morning everyone! Seems as if everybody is doing well, congrats to you all! I usually log in here at work (where I am right now as I type) so my posts are short, but it's good to see this is such an active and positive thread :D keep up the good going!!!

amandie 05-09-2013 12:24 PM

Aww, no problem, y'all!!! Thanks. I definitely did not expect this thread to be this awesome. I am seriously glad I decided to start this challenge. I feel more invigorated with you all here!! Okay, time for personals!

:welcome:, Kidlets and Syckgirlsfv! Good luck on your goals for the challenge!!! Kidlets- I went ahead and added your info to the spreadsheet. So happy to have you both with us!

Leaves- Seems you ended up a pound down after all rather than maintaining, whoo-hoo!!

Nathalie- Booo to the scale but hey, you ended up being .2 up instead of .5 so that's something! Whew! I'm sure you're gonna have a fantastic WI come next Thursday. :)

Delphi- Wow, 116 holes dug?! Jeez and I was complaining about digging a couple (5 or 6) small ones for my gladiolus/wild flowers. You're still kicking butt even with TOM. :crossed: for an awesome WI today for you!!! I agree with others, you're SO active and I wish I was like that.

Jessicado- Hi!!! Glad you came here and posted when you had a chance. I know it can be overwhelming at times especially with a baby! Congrats on your lil one. You're doing so great! 34% towards your goal, very niceeee on your NSV with the cheat meal- sounds yummy, btw!! :)

Zoesmom- IDC if douchebag had a change of heart, I would have called him on that BS he did. Since he apologized, he knew he did wrong! Whoo-hoo on your NSV- weighing less than your hubby! I loveeeee that! I have always been heavier or the same as my BFs up until now. Such a good feeling!!! I love that you got the other moms and dads to join in with you on your walk! You are a leader.

Ian- You ARE kicking butt!!!! I forgot to tell you that I really liked your avatar prior to your current one, you look great!!! Keep kickin' arse! (yes, I said that because I know you're British, lol.)

Wolfgirl- I am :crossed: for you on your WI today!!! How did it go?? Aw, a week? Wow, I gotcha though. That is why I decided to go with a single serve blender- so easier to clean out than a regular one though I still gotta figure out how to take the bottom off so I can really clean it under the blade, lol. I got it for 15 bucks from Target. Thank you so much for sharing the smoothie recipe!

Ange82much- How did it go last night? Good, I hope.

Thnknthin1- You are doing awesome!!! I love your avatar as well as your thread with your progress photos- you just look amazing! OMG on the sporadic and slower weight loss- it sucks. On the flip side though, it's a damn nice feeling because close to goal- enuff said, lol. :carrot:

Tibbits2u- Wow, 3lbs?! I wish I could pull that off at my weight, lol. 50% of your weight is just tremendous and in just a year too!! You are an inspiration to me, seriously. Way to go!!!!

Sum38- It happens. Did you eat anything salty recently?? TOM? Stress? Not enough water? Next week will be better. Remember, you had an awesome week last week so maybe it's just rebounding or whatever. Keep at it!

Alinnell- Sorry to hear you're up. Not tracking is what gets me so hopefully the scale will start moving down once you get on top of that. I agree with Zoesmom- you can do well at the steakhouse this Sunday, you just have to basically knuckle down and get what you can within your calorie budget orrrr you could go a bit light Friday and Saturday then have what you want on Sunday? Just a thought. I would hope the steakhouse does offer steamed veggies but there is a bar/grill restaurant near me that DOES NOT offer steamed veggies at all. Needless to say, I'm never going back there again, lol.

100Mother- You're doing great! 1lb down is 1lb gone forever! :) Keep it up!

Kidlets- I added you on the spreadsheet. Check it out! :) I'm not offended at all! I like that approach since it is what I need, lol. I hope you do enjoy that smoothie whenever you try it! Happy you are here with us.

