Catching up with my posting my progress this morning! Two Turkey dinners on the thanksgiving weekend and the associated celebration have bumped me back up to the 150's, but I'm feeling good about it because 6 months ago, I would have done twice as much "damage" and would have been slow to get back on plan. Thanks everyone for the encouragement here, it is a really big part of staying motivated!

Hi everyone! This weekend I didnt choose my meal wisely. First off Myfamily and I went to a buffet for lunch I did choose healthy dishes and no bread or soda at all but I did have 3 plates yikes! That same night I had 4 beers at a get together and to top it off I had 3 slices of Pizza on Sunday. I felt horrible on Sunday night and was scares to get on the scale on Monday morning, so I decided I would work super hard during my zumba class monday and would weigh myself on tuesday morning. I was actually impressed to see that despite my bad choices I still lost one pound from last thursday.

Hello everyone,
Day 2 of being completely on plan! This past weekend was terrible. I ate so much junk food because it was my Dad's 70th birthday party. And guess what, it shows on the scale. 147.4 lbs yesterday morning + today. Ugh :( I'm gonna take it one pound at a time, what matters is that I've changed my mindset and I was able to eat healthily these past 2 days. I will follow up with exercise as well once I feel ready for it. ---- Turtle11 and Jacqui D - Thanks so much for the kind words and well wishes  Tuscany - Thank you  I see that you're trying to get out of the 140s as well - ugh, I hate them so much!! :tantrum: |

Ouch, TOM is doing a number on me! I'm up another pound today, and that's after walking for hours and sticking to my diet during my town's pumpkin festival yesterday! No fun. Another OP day for me as well! I should start working out again, though. Haven't lifted any weights in almost 2 weeks, I think.
My Mom told me today that I had gained weight. And it wasn't the nice kind of way, you know. We were looking through pictures of this past weekend and I said that my hand looked fat in one of them. My mom just straight up said "that's because you gained weight" with that disgusted look, almost trying to spite me. Gah, that didn't feel good. But it motivated me even more to be healthy. -- Tuscany - Tell me about it... I started out at 142 lbs in April, slowly made my way down to 137 lbs in mid-August and now I'm here, at 146.8 lbs this morning. It's the emotional eating and not being able to get back on plan that gets in the way every. single. time. I'm doing it to myself which is terrible but I am trying. Since we're the same height, too - how many calories do you consume and how often do you work out? I'm always curious about what other girls on here do. Jacqui D - Thanks girl! TOM is always a pain in the boootay but I think water will definitely help flush the excess water out, though that just sounded really weird :D Woodstock - Group whoosh? I'm all in! :) |
Well, I blew my diet out of the water yesterday! I've put back on everything I lost last month. I only hope it temporary and while my body gets over the shock of my indulgence. Hah! Oh well, I'm off to walk to uni and back to submit my assignment (Yay, 2 left this semester :D).
Keep up the good work everyone else :) |
No change for me yet again this morning. I’ll just keep plowing away, since things have to break at some point.

Minneey: You have also been stuck for a while. I hope you get a whoosh soon! 183StGB: You continue to do well with your losses. Woodstock: You’re back in the 140’s…way to go! Sum: You’ll lose again soon. Hoopty: My calories range from 1,200 to 1,400…it varies a bit from day to day, but I rarely go under 1,200 and rarely go over 1,400. As for exercise, I typically average about 90 minutes a day (mostly cardio). That said, I’m 55 years old, which I suspect is a lot older than you. At my age, I need to eat less and exercise more to lose the same amount of weight as someone younger. Rhiko: Good luck getting back on track. |

BEWARE, rare rant ahead: TOM, you son-of-a-gun! I have gained another pound! At this rate, in a couple of days, I'll weigh 190 again! :tantrum: The fact that I am being so good during our town's pumpkin festival makes it doubly unfair. Yes, I plan to load up on pumpkin treats on Saturday, my cheat day, but until then, I have been patiently sticking to plan, and that's while everyone around me is feeding their faces with heavenly pumpkin delights and devilish concession stand foods. Why this week, TOM? Why are you testing my patience this week? It turned cold yesterday, so I did make crockpot chili, and I ate two big bowls for lunch and dinner in an effort to stay warm, so it's possible the beans in it are causing me to hold additional water. But I also drank plenty of water yesterday, as well as two cups of green tea. Apparently that didn't help. I have gained 3.5 lbs in just 5 days! All I have to say is I had better have a BIG whoosh at the end of this torture! Not a baby whoosh :bb:, not a mama whoosh , but a BIG DADDY whoosh :wizard:!!! Rant over. Lol! :D

Good Morning all!! I see that it is slow going for many while others are doing fantastic! I just wanted to stop by and say that I have found that this site and you ladies are one of the main things that I need to stick to my diet. I have been super busy this week so I have not visited for several days. As a result I have eaten VERY badly!! I still exercised but its no where near where I was the last few weeks. I am dreading my weigh in tomorrow and will probably be up a few pounds. But I am back to it! I will visit daily again and I will get over this slump!! Thanks for listening;)

The late night mexican obviously isn't helping. Although I did have a chicken taco salad without the fried bowl and without sour cream. Its the chips and salsa that get me everytime. Does anyone ever refuse the free chips and salsa? I'm thinking about it for next time. And now I have lunch at Max & Ermas. I'll be chugging my lemon water all day and night. I want to be back in the 150s!!!!!

