: :broc: :cb: I'm trying to meet you in Onederland! I don't know if I'll be making it tomorrow though. Rough night tonight, late night stress snacking. I know better, and while I did stay away from foods not allowed on my plan, my body will disapprove anyway, I'm sure! Verywell, yay on the 2-lb drop! :dancer: VickieLou, you're doing great! Keep it up! :cp: Magistra, there's still time to make goal! Keep going! :cheer: Ashley, great job on the exercise! Your goal is right around the corner! You can do it! :flow2: Delphi, woohoo on the whoosh! :yay: BerryBB, wow, you're still on fire! :flame: SeeMyFeet, aw, I feel for you! I'm glad you have a new doc and you're on the right meds now. Keep hope! My RA (and the depression that went with it) was so terrible at first, but eventually it eased up and became quite bearable even without meds. I am hoping the same for you! SW: 206.5 GW: 200 CW: 202 6/1: (203) 206.5 6/2: (202.5) 206 6/3: (202) 205.5 6/4: (201) 204.5 6/5: 204.5 6/6: 205.5 Carb Day 6/7: 206 6/8: 206.5 6/9: 205.5 6/10: 206.5 6/11: 205.5 6/12: 204.5 6/13: 204.5 Carb Day 6/14: 204.5 6.15: 205 6/16: 203.5 6/17: 202 6/18: 201.5 6/19: 201 6/20: 201 Carb Day 6/21: 202 |
lovemylife001 ~ I'm thankful you and your son are now home and he is okay. What a stressful time for you guys. Sending good vibes your way for the scale.
verywell ~ :carrot: That is indeed the right direction. Great job. Keep up the amazing work. VickieLou ~ You are getting so close on Onederland. You're almost there. Keep digging and you will be there before you know it. magistra17 ~ You know, the scale is always up for me if I eat later in the evening, especially if there is even a modest amount of sodium in what I consume. Hopefully, its just a little retention and you will see a drop today. Hope you guys had fun at dinner. Oh and thanks for the advice. I'm still on the fence. I think I could go either way and still do fine. Just curiosity for the most part really. I just want to know my daily weights I guess  Aclai4067 ~ Ah, the burden of exercise. I still go through that. I know it will get easier on my joints and lungs eventually but now it is hard to get through. You did do those 2 miles. You did it and thats awesome. Regardless, of how your body feels, it secretly is thanking you for it. Eventually, it will get easier and we know that. Just keep pushing yourself gradually and it will get better. It might help to look at a marathon training schedule just to get an idea of how to increase and decrease a walking regimen. In the beginning you do like 2 miles Monday, Wednesday, Friday and then push yourself on Saturday or Sunday to 3 miles and then rinse and repeat for 2 week intervals and then gradually increase. At the end of the day though, listen to your body and do what works best for you. ____________ Well Happy Monday chicks. Whew, yesterday was quite busy but we managed to get alot done for vacation. All suitcases are for the most part packed and the car and supplies are ready to rollout. I was hoping to see movement on the scale this morning but we had such a long day yesterday we ended up eating late and I believe I am retaining a bit as the scale was up a little. Oh well, I will just be more diligent about it today. Sure hope you guys get your week off to a great start and have a wonderful day. Jacqui You'll make it soon enough. Sorry to hear about your rough night. Today is a new day and a fresh start. Slips are only mistakes if you make them so.
Lovemylife Glad to hear about your son! And well done for staying on track through such a difficult time. Delphi Hope you have fun on your vacation! _____________________________ I was hoping that with starting this new job I'd be losing a lot more. But maybe all this extra movement and exercise has put it in a bit of shock. I'm hoping that having today and tomorrow off will help me recover. Also I've been eating later at night when I get home because I don't have much time during the day. I wish I could eat a bigger meal during my breaks and save my snacks for after but then I just feel ready for a nap afterwards. Oh well, I'll get it figured out. Hopefully I'm in for a whoosh soon. I have to be diligent about eating healthy and drinking my water today! VickieLou Way to go! :flow2: verywell Lookin' good! :woohoo: lovemylife What a relief! Leah, thanks! I rarely eat late at night, but yesterday, I was just off the whole day. Today was better, so hopefully the scale will reflect it! :D I hope you get your work eating schedule figured out in a way that will work for you! And with how much exercise you are doing while at work, I wouldn't be surprised if you are holding water to repair your muscles!
Magistra, if my weight is the same or higher tomorrow, it will be because I stayed really busy today and need to drink more water. Let's drink up! Delphi, glad you're all ready for vacation! Good Evening Everyone:) Hope you had a great Monday!
Well this morning the scale didn't move for me either way despite me staying on plan. However, I'm glad that it didn't go up lol. Thanks to everyone for wishing my son a speedy recovery. He's doing a lot better today and picked up his last two prescriptions this evening. I'm just glad that is behind us and we can start focusing on his recovery. Now, I have to really get myself in gear. I didn't exercise much last week. Time to get back on track and up my water intake. I'm so close to my monthly goal. I just need a little over a pound to reach my goal. This week I'm going to do it. Congrats to all who have reached or exceeded their goal, you should be really proud. You're definitely an inspiration to everyone. Have a great night everyone and will check in tomorrow morning! |
Last night our kitty unexpectedly passed away from a rare UTI complication. He only just turned 1 this past May. I'm completely heartbroken.

Darius, long time no see! And thank you! |
I feel like I'm reaching the weight loss slow down that generally happens to me once I start my 2nd month of my journey. At this point the pounds start to go more slow and steady than big drops.
I've already been thinking about my July goal and I think what I really want (under 190) is too ambitious. I feel like if I could squeeze another pound or two out of Jun then it might seem more reasonable. I think I might have to set a reasonable goal with a second "hope-for" goal.