Same goes for you, Syckgirlsfv- glad you're here with us! Good am to you too. Yes, it's very active, sometimes too active for me to try to keep up with personals but I still try anyway, lol. Vegas sounds like an awesome vacation trip to take for the 4th of July. I'm a bit jealous. :D

Whoo-hooo!!!! Super-YAY. :carrot: Welcome to the 160s, Wolfie! (I hope you don't mind me calling you that.) Awesome all around. :carrot:

amandie 05-09-2013 12:38 PM

I lost a lb- down to 164.4 this am (after twosies, of course.) Very happy about that!!!

I have a NSV (made a thread on it) while bra shopping the other day- fitting in size 13 jeans (juniors!!!) I was/still am shocked that I fit in it comfortably. Now, I try avoid buying jeans since I'm still losing but those pants were just too freaking cute to let go. Fortunately, that pair is somewhat thin enough (material-wise) for my sewing machine and needle so I can alter it as I get smaller. I do that a lot with my clothes, mostly shirts and dresses (depending on the style, of course) since it's easier just to take in on the sides. Pants can be tricky if you don't know what you're doing.

Today is gloomy with the weather- rainy and windy. I have a few errands to do today then do my workout before I start dinner. I am getting better with the 30 Day Shred so far, yay! Thanks all for the encouragement that it will get better, I appreciate that! Have a great day, y'all!!!

Delphi 05-09-2013 01:05 PM

Holy smokes it sure is busy around here on weigh in days! Awesome!

amandie ~ Thank you for all the good vibes. It must of worked. You still keeping with your workouts today? Oh and :congrat: on the loss and the NSV! Woman of steel and perseverance.

Wolfgirl ~ Great job on the loss! :carrot:

Syckgirlsfv ~ Most definitely. It is very positive around these parts. Quite refreshing.

jessicado22 ~ Wow, great job on the 5 pounds. Thats awesome! And :bravo: on the extra running. I know exactly how good you must feel. Its an amazing feeling when you see the progress of your hard work.

kidlets ~ That is exactly how I see it as well. I am here to be held accountable and have my butt chewed if I need it. I certainly am not here to be enabled and coddled into thinking its okay to sit on my arse and eat 3 boxes of donuts!

100mother
~ Slow and steady wins the race. But the most important thing is that you feel awesome!

alinnell
~ Zoesmom made some great suggestions. My suggestion is what I do as prophylaxis when I know I'm going out to eat is that I make sure that morning, I get an intense workout (burning at least 700 calories) and that makes me feel like I have a little lead way with eating out.

sum38
~ The human body is the most fascinating thing. Who knows why we fluctuate so much. Just be confident in the fact that you are doing what you are supposed to be doing and that the gain is not a real gain! Sending groovy vibes your way for a whoosh soon!

tibbits ~ That is awesome. Super job on the loss and the 1 pound away from 50% is freakin' amazing. So proud of your accomplishment and how driven you are. Kudos and keep up the great work.

thinkinthin ~ (pretty sure I spelled that wrong) Anywho, that is the name of the game isn't it. The less weight we have to lose, the harder it is to come off. Just keep plugging away and it will, regardless of how slow it does come off. You are doing great!!!

zoesmom ~ My hero! YOu are so rockin' it girl! Have I told you today just how amazing you are? Well BAM, you're amazing!!!! So excited for you and the progress you are making. Thank you for being such an inspiration for me personally! Did I mention, you're amazing? Oh and OMGosh, no smart phone? Thats madness  Nah, I get it. I was totally anti-cell phone for the longest. Then my boyfriend put me on his plan because it was cheap and I guess with the boys, I really needed a means to call in case of emergency. Which I had a droid but just one of those pay as you go things just for emergencies but the boyfriend insisted and so here I am, all app crazy and smart phone wired. Love it though!

