I got a discouraging scale number when I'm pretty sure I did just fine yesterday. But I'm feeling bloated and stiff, so I'll call it water weight and move on.
June goal: lose 1.35 kgs (3 lbs) 1: 85.35 .... 8: 85.75 9: 85.5 10: 85.05 11: 85.05 12: 84.6 13: 84.65 14: 84.85 15: 85.9 |

I was going to say I don't know what's going on with my body and dropping so much weight so fast, but then I got my period today... I ALWAYS lose the majority of my weight post ovulation... but since I don't even know if I ovulate regularly any more AND I missed last month's period (I'm 45), I didn't know what was going on. NOW I know.
What's even WEIRDER - I dropped another 1.2 pounds overnight. THIS weight I think was water weight that my muscles were holding from over exertion/stiff muscles from the weekend. So, I'm .2 from meeting my "new" goal. HOWEVER, if my pattern follows, the majority of the rest of the month "IF" I will ovulate, I should see little to no weight loss and then a gain at the end of the month as I hit ovulation. LET'S SEE! Anyway, it's been very good for my mood and motivation to have such a great start to this weight loss reboot. |

I didn't get the chance to check in over the weekend, as it was pretty busy. I don't have time to do personals for everyone, but I have enjoyed reading all the posts from over the weekend :) I went out to eat last night and had a very high sodium dinner, so while I didn't lose I'm glad it was only a very small gain. My goal for this month was to lose 10 pounds, which I'm now realizing was a bit unrealistic to ask of my body. I did do that a year ago, but I was restricting my food intake more than I think I should have. This time I'm losing it much slower, but I'm hoping that the slower weight loss will be more sustainable, as I'm not rushing into extreme lifestyle changes that I can't sustain for long periods of time. So, with all of that, I think I'm going to change my goal for the month to 5 pounds. I am right on track to meet that, and I think that, for my physical and mental well being, that goal is much healthier for me. |

magistra17 ~ I know exactly how you feel. Any downward trend the scale shows me, the happier I am. Glad to see the snacking didn't cause you any trouble in that respect. Kudos.
GordonGirl16 ~ That is sound logic. When we have less to lose, its just a lot more difficult to make our bodies let go. So I think that 5 is a very reasonable goal. Turtle11 ~ :woohoo: on that drop. boatingmommy ~ That sounds like a great weekend. Wish I could get my boyfriend on the water. Funniest thing as he grew up in CT on the coast and for the life of him, he just will not go out into the water in anything smaller than a cruise ship. Beats the heck out of me. I grew up on the water and on the boat every weekend, so its just a shame. I've been pushing for a boat for 2 years now. I'm gonna have me one and he can sit his butt right here while I take that bad boy out.. In any case, great job on making great choices. Your body will thank you. lovemylife001 ~ :bravo: That is awesome. Congrats on that loss. Oh my, you are definitely on your way to goal. You are doing an amazing job with self-control and making great choices. Kudos. berryblondeboys ~ That is great. :carrot: I sure hope you continue to see that trend. It looks like whatever you are doing is working for you. Sandye where are thou? :D ___________________ So, yesterday was a big day for us in this house. Other families gather round for the Superbowl and yesterday was our "Superbowl" for gaming, E3. Man it was an amazing day. Information overload to say the least. Just an FYI if anyone was looking into jumping to the next generation of game consoles for the kids for Christmas, the Xbox One is the one to choose as they just announced backwards compatibility with the old system. So any games that you already have will work on the new system which isn't offered by any of the other game console manufactures. (Best bang for your buck.) Okay, so on to more pressing matters, TOM.   I feel like I've been run over by a mack truck who then put the truck into reverse and ran over me again while laughing hysterically. Urgh, this one is hitting me hard. BUT thankful its upon me before vacation and not on vacation. The scale is doing the TOM thing, kind of like wheel of fortune, just never know wheres it gonna land. GordonGirl16- That was very wise to change your goal to something you felt was obtainable. Great job and Good Luck Delphi- Thank you for the kind words, you are always so encouraging. TOM will be showing up for me any day now, trying to get all the exercise in before that happens lol BerryBlondeBoys- Awesome on your weight loss, you are doing terriffic So this morning I woke up and went to the HS track. I use to go all the time before I got my dog. Now that my dog has died, I'm back at the track. It's been 13 years since I had been there. I saw so many new faces and some old ones too. It was really inspiring to see so many people of all ages running and walking. I just wanted to do something different to switch up my workouts, but I really enjoyed it and got some sun to. I will definitely be going back. Have a great day everyone and I'll try to check in later:) |

