Thanks all! Saturday went well. It was definitely a learning experience. It was such a big race and it was hard to know where to stand, so I got caught up in a lot of walkers for the first half mile probably. Managed to run the whole thing, SLOWLY, but I did it and had fun! I was told it was a flat course so I was mentally unprepared for the hill at the last mile LOL Oh well!
Now I'm just trying to figure out how to spend my next two weeks to speed my time up a bit. Next 5K is May 2nd. Big hike coming up this weekend, too, so I need to do some cross training this week to prep for that. Goals this month are: -Jog a 5K! Goal met 4/13! First race is on the 18th. -500 gym/running minutes 4/5: Jog, 20/500 4/6: Jog, 55/500 4/8: Jog, 90/500 4/9: strength and cardio, 130/500 4/11: Jog, 168/500 4/13: Jog, 213/500 - ran my first 5K!!! 4/14: Strength and cardio, 248/500 - almost halfway 4/15: Jog, 293/500 4/18: 5K!, 329/500 |