Yay! A 76! I assume I should credit all the good things I've done the last few days and not the rare glass of wine I had last night.
SW: 77.35kgs CW: 76.9 (-0.35) GW: 76 Rhiko: drink lots of water! I also recommend taking a look at why that happened and what you could do differently next time. Besides helping next time, that kind of evaluation helps me right now because it reminds me why I'm doing this and why I want to keep doing it. Turtle11: We have refused the chips and salsa. I think others must do it as well, because some restaurants ask before bringing it now. Another trick that works for me is to say, "I'll have three chips and that's it." That works especially well if I put the three on the little plate and then push the basket far away on the table. Woodstock: I love your observation that it feels liberating now, even though it didn't at the time. Just noticing that will make a difference, I think, in your ability to feel it in the moment. |

You WILL get there, keep the Faith. It's trying time for me too, but I know that I'm eating better than I have most of my adult life, and some weeks can be up and others down, but the trend, even if it's slowly is "DOWN and to the right" which is what we need as dieters. (That would be tragic in the stock market of course! ) At least you still have your TOM, which could be some of the water weight you are experiencing. As I told you before, I don't even getta blame my TOM, I'm in menapause now, I think, because my Aunt Flo hasn't been seen at my house in well over a year. You'll get there, and I'm here right beside you and if you didn't live several hours drive away, I'd switch MY cheat day to Saturday just so I could share your special day with you at the pumpkin festival. :hug:MrsKevin |
Finally a move away from 142. Not exhaling yet in case it makes a nightmare return. Motivation to stay on plan this weekend is fear of returning to ghastly 142. Will celebrate more fully on Monday if I've seen the back of it.

I knew she'd show up :D Joy - I do like the chips, and I hate to deny anything regarding food, it makes me resent losing weight. I think I'll try your 3 chip rule, then push them to the other side of the table. Jacqui - Stay Strong  It'll come off in a whoosh very soon. Did you add a new workout in? Sometimes you can retain water that way. Minneey - yeah no more 141 :) Rhiko - Dominos can be a killer. I actually have a list of non food related rewards. I'm trying not to associate food with anything other than fuel. (Its not totally working, but I'm trying) healthytobe - Welcome !! Southern - its probably water, drink a ton today. I like adding lemon and lime sometimes. Sum - You are unbelievable this month!!! Hoopty - Family can be the hardest sometimes with weight. They feel like they can be more "honest" because they are family. Do you lift heavy weights? I'm thinking about starting. woodstock - Sounds very liberating. I do have a "control" problem, and feeling like I am in control of what I eat is important to me. |
Welcome, healthytobe! You're doing it perfectly.

Hi Healthytobe! :welcome: Good to have you! :)
Yay Joy!! I'm so happy for you! :yay: You've worked hard and waited patiently for that 76! Great job! Love the new low! :carrot: Tuscany, woohoo! fantastic on the 2 lb drop! :dancer: Amanda, I'm with you. I never change my tickers to reflect up because unless I plan to quit (and I don't!) I know it's going to go back down where it should be, minus the water weight! Turtle, glad to see you dropped back down! :cp: And I'm just walking. I've gone from walking a path to walking around town and walking to the Leslie Sansone videos, but still, it's just walking, so I don't think that's the reason. It's probably just a combination of TOM and the sodium in chili beans over the last few days. 183, hopefully that maintenance is just for today and then you'll be on the move down again! :crossed: Woodstock, lol! I'm standing by! Good for you resisting temptation! :woohoo: MrsKevin, you're so sweet! Thank you! Minneey, yay! 141! Now run away quick! :running: (Other way, lol! >>>) Rhiko, good job! Keep it going! :cheer: Sum, you go, girl! :cb: So, I'm down half a lb today. I'll take it. I hope it continues over next week, but tomorrow is cheat day and as reluctant as I am now to go through with it, the pumpkin festival is here only once a year, and I've waited patiently all week for this cheat day, so I'm using it. I probably just won't go as crazy as I had hoped to. I'll have to pick and choose my absolute favorite pumpkin treats to indulge in! :T SW: 189 GW: 183 CW: 188 Week 11: High-188.5, Low-185 10/12: 185 Cheat Day 10/13: 185.5 10/14: 186 10/15: 186.5 TOM 10/16: 187.5 10/17: 188.5 10/18: 188 |
No change today, but food and exercise were on point yesterday so I'll keep plugging. Low key weekend is planned as well which makes fewer high risk food situations!
