Ugh, gardenerjoy, I'm sorry you're been battling ITB syndrome as well. It's been since July for me, and it's been so frustrating. I only started the PT about 5-6 weeks ago, and am hopeful this will be the fix. If not, my next stop is going to be dry needling, which sounds scary to me but which I've heard can really help. Do you have it in just one leg, or both? Let me know if you want any specific info on what the PT has been doing and has had me doing, if you think it might help you at all.

Thanks, chickadee32! I have the IT Band problem on both legs. The only thing it keeps me from doing is running. So, I don't run. Now that I'm over 50 and more protective of my knees, that doesn't seem as huge of a sacrifice as it once did.
