Let's all go for gold! :D

My goal is 750 minutes this month. I hope to add more toning also. That's where I'm especially lazy. I see how fit & muscular all the gymnasts are & I feel super flabby!

Curvynotlumpy: So you are still dealing with shin splints?:( Is the pain let up any?

Thanks for asking cat eyed! You're very sweet. I haven't ran for two weeks--been power walking and other things instead. Thankfully, my pain was relatively mild compared to other experiences I've been reading about on this site and other web sites. My first instinct was to try to "run through the discomfort" but after reading the various stories I decided that approach just wasn't worth it. I've been icing and elevating and my shins do feel much, much better. No pain at this point. This experience, mild though it is, has left me a bit anxious and fretful. What if I re-injure myself? What if I've lost all my stamina in 2 weeks? What if I'm not fully healed? I'm not at all a marathoner or even a true long distance runner, but I do enjoy it and would miss it terribly if I have to give it up permanently. I think because I was so unfit and inactive for so long, it's a point of accomplishment that I can even run at all. Thanks again for asking and for your PM. I'll for sure be writing you!

Increase workout time

For August, I want to put in 1500 minutes, keeping at least 3 different things each week.

8/1 - gym tread/bike and calisthenics (50 min)
8/2 - moderate neighborhood walk (45 min)

Yay! Another month! Thanks for hosting this thread gardenerjoy (to be honest, it's the only one I read on the site every single time I visit).
This month I'm going to try for 5 miles on the bike again and this month I promise I will not crash and take half the skin off my elbow. 30 miles on foot this month.
8/1 ~ 4.08F

Good Saturday to all. I've been editing my original post so my tally is there. Today was my first run in 2 weeks since I started experiencing shin splints. Happy to report, no pain :carrot: As an additional bonus, the time off resulted in shaving off 25 seconds from my normal time for this particular run. Don't know what that's about but I'll take it!:D
