Jill- I agree, maybe try maintenance calories for awhile or switch up your plans to shock your body. Every time i get to the 220s i struggle, I think I have a natural set point there or something. My body just LOOOOVES it there. I usually end up having to change up my food and workouts to break through it.
JB1975, you're on a stall and I've been there for weeks and weeks.
I have a theory but I would like y'all's opinions. If we think back to a time in our life when we had a specific setpoint - and how long we were at any specific setpoint - they say our cells have memories....
Do you think that these setpoints that are so darned annoying are our bodies going back to the point in time and setting there for a great while?
I can remember being the weight I am now and it was many years ago, but I sat there for a few years.
Is this just our body trying to fix our internal computer and take us back to that point in our lives? I wonder. So Mrs. Snark and others who've made your goal - what is a tweak we can do to reset our computer?
I'm still hanging around but taking a break from my love (/hate) affair with the scales. I think I'll have hubby take them to his office so I won't be tempted to weigh!
I have changed my workout, that's when I stalled. I have tweaked my food, some and with no results. Going to try a couple of more things and see what happens. I am glad that my weight is still hovering in about a 5 pound range and not going up a significant amount. And this would be all well and good if I was on a maintenance diet, but I'm not. I am still working out and eating to lose so I'm just really upset about it.
I am following the WW plan and I have not been eating ANY of my "weekly cheat points" or my "activity point", sorry I don't know their technical names for those. I had forgotten about this, until my sister reminded me, but the last time I was on WW I did this same thing. When I took advantage of some of those points I started moving again. I may try that and see what happens.
TOM will arrive most any time so that's never good! The monthly demon isn't supposed to be here until Tuesday but who knows! Until about 2-3 years ago I could set a watch by it....except for about a 6 month period in my late teens when I stopped ovulating all together, ovulated once and got pregnant, and as a result learned I was pregnant at almost 5 months along! But, now it's awful, I hate just waiting for him to show up. Oh the joys of approaching the big 4-0!
