Campana and Ook Ook! Way to go on progress so far... Halloween is a great day to set yourself a target for...! Sure there is a spooky analogy there but can't think of anything witty to say! :-)
Tuscany - good luck on your trip! See you when your back.., hopefully you'll get a nice surprise on those scales...!!! Rhiko - that sounds like a brownie disaster! So hard not to eat home baked treats! Woodstock - my fellow weekender! I wasnt too pleased with my will power this weekend ! Here's hoping for a good week ahead and lots of good workouts... Did a 10K tonight too and my legs felt like lead the whole route. Ouch! Im back down today which is good but had a feeling yesterday's roast lunch made me a bit heavy yesterday... So TOM should be here tomorrow or the next day, so I probably won't see a whoosh until a few days after that has started.

Um, I'm thinking my goal of six pounds for October was a bit too lofty seeing as I'm 8 days in and technically I should be down 1.5 pounds by now. Oh well. Some days I feel like stopping because it just takes so much work, but I've done this before and I know how to do it. I just have to stay focused.
I haven't been able to exercise very much and that really stinks. I used to be able to work out every single day before I had my daughter and I loved it! Now, when 8:00 rolls around and she's in bed, I just collapse. I do have a rec center at work, though, so I should really start taking advantage of it over lunch. That's my own lazy fault for not doing that. I used to go a lot over the summer, but then I stopped. 10/1: 200.4 (2440 calories) 10/2: 202.8 (1620) 10/3: 200.2 (1515) 10/4: 199.8 10/5: 200.2 10/6: 202.2 10/7: 201.6 10/8: 200.8 183, great job! :carrot: cincorn, you're doing so great! Probably because of hormones, I am up to 190 this morning. I was hoping the 190's were gone for good, but apparently not. I haven't been off plan so that's not it. I'm going to focus on drinking green tea and water today and see if that helps any. I had 3 glasses of water in a row last night and wasn't running to the bathroom so obviously my body's holding onto it.
BFR, good job on the 2 lbs down! :carrot: Emme, hang in there! I was on plan all last month and yet it took me to day 18 to finally stop going around in circles between 195 and 197. By the end of the month, however, I dropped to 189. :dust: Joy, :cp: Onward to goal! Woodstock, way to go! :cb: Turtle, wishing a nice whoosh for you! :wizard: Cincorn, there are still lots of days left! You can do it! :cheer: 183, you are just doing great! :broc: Minneey, congrats on the big drop back down! :flow2: Campana, yay on the 2 lb loss! :dancer: Rated, looking good! |
Day eight of insanity... cant feel my legs but it seems to be working. Dreading my seven am 'Pure cardio' workout tomorrow morning. Then will have to navigate a 'team lunch' at work - we're ordering pizza. Taking soup with me. Who will win? Soup or pizza...

I'm getting anxious about Thursday's weigh in day. I changed it up a bit this week and did my own version of the Wendie Plan--not sure it that was a good move. Thursday's number should be a good indicator. On the up side of things, I FINALLY went out for a run today. I haven't been out for a solid two weeks. Today I ran my longest run yet (5.12 miles!). There were brief stops along the way to catch my breath and for water. But overall I am super happy with getting outside and taking charge of my exercise. I tend to overcompensate with food on days I work out--so I;m trying really hard to fight the urge to have a bowl of cereal right now.
Hope everyone's week is off to a good start!! Thanks for the check in...it always helps. |

up .1 lb after a Long run again last night (and eating on plan) and i am starting to see this pattern of not losing after my long runs. I think I've seen chicks posting about this phenomenon before, so I am happy to accept it and stick with the plan!

I've realized that I consume food as though I will never see it again. I don't bite food--I shovel it in. I don't chew 15 times and wallow, I just gulp. I don't intentionally eat a meal, I pick and graze and graze and graze. It's nuts! Lately I've found a strategy that has seemed to alter my way of thinking. I keep telling myself you are done with today's calories---but don't worry tomorrow you get a whole new set! This seems to be working as I avoid the kitchen and late night snacks.
Thanks for all the support regarding the big run yesterday. I was definitely feeling the after affects today. But I felt strong and proud and awesome! Crossing my fingers for weigh in tomorrow. Keep working hard everyone! |
I’m back from my business trip. As I feared, I was put in quite a few situations where I had a choice between eating something off plan or eating nothing. A few times, I chose to not eat…but I could only do that so often. Long story short, I gained a half pound, which puts me back to where I started October. I suppose it could have been worse. Hopefully, I will lose it again in the next day or so.

It is likely the Dim Sum lunch I had. I decided to eat an apple half an hour before lunch to control my appetite and I thought it worked quite well as I wasn't starving when we sat down to eat and i only had 5 steamed dumplings. My fitness pal indicated these types of dumplings can be 50 calories, but i suspect now that is an understatement of calories. Or, as you mentioned Tuscany, this could still be exercise -- I have a trainer and we trained my legs last night like I've never done before. Perhaps there is a woosh in my near future! LOL Tuscany - I think you did great to be so conscious of your choices on your business trip. It is so tough in these situations where you have no access to things from your plan. Way to go, Campana, how awesome that you are so close to goal already! |
I'm back down to my low, 186.5! Thanks Whoosh Fairy! :wizard:

Yes it drops back off in the next 2-3 days, but do I really lose or at least maintain every single week? So, tallying the stats, this is the picture I've gotten since the first cheat day in August when I started keeping track: Week 1--High 201.5, Low 200 Week 2--High 200, Low 197 Week 3--High 199, Low 197 Week 4--High 199.5, Low 196 Week 5--High 196.5, Low 195 Week 6--High 197, Low 195 Week 7--High 196.5, Low 191 Week 8--High 191, Low 188.5 Week 9--High 190.5, Low 187 Week 10--(not yet complete) I kind of like this way of looking at my progress. I might have a low at the beginning of a week and a high at the end, but overall, I can see what's going on. The low of each week is always lower than or maintains the low of the previous week, which is good because that shows a steady pace of weight loss. However, the same is not true of the highs. Week 4 and 6 have higher highs than the weeks before them. I guess the message I should take away from that is don't fret the highs. They will work themselves out and lead to lower lows! :D And I still don't understand why my diet works, lol! |
No, I haven't forgotten personals, lol! My last post was just too long!
Turtle, yay! 160's! (Boo 161's!) Now for a drop straight to 159! :crossed: Tuscany, glad you are home safely! And don't worry, I'm sure that extra water weight will drop away soon! Emme, woohoo on the lb down! Minneey, good job on the good eating! :cp: And I hear ya on the wedding weight. My daughter gets married in April and it's a big motivating factor! Stiletto, congrats on the lb down (and the end of TOM, lol)! Suds, great job on that realization about food! Sum, yay on the lb down! :spin: Campana, you're doing great! :cb: Keep up the good work, everyone! |