Holy personals batman! Busy day today around here! Well, I'm happy to report TOM is almost gone, I'd say gone but the last day is usually iffy, on/off light day, so pretty much gone. probably TMI, so sorry! Well weighed in and like clock work, another 2 pounds down this week. The 180s are right around the corner and I couldn't be more thrilled and right on track. Put in my 5 miles at the track this morning to and just trying to relax a bit. Guess that is pretty much about it. I have some cleaning and errands to run and then I think I'll relax for the rest of the day. My butt is still sore from working in my flower beds the other day. So weird. My boyfriend suggested that I do butt exercises (said it just like that) and that perhaps it would not be so sore the next time I get out there. He said, " you just haven't been bent over enough lately" LMAO! I just died! Goodtimes! And on that note, I will take my exit. I am so proud of you guys! You all just make my day so much brighter and push me that much further. So thank you to all of you for making my journey, an amazing one. Most importantly you guys have a great day and have FUN!!!!!

irish51 05-09-2013 01:28 PM

Congratulations to all that have lost!:woohoo:

I'm still holding steady at 142.8 (It's not easy to lose when you are older.. at least that is my excuse this week);)

alinnell 05-09-2013 01:48 PM

irish51~I totally understand! I'm 50 and I do find it more difficult than I used to. Well, that and my inability to get back into a regular exercise routine again!

DH and I got married in Vegas on the 4th of July, 2006...that's why we're doing our anniversary there :D It's really hot there in July, triple digits, but it's an awesome time to hang at the pools during the day and hit the strip at night...besides, all casinos are air conditioned! Oh, and congrats on your NSV!:carrot:

Thedollylala 05-09-2013 02:14 PM

Grr 185 my weight is so fluxy

ange82much 05-09-2013 10:07 PM

Ho hum. I've seen no hint of a fluctuation in 10 days!! Every time i've weighed in i've been exactly 62.2kg!!! It's ridiculous! I couldn't have done that if i'd tried! Anyway, not too worried cos i feel much better and my fat% has dropped a bit.

Last night will have to be my splurge night of the week. We found a really cute little restauraunt, sort of round the back of some buildings and next to the wharf. Never even knew it existed before. But couldn't resist two glasses of red and some shared tapas whilst looking out over the water. Yum yum. Theatre was good too. So all in all a great night (maybe this explains why i didn't lose weight in the last 24hr at least!)

adlea 05-09-2013 11:28 PM

Down 1.6 lbs today. Thanks to amandie and delphi for your encouragement. Only 3.6 till goal and then 9 more (12) to my own personal best. Thanks so much for this challenge, I am happy to be part of it.

NathalieMargareta 05-10-2013 05:43 AM

Scales are indeed pretty crap sometimes Zoesmom! I can see that yours did decide to move though, considering the AMAZING 5 pounds you're down from last week! :D

That's true Amandie; I should really just focus on the positives, and I've had quite a lot of NSVs, so that's something! Hahahaha on your boyfriend's comment.

Just had a look at the spreadsheet, and great job everyone on the losses! For those who didn't lose this week- we'll make sure to have a great one this week instead!

As for me I'm up to 141.4 today. My weigh-ins in May have been all over the place. I think the problem I'm having (apart from TOM stuff) is that I find it hard to strike a balance between focusing on weight-loss and not doing so. The first few weeks I was basically obsessed, and didn't think about much else, which is no way to live. On the other hand, now I'm slacking because I'm not focusing enough on it. I guess it's just one of those things I have to figure out as I go along. :dizzy:

On a more positive note: my dad and step-mum have finally decided that they're okay with me being home alone for 9 days, while they're in Denmark. I'm surprised, considering two of my three cousins had massive parties (I'm talking house-trashing sized parties with stolen TVs and broken windows) when left alone at my age. It's nice not only because of the peace and quiet, but because they won't be buying massive bowls of sweets that I can be tempted by.

Sinderelly 05-10-2013 06:09 AM

I haven't been able to run in a week.. ugh.. It was pouring down rain the first half the week, and then I got stitches out of my arm yesterday.. and she said "absolutely no exercise for at least 2 to 3 days so it can heal a bit more" le sigh..

I'm a little confused about my body right now.. I was stuck at 218 for awhile.. then the past three days..I've snacked and haven't ate that great and my body is all "whooosh lets drop 3 lbs" I'm not complaining at all though! ha

Sum38 05-10-2013 06:32 AM

...and today I was back down by 1.6 pounds :yay: So maybe next week's weigh in day will be kind to me.
