Well, something is finally working here. After a few days of not eating right due to social engagements the scale is finally on a downward trend. While I won't yet be in the negative side by tomorrow's weigh-in, I'm hoping to show something positive (meaning negative) by next week. DS is graduating high school tomorrow which means dinner will be a fly-by, but in looking back to the last time I had some serious weight loss and then maintenance, I realize that twice a month I skipped dinner due to long evening meetings. I'm thinking that isn't such a bad thing to do now and then.

Thanks Delphi and Amandie :)

My family tends to be pretty supportive of me and my dietary needs, so I am hoping my self control will hold up and I will come home without extra poundage.

Congrats zoesmom! that's awesome!

alinnell, glad to hear you are moving in the right direction :) good luck this coming week with the graduation etc. Celebrating while dieting is tricky but it can be done!

CONGRATS zoesmom!!!! That is awesome :)

Scale was down another pound today, but I'm waiting for tomorrow's weigh in before I call it officially. Hope everyone has a great weigh in tomorrow. We're almost halfway there!

Congrats Zoe's Mom!!!!! That's a major accomplishment-- you should feel so proud of yourself. YOU DID IT!!!

I've been disappointed with my weigh-ins the last 2 weeks, especially this week with no change. Despite being REALLY stressed out the last couple weeks, I've stayed on plan and have been exercising. I guess I should be looking on the positive side and be proud of not binging like a stressed out maniac.

I'll be busy with a house full of company this weekend, so I'm hoping to go full force on exercise starting Monday.

Congratulations to everyone keeping up with the challenge! Only 6 weeks left. Gah!

Also wanted to add

Congrats to zoesmom! 50lbs is AMAZING!

Wow!

You and zoesmom rock!

My weigh-in was good. Still not below where I started, but things are looking up and I can see where this will continue. While I might not make my goal by 7/4, anything close will be appreciated!

Hello Ladies and Gents!

I just want to say :bravo: on all the losses and a big shout out to zoesmom for hitting that milestone and thinkinthin for almost hitting that milestone! You ladies rock. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

I am happy to report a 3 pound drop this week. Have no clue how I did it or where it came from, but I will take it. Just want to thank you guys for supporting me and holding me accountable. I was kinda MIA yesterday. Something about a hostile take-over on Naboo or something. Things have been busy getting the BF settled back in and then car shopping yesterday. And today was the last day of school for my boys, so I'm sure they will be keeping me on my toes as well.

Amandie ~ The reveal for the Xbox One was great and yes, there are a lot of rumors going around about the always online connectivity and the bar on used games etc...but rumors only. They will give us a lot more information at E3 which is in a few weeks.

Thanks for the comments about my Dad elvis and amandie. Truth be told, I was estranged from him and my mother for many years just until 2010 when my son passed away and since then we have been rebuilding our relationship and it is going well. So, I am appreciative of the time I get to spend with them now as I know so many do not.

In any case, I have a big weekend ahead as I'm sure many of you do. Here is hoping that all of us can use every bit of our willpower to get through them unscathed and as on-plan as possible.

Once again, :congrat: to all of you wonderful people on your losses. I am just so dang proud of all of you for sticking with it and putting in so much hard work to reach your goals. You all are amazing in my book!

Congratulations to all those with losses !

Unfortunately, for me, the scale seems to be going the wrong way.:(

I am back on track and looking forward to a lower number next week. :crossed:

Thank you , thank you all for the kudos on my 50# hit. :D I shocked my GP. She hasn't seen me since August last year and she about flipped when she saw me. For two reasons...first, she was surprised I was still alive. I kinda neglected to go back to her she sent me away in an ambulance last year. Not because she did a bad job...quite the opposite...but because my pulmonary specialist and internal medicine specialist where better equipped to handle my messed up situation. So...that was kinda a funny yet weird reaction I got from her

The second reason was my weight. She remembered I was HUGE when she last saw me. And then...she had to double check to make sure I was the same person. She just couldn't believe her eyes! And seriously...she started asking ME for weight loss tips! SHE'S the doctor and SHE was asking ME! What a hoot! I feel bad I waited so long to visit her. But, she's been my doctor now for a decade, so she knows I tend to get side tracked sometimes...and she agrees meeting up with my pulmonary specialist was far more important there for a while. I just signed the release forms so she has the info so she is happy.

Will be sending out personals later....okay, probably after the weekend. Been insanely busy this week, much nuttier than normal even. Should slow down in the next couple of weeks since ballet is on break. Daughter's ballet recital was last night...SO freaking adorable! Heading out of town in a few hours....going to be MIA for a few days and get some seriously needed R&R...

anyways, everyone have an awesome Memorial Day Weekend, amazing and tubular losses and let's keep our guys and gals who have lost their lives fighting for what they believed in and those that keep doing it, in our hearts. PEACE! :goodvibes

IMO, doctors don't have all the answers to weight loss. Frankly I don't think it's something they teach in med school. Dietitians and nutritionists are a much better source of information. That and our own learning.

:cp: AMEN to that! That would be why my weighloss doctor is a doctor who SPECIALIZES in weighloss! I am all about specialists. IMO, everyone shoulD have several. A GP is great for routine things, but when it comes to more, best suited to go outside that box. One of the big reasons it took me so long to go back to my GP...her ability did not fit my need at the moment. She is still where I go when I get a head cold (unless it spirals out of control) and where I get routine blood work and physicals, but I have other doctors for everything else.

GordonGirl16 05-24-2013 10:46 AM

IMO, GPs are great for the everyday stuff, but if you have a more serious problem a specialist is really necessary. I'm only 18 and I've had to go to 3 or 4 different specialists for random problems that my GP couldn't take care of