Friday I woke up with that killer headache, took some Motrin. Field trip went okay, other than it being HOT as all get out, Friday night was Girls' Night and while I didn't go crazy with the food (I barely had anything), I did have two small cups of sangria. Woke up Saturday to a gain, chalked it up to the Motrin and the alcohol. Worked out, hit Panera with a friend (no worries, ate like a champ, she's my weight loss buddy :D ), and then my body decided that it wanted to be miserable. I felt like I had a fever. Aches, pains, sore muscles...more Motrin. Sunday, woke up to another gain but felt a little better. Spent the day being lazy and then went out to see some waterfalls here. Walking around and 'hiking' around the rocks sent my knee into a tizzy and I hobbled the rest of the way. :( I had been in a funk since Thursday when I hit 50 lbs (who knew that kind of milestone would be depressing?!) and when dinner time came around, I wanted Italian in a big way. We hit Buca and while I didn't go nuts, I did enough damage to go way over calories. Hello Monday gain. Sigh...I stuck to workouts and eating right and thankfully the scale was kind today. I just need to get my water in today and try to avoid the Motrin today (which might be hard--Tony made me do squats and lunges grrr). Anyway, congratulations :cp::dancer::cheer2::cheer3::congrat: to everyone who had losses this week!! I am so proud of each and every one of you!! I thought for sure I'd have a big water weight gain today. I didn't drink much water yesterday and also had an extremely high sodium meal. I woke up this morning so dehydrated. The woosh is on
Hey ladies, checking in. I was really concerned at the start of the month that I was being overly ambitious. My last several attempts at weight loss had started really slow. So I'm pretty pumped to have just 1.6 left to go with a week and a half left in the month. Ate at Cheesecake Factory with my mom and sister tonight, but feel like I kept it reasonable. I'm prepared for a small upward fluctuation from it, but I think I should be able to move past it pretty quickly.

Hi all!
Just popping in quickly before my day gets too crazy. I had a wonderful mini-vaca with family and friends. Saw my beautiful and incredibly intelligent goddaughter graduate from high school. And then proceeded to completely destroy my diet plans by eating all that yummy goodness at her party! :yikes: I knew I was going to go over my calories but oh my gosh...I got crazy! Maybe is wasn't completely my fault. lol. Can I blame it on TOM that showed up five days early?? That was brutal and the last thing I needed on vacation! Anyway, finally weighed in yesterday. I'm only up .5 lb. Dare I get excited that when TOM is over and the bloat goes away, I might see a 2-3 lb loss? I seriously need a whoosh asap! Hope everyone is having a good week. I see a few folks getting close to hitting your June goals. Congrats to you! Oh and Delphi, I feel your pain! TOM is kicking my booty this month. Hang in there. |
Good Morning Everyone. I hope everyone is doing well:)
Just stopping by for a quick check in. My teenage son has been in the hospital since yesterday, so I was there all yesterday and will be going back in an hour or so. I'm a stress eater so I wanted to stop by the site to help me deal with the stress of everything that's going on with him. I will try to check in tomorrow. Have a great day everyone! |
dangerouscurves76 ~ :congrat: to your goddaughter for graduation. So exciting. Glad to see there wasn't much of a gain from the high calories but I'm with you on seeing that whoosh after TOM. :crossed:
Aclai4067 ~ You have done an amazing job. You have every reason to be proud. You have made excellent progress this month and its inspiring. Please keep up the great work as its encouraging for folks like me to see such great strides taken. LovelyLeah ~ :carrot: Congrats on the new job. I know its stressful the clothes thing especially when starting a new job. Been there before. I suppose the bright side, is that clothes are getting big and that is AWESOME. When those pay checks start flowing in and the weight continues to trend down, you can reward yourself with some shopping..eh? Sandye ~ I feel your pain. I have been there and it happens though it doesn't make us feel any better. Hope the day got better for you guys. I think the older I get the harder it is for me to keep such a tight control on emotion when it comes to my boys. Sometimes, I slip. Thus is human nature I suppose. We are inherently flawed. Nothing a few hugs and kind words can't mend though. Thanks for the kick in the butt. You know I need them. We all need tough love from time to time. I sure hope the end of the week is kinder to you as it looks like you have had a rough go of it. Jacqui ~ Oooooo you are getting sooo close. Hopefully we will see you hit Onederland this month? That would be awesome. :carrot: _____________ Alright, for me, TOM is still lurking about but I think his initial invasion seems to be calming. The scale is back down to my pre-TOM weight, so I'm assuming since TOM is still about that I can expect a loss when he finally packs his bags. In any case, gotta run. You folks have a wonderful day and HAVE FUN! WooHoo! I weighed in this morning at 79.2kg!!
