I find this thread to be so helpful. For example, in order to meet my goal this month I need to do at least 40 minutes of other exercise each day. This morning, I was up really early for a meeting that required me to drive a long distance. After the meeting and all the driving, I had to run a bunch of errands and then do chores. I then took my walk (I love my walk!), but I REALLY didn't feel like doing anything else. I just wanted to relax. But, I know I have to do those darn 40 minutes or I won't make goal. So, I dragged my little (big?) butt down to my gym and did the blasted 40 minutes...cursing and swearing all the time, mind you...but at least I did it! :)

I walked a mile yesterday and a mile today, so I'm happy about that. I finally went to the walking path in my little town instead of just walking the sidewalks and it was so much easier on my heel. I also discovered in that little park, they've not only put in a playground for kids, which I could see from the road, but they've also put in a separate playground for adults which consists of outside weight machines! I couldn't see it from the road so I didn't know it was there. It's awesome! |
The outdoor adult playground sounds neat! A number of parks have started doing that, although none in my area to date. I hope your heel is back to normal soon, but in the meantime it sounds like you've found a temporary solution in the walking path.

I'm sorry I've been gone awhile from here. I've been picking up so many hours at work before classes start today. The next 3 days I'll be having 13+ hour days between school and work and won't be getting home till around midnight-ish.

Yep, I'm liking the walking path. Maybe I'll be able to meet goal next month using it. I walked a mile today with no problem.