My June goal was to get to 79.9kg! Yaye! :) |
Good morning ladies!!! It's almost FRIDAY!!! :carrot: Not sure why I'm so excited...it just means that I have less time to get ready for my trip! LOL
Magistra ~ You're getting it done!! Way to go! GardenerJoy ~ Nice loss girlie!! Keep up the great work!! :) LovelyLeah ~ Good luck on your first day!! You'll do great! And even if it is causing you some stress, WTG on the loose pants!!! :) Ashley ~ Congratulations on getting so far already!! You got this!! Keli ~ I knew that blip on the scale yesterday would right itself fast! Yay!! :) DangerousCurves ~ Aww, the graduation must have been so bittersweet! Big milestones like that always are. Yes, totally blame TOM. He makes sane women go bananas and crave things that they shouldn't. It's great that you're only up .5!! I bet you'll get that whoosh soon! lovemylife ~ I hope your son is okay!! I am so sorry that he isn't well. Delphi ~ girl you know it! The older I get the less patience I have for daily stuff that I should already have a handle on. I am just a bundle of emotions as it is and I let it get the better of me. I apologized to the boys and the day got better, but I just hate that it was bad to begin with. Anyway...today is a new day and it's off to a much better start! Hopefully TOM packs his bags soon and takes a few extra pounds with him!!! I think I will wait until tomorrow, and if it sticks I will make a new goal for the rest of the month. :) I am going to go get my hair cut today, something I rarely do. I still have no idea what it is I want done. I think I should probably make some sort of a decision huh? Oh, I had a NSV this week! I have some dresses in my closet from the last time I tried to lose weight and they have been far too small for me--size 16s. I tried them on a few weeks ago and couldn't zip them up, no way, no how. I tried them on yesterday and I was able to zip them up!! So it looks like Tony is whipping me into shape even if the scale is being slow to join the party! Still, I probably won't wear these dresses. I bought them for a winter wedding and since my sister's wedding is in July, I want something more summery. Ugh...I don't like shopping for dresses...lol. Anyone have any recommendations on where to look? I seriously know nothing about stores and fashion--I'm a jeans and tee shirt kinda gal. Even when I was skinny I didn't like setting foot in a mall. Someone needs to take my girl card away I guess. ;) Well, off to get some :coffee: and a shower! Have a fantastic day ladies and don't forget to DRINK YOUR WATER!! :D |
Work will be a huge learning curve as far as eating goes. Yesterday I ate less than 700 calories and barely drank any water. I packed myself a healthy lunch but I was expecting a short training shift for my first day, not 10.5 hours. And our breaks aren't official 15 min or 30 min because we're so short staffed. So it's take what you can get, when you can get it. Hopefully once we get some more people in we can start having enough people to cover breaks. But otherwise work went great. I just know that I need to pack more snack items that are quick and easy. At least with being so busy I don't have time to feel hungry but it's really unhealthy to eat that low and I don't want to do that. I think I might look into making my own trail mix. Nut are a good, quick source of fuel and they'll bump my calories into a healthy range if I'm not able to get a proper meal in. And I need to prepare better in the morning with my breakfasts.

I love that. I have some things in my closet that are too small but they are pretty things so I don't want to return them. I hope they fit me one day. If you are fitting into a size 16 you have a lot of choices for shopping. You could try a big department store like Macy's or Nordstroms, they would have a pretty big selection of dresses. Lately I've been doing a lot of online shopping. It's a nice way to be able to look at fashions at my convenience. Sometimes stores have free shipping and easy returns. Good luck finding a dress! Delphi I hope you have a wonderful day too! lovemylife I do hope your son is going to be okay. I'm sending some prayers your way. dangerouscurves A party! So lovely! I always eat at parties too. Magistra, woohoo on the downward trend! :high:
Leah, SO CLOSE! You are going to hit Onederland anytime now! :woohoo: I'm glad you are on top of the eating situation that you need to figure out for your workday. I really like the idea of a trail mix, because you are so right about the nuts. I'm glad you are pleased with the job itself though! :dancer: Sandye, CONGRATS on making GOAL! :carrot: :broc: :cb: And yay on the NSV!!! Good Morning Everyone. Just a quick check in before I go to the hospital to see my son and head to work.
Hope everyone is doing great! It's TGIF, yay lol My son is still in the hospital and some virus that they have never seen before. When I went to the hospital yesterday around 10 am, he hadn't even seen a doctor yet for the morning. I have had to micro manage every aspect about his care since he's been in the hospital. It's just so discouraging. I almost pulled him out of that hospital yesterday. I told them if they didn't find his doctor and get me a plan as to how they were planning to handle his situation, I was taking him out. Now with a virus, I do understand that you really can't treat that, it pretty much has to run it's course. But with him having so many other symptom's along with this virus, such as mouth ulcers, swollen glands and a fever that just won't go away, that's what I expect them to treat. They have been keeping his fever under control, but he hasn't eaten since Tuesday. The ulcers in his mouth is making that impossible. So I asked about that and the doctor said, oh let me check and see why we don't have him on a steroid for that and to get some of the swelling down. I'm thinking you should have done that yesterday. So yesterday, when I stepped out for a bit, I went and bought him some ensure, just so he can get some nutrients in his body. I just don't understand why they didn't think of that. He just can't continue to drink water and broth. I'm just so frustrated with this situation. He will likely be there through the weekend. I have however been staying on plan and have not turned to stress eating. I want to thank everyone that wished my son well wishes, I really appreciate the support. Everyone have a great weekend and remember Saturday and Sunday are just regular days and we can stick to plan:) |
Good morning and TGIF!!!
LovelyLeah ~ Glad to hear your first day went well--10.5 hours on the first day though? Wow!! I think trail mix is a great idea!! I loved your note next to yesterday's weigh in! GIMME THAT ONEDERLAND!! I feel ya!! :) Magistra ~ Thanks for the recommendations! My mom said she will go shopping with me...she hates shopping too so I'm not sure how it will go. JacquiD ~ Thanks! :) I decided go from hair that was somewhere near the middle of my shoulder blades with blended, super long layers (that almost didn't look like layers) to shoulder length hair with shorter, choppier, thinned(because I have wild woman hair) layers. I went in with an inspiration pic and asked her to cut it a little longer. She did a fantastic job. I almost never get hair cuts and when I do it's usually Super Cuts or something and hubs is always bugging me to find a stylist who can 'get to know' my hair. I hate to say it...but he was right. I went in without straightening my hair and let my wild locks fly. LOL I figured if I was going to start a relationship with a hair stylist that I should enter into it honestly. Anyway, I left quite happy, now I just need to see if I can make it look as good as she did! ;) Lovemylife ~ I am so sorry that your son is still not feeling well. I would be livid if my child weren't being taken care of to the best of their ability, so I don't envy you there at all. How old is he? Could he have hand foot and mouth? That's the only virus I know of that causes mouth ulcers. My boys had it when they were little and I swabbed their mouth with a mixture of Tylenol, maalox and benedryl (aka Magic Mouthwash) it helped with the pain and swelling. I hope they figure out what it is that he has and that they get him treated and well asap!! Hang in there! You're doing a fantastic job taking care of him, don't forget to take care of you. Bravo on not stress eating!! I don't know if I could do that. ___________________________ June 1: 213 June 2: 212.6 June 3: 212.6 June 4: 211.6 June 5: 211.4 June 6: 210.6 June 7: 210.4 June 8: 209.8 June 9: 209.6 June 10: 209.6 June 11: 209 -- OMGosh...50 lbs GONE! I would love to shoot for 2, but I'm not sure I can manage that. With being in the car for 8-10 hours for three days next week, I might end up stalling. So yeah, 1.5 lbs. If I lose more, it'll be a bonus! :D We're supposed to go to the park with our homeschool group today, but it's raining out so I don't know what our plans will end up being. I should really start packing or at least clean out the van...blech! I don't wanna. Well, I guess I should probably go grab some :coffee: and a shower in case alternate plans are made. Have a fantastic day everyone and don't forget to DRINK YOUR WATER!!! |
lovemylife, you tell them, Momma! I don't blame you for micro-managing! I know hospitals are busy and nurses and doctors are often overworked, but when it's your child, none of that matters. You expect everyone's best effort and that's what you should get! I don't know you or your son but God does, so I have added him (and you) to my prayers. I hope you don't mind! You're doing a great job staying positive and on plan through all this! Continue to keep us updated when you get a chance!
Sandye, ooo, that sounds pretty! Good for you on finding a stylist you like! I need to do the same. Like you, I rarely get my hair cut, and the thing is, it grows like a weed! I have straight, long (mid back), blonde hair, no layers at present. Every year or two, I go in and get it cut up to the top of my shoulders, sometimes with layers and long bangs. But by the time I go in, there's usually been a switch-over of staff, lol! :D |
